Chapter 5

Inner Conflicts- Part 5 Inner Conflicts Part 5 Nightcrawler's head was thrown back, his mouth open in a soundless cry. Lance pounded into him savagely, each thrust causing the blue mutant to shudder in pain and pleasure. Hands gripped into the blue fur, bruising the flesh underneath. Somewhere nearby, an alarm sounded. Lance lifted his head from his pillow and groaned.  His hand fumbled around to shut the damn contraption that ruined his dream. He looked at the time and seriously debated going back to bed and skipping this day of class. His face had just hit the pillow when he remembered.  Tutoring with the blue boy. Lance pushed himself straight up and made a mad dash to get ready for classes.  His heart pounded against his chest. Sure, Blue boy hated him now. . . but that'll wear down.  Lance had always gotten his girl, and he knew he was so close to catching Kitty.  Who's to say the same can't be said for catching a guy. Challenges. He always enjoyed them. X "I don't vant to go," Kurt said, his voice muffled, face pressed against his pillow. "Kurt," sighed Scott. "Unless you're sick, you really have no excuse to stay here." "I'm not vell," Kurt responded. Scott clenched his fists.  "Kurt. . . I don't know what happened but don't let it eat you up!" Kurt let out a strange whimpering sound. "What? Did I say something wrong?" "Nothing. I'll go." Scott backed out of the room to give his fellow mutant his privacy.  He frowned slightly when the door closed on him. Despite his occasional tardiness to school in the morning, Kurt was showing an affinity to a lot of his classes now that he understood English a lot better than before.  He  had enjoyed the challenge of classes, in Bayville High, and at the Institute.  He absolutely adored Hank McCoy, and physical education was fun time for him. But suddenly, Kurt was more than reluctant to go to school.  He didn't want to go back the first day back from vacation, but with a bit of gently insistence, he did.  And for a few days, he seemed to be getting better.  Then all of a sudden, he was back to square one. The door opened in front of him, and Scott blinked. "You vere vaiting for me?" Kurt asked, as he turned on his hologram.  He was clearly pissed.  "I vasn't lying vhen I said I vould go," he spat out. "Kurt..." began Scott, before a Bamf! and a cloud of smoke and smell of brimstone interrupted him. "Wait!" he coughed out, waving his hand in his face.  He sighed, letting his shoulders slump.  He missed his little buddy.  Scott felt a knot growing in his throat.   He wanted his friend back. X Little laughter came from the X-teen table as fellow students of the Institute tried to make the somber mood cheerful again. It was difficult when the regular party dude was sitting with a dejected expression on his face.  Even though he occasionally smiled, it looked fake, and it discouraged some of the other teens. Even Kitty looked perplexed. And Kurt's lunch was only half eaten. No. . . Scott wasn't the only one missing their blue friend. X Lance's eyes glanced at the clock in the back of the classroom.  One minute till the dismissal bell rang. He looked back forward as he straightened up from his slouched position, a secretive smile on his face. X Kurt glanced at his watch and felt his stomach tighten. Thirty seconds. Maybe he could escape. "15, 16, and 21 thru 27 are due tomorrow morning.  And Mr. Wagner, may I please talk to you?" Or not. . . The bell rang as kids poured out of the classrooms and into the halls. "Here's an outline of my course that Alvers is in.  These are some of the subjects that I have and will be stressing throughout this week.  I'd appreciate it if you could help him focus on those areas." "Yes, sir," Kurt responded, trapped. X Kurt waved to his fellow mutants as they took off for the school parking lot.  He gave them a small smile to let them know that everything was all right, when in fact, everything felt like it was going to hell. With a grim face, Kurt turned and walked to the library. X Lance hid his smirk as the few people in the library laughed out loud. He had been slowly leaning into Kurt as he studied, the the German boy had kept inching away from him until he fell out of his seat. schoschool librarian glared at the students as their laughter simmered down to giggling. Lance could see Kurt's embarrassment and felt somewhat guilty. Before, Kurt would have just jumped right up and laughed with them.  But now. . . Lance got out of his chair and helped the shorter boy up.  Kurt's hologram was blushing a deep red, hair hiding his face. He gently guided the boy towards the back of the library where the more private study rooms were, away from prying eyes. Kurt snapped out of his humiliated induced daze. "Vhy are ve here?" he asked, his voice full of suspicion, as Lance closed the glass door behind them. "I thought we could do better with a bit more privacy." Alarms went off in Kurt's head. "Privacy?" he asked. "Sure." Lance reached out and brushed a strand of Kurt's hair away from his face. Kurt violently flinched away, his back slamming into the wall behind him. A predatory look passed through Lances's eyes.  He leaned forward. All sense of logic fled from Kurt's mind.  He couldn't move, he couldn't breathe. . . he didn't have the mind to port himself away. "Kurt," Lance murmured.  "Don't be afraid.  I won't hurt you like that ever again."  His voice dropped as he pressed himself against Kurt and whispered something into his ear. Kurt stilled as his eyes suddenly became glassy, his face expressing a stunned look. Lance pulled away and sat down on the single chair, tugging on Kurt's wrist. Kurt moved like a doll, his eyes distant as the words Lance spoke to him turned around in his head.  He wasn't even aware that Lance had guided him to sit one half of his lap, arm around his waist. When he slowly came back to reality, he tensed up again and leaned forward. "So teach me about bonding molecules," said Lance, nodding towards the open Chemistry book. With trembling hands, Kurt pulled the book closer and began to go over the basics. X Kurt reachhe ghe gates of the Institute and paused. His tears had stopped falling a while back, and his fur had dried.   He had never felt so confused. You should be glad, Lance's voice reverberated in his memory. Everyone seems to think you're a freak. Is any of X-geeks willing to hold you. . . kiss you? Kitty doesn't.  Why should anyone else? A blue haired freak.  Those words had struck a painful chord in his heart. Open your eyes, Blue boy.  I'm here.  I'm not afraid.  I think you're exotic. You just need to open up and accept that I'm the only one that will love you. . . Kurt ported into the grounds, trying to remain calm. I'm the only one that will love you. . . tbc
