chapter 3

disclaimer: Same as before, only Jenny owned by me, blah, blah, blah, Marvel owns everyone else, blah, blah, blah, making no money, blah, blah, blah...

pre-note: I was careful to post this chapter after a certain part in the main story (or the sequel that is). If you're curious about the reason Jenny gives Logan in this story you can always read "Human and the Demon" on fanfiction.net, but for the purpose of this story all you really need to know has already been told to you.

A Friend in Need: Chapter 3
by Dizi

Setting down the basket, Jenny emptied the hamper into it before glancing around the room for dirty clothes. How did Logan get them so dirty when he didn't go anywhere? It was a mystery but she had learned the meaning of pretreating since moving in here. He was usually pretty neat, putting them all in the hamper, but every so often...

A strong arm suddenly grabbed her around the waist, pulling her again a hard compact body. She stiffened instinctively, but relaxed at the growl in her ear. "Ya been avoidin' me, darlin'?"

"Um, not exactly," she hedged as he buried his face in her hair, then sucked in her breath when he slid a hand down the front of her khaki shorts. One thing about Logan, he didn't waste any time. "You've been away on a mission, then you went out at night, and I've had work to do..."

"That don't count, yer always workin'." He rubbed the underside of her belly, his fingertips just grazing her pubic hair, teasing. Behind her, he grinned as he smelled her scent change with the beginnings of arousal.
"You mean like now?" Jenny pointed out, slightly chiding.

"They're my clothes an' they can wait." he growled, spinning her around and backing her up against the bed. "Cain't smell the Cajun on ya so ya ain't been with 'im. Maybe it was the wrong man sneakin' inta yer room."

"Yes and no," she hedged again. The mention of Remy and not being with him tore at her heart. It had been the right thing to do for a number of reasons, but she missed him. And she had been avoiding Logan because she didn't want to tell him it was over, but... "Logan, we have to talk."

"Later." he ordered, pushing her so she fell onto the bed before his mouth descended hungrily on hers. He had an agenda to fill. Jenny couldn't take him yet, he was too wide, but she might be stretched enough for Remy, IF he was careful. But she hadn't been with Gumbo recently. Though it would have helped the process if the other man had started fucking her, HE wasn't going to suggest it to him.

Not giving her a chance to protest - Hell, the woman needed a break anyway - without pausing the kiss, he slid her shorts down her shapely legs. He gripped her breast roughly through her shirt and bra, taking her gasp into him. He was usually more careful with her, trying to stay gentle, but he was impatient and she didn't seem to mind.

Growling in a way that would have made most others cringe, he shoved his hand under the t-shirt. "Damn, woman, why can't ya wear somethin' that buttons?"

"I was doing laundry and stuff," she managed somehow to get out, "I always wear a t-shirt when I'm doing housework."

"Suppose ya wanna keep the shirt on," he grumbled, a glint in his eyes that she didn't notice.

"Yes." She knew he had seen the pictures and didn't have a problem with her scars but, like with Remy, she just couldn't do it. She didn't know why since she knew it wouldn't change anything with him. But she had seen the ugly mass in the mirror and her breast was nothing in comparison. It didn't have to bother him, it bothered her. However, she also knew he wasn't really pushing like Remy sometimes had. Logan was simply stating it, not complaining.

"Yer just gonna hafta lose a shirt," he announced. And before she realized what he meant, Logan released one claw with a loud SNIKT, pulled the shirt away in a bunched fist, and sliced it through the middle. He was vibrating with satisfaction as he treated her bra the same way. His grin was decidedly wolfish at her shock, "What? Yer back's covered and ya can wear one a mine when ya leave. I won't look."

She swallowed and began, "I don't think-"

"Ah hell, there ya go thinkin'," he snarled softly. "This ain't the time fer that." Reaching down he grasped her clit, rolling it between his fingers.

Jenny's thoughts shot away, replaced by pure pleasure. Logan bent down to run his teeth along the scars on her breast. They didn't do anything for him but neither did they turn him off. The scars were simply part of Jenny and he respected the strength they represented, even if she didn't see it. He didn't touch them to reassure her anymore but because he felt a need to show that respect whenever he saw them.

On the other hand, Jenny was glorying in his forcefulness. He wasn't hurting her but neither was he treating her like she couldn't take it, like she was delicate. She liked that he was treating her like any other woman. Not that she was thinking at that point, but she would appreciate it later.

He kept his thumb pressed to her clit, working it, as he slid a finger inside her cunt. Then another, pumping them hard as she gasped and moaned. Damn, he liked that, liked knowing she wasn't afraid of him touching her this way anymore. It hadn't happened overnight, but it had happened over the last few weeks. Now, if only those nightmares of her's would quit...

He kissed her again, softly this time, and began making his way down her body, the musky scent of her calling him. Pausing here and there to rake her with his teeth, something else he'd always been careful of, he reached the silky curls and buried his nose in the feminine scent.

Shuddering as he nuzzled her, Jenny let out a soft cry of need. She knew what was coming, wanted it desperately. She felt as well as heard the rumbles of sound coming from his chest only he could make in just that way right before his tongue swept out to taste her in a long sweep.

Need rushing from her core rippling outward, she whimpered, "Oh god."

Logan nipped each thigh in turn, biting so there would be just a slight mark, then gripped them as she involuntarily tried to close her legs around his head to hold him in place. There was no way he was moving, he was enjoying himself too much. He took his time lapping her slit, laving the sensitive skin until he knew she would be a little raw.

The one thing he didn't do, would never do, was use his teeth on her delicate folds. Periodically he lifted his head to nip or lightly bite her belly, hips, and thighs, licking them afterwards. But being as he was looking directly as a full set of teeth marks, he wouldn't do more than let her feel his teeth here. For his sake more than hers, it wasn't like she complained, but he didn't want to take the chance of being compared to the men who had hurt her, even in his own mind.

Suddenly, Logan surged back up to kiss her, letting Jenny taste her own essence on his tongue. At the same time he plunged two fingers into her slit, driving her over the edge violently. He took in her cries as her orgasm ripped through her, her long nails scoring his shoulders through his shirt.

Logan rolled over to his side, watching her facial expressions shift. He loved watching a woman like this, which was a good thing because he usually had to hold himself back. There were very few women who could keep up with him and even less who could take him if he let go. He had never found a normal human woman who could and Jenny was no exception. But he could be himself in ways with Jenny that he wasn't able to with others. She didn't mind his animal side, liked all the mansion's residents exactly as they were.

He had actually expected Jenny to fall for Hank. He knew the man had a thing for her, but nothing seemed to be coming of it. It was a shame really, but then if she had he wouldn't have times like this with her.

As he listened to her breathing start to go back to normal, he lay back and folded his arms behind his head, asking in as innocent a tone as a man like him could manage, "Ya wanted ta talk?"

Moving languidly, Jenny allowed her eyes to open. Taking in the smirk on his face, she managed to find her voice with effort, "I have to be able to think first."

He let out a snort, "Darlin', yer always good fer a laugh, among other things."

"Glad to oblige." She shifted so she could lean her head against his broad chest. She didn't want to let him go, she really didn't. Talking to Remy had been so hard, and it was her own fault, she had offered herself to them. But how was she supposed to have known?

Her eyes drifted around the room. She hadn't really spent much time in here just came in, grabbed the clothes, and left. Charles called it Logan's 'cave' and in some ways she could see why. Unlike the rest of the mansion, there was nothing fancy or elegant, everything was serviceable. The furniture was rough and battered, used and used well. Just like she felt at the moment.

Her eyes fell on a picture of Jubilee taken more than a year ago. The teen wasn't the only reason she had to stop seeing him, not even the main one, but as her first real friend she was definitely a reason. Just not a reason she could give Logan, but that didn't matter. There were others even more valid that he would understand.

"We can't do this anymore," she repeated her words to Remy, wanting to get it over with.

"It's just laundry, Jenny. It'll be there later." He didn't even raise his head to answer, thinking she really needed to learn to relax.

"That's not what I meant." She rolled over to look him in the eye, very conscious that she was as naked as she was willing to get while his was still fully clothed. She was also very aware of the bulge in his pants right by her hip.

Logan thought about her words, took in the resigned tone, and put things together. "Ya kicked Gumbo outta yer bed."

"I had to," she said, dropping her gaze.

"Why?" he asked softly, having an idea but wanting to hear it from her.

"You know why. How long would it be before he realized there's something different about me?" Her fingers played with the buttons on his flannel shirt nervously.

He sat up abruptly, dislodging her, then pulled her onto his lap, He cupped her face in one big hand, forcing her to look at him, and growled harshly, "There ain't nothin' wrong with ya."

"I don't want him to know." she whispered, a deep hurt showing in her glassy suddenly watery eyes. "It's different than the rest. I-I couldn't bear it if he felt sorry for me. I don't want him to know, I don't want anyone to know."

"Ah, Jenny, don't you go and start cryin' on me, I ain't the comfortin' one." He sighed. He alone knew about it, this pain inside her. They never said it aloud, but they both knew what it was about. And she was right that sooner or later Remy would figure it out too. He was a man who knew women and would notice she didn't have a period.

"You do alright," she murmured, lying her head on his shoulder. She pushed the tears that threatened away by sheer force of will, unwilling to cry about it again.

He pushed a flap of the tshirt away and began tracing the scars on her breast with a fingertip. "'Suppose ya told Remy it was on account a'Rogue."

Jenny smiled. He was so perceptive. He didn't like others knowing, but it was there for anyone to see if they only looked. "That too, and I really wouldn't want her to be hurt."

He nodded, still moving his fingers, not sure she could really feel it from the scar tissue. "Ya still have the nightmares."

"You should know better than to expect them to disappear. The past doesn't go away and neither will they, not completely. I handle them better now then ever before. And they ARE going away, especially after you two and the therapy with Charles."

Logan held back a sigh of frustration. The animal inside was protesting loudly that he hadn't gotten to fuck her. All this time he had held it back because he didn't want to hurt her with the promise that it's time would come. Maybe he could tempt her to give him more time, it wasn't as though she wouldn't like it. He shifted his hand to her nipple, giving it a tweak, and let it begin exploring again. "We could keep on awhile longer..."

"How long, Logan?" she asked quietly, trying to ignore the feelings building inside her. "Betsy already knows. How long until everyone does? Until Remy gets mad? Until I can't let go?"

Understanding what she was implying, his hand froze. "That wasn't supposed ta happen," he said kindly. "I'm sorry, we didn't stop ta think about the kinda person ya are. Yer not the kind to let someone touch yer body and not yer heart. We just knew ya was hurtin' an' wanted ta help."

"You have... but I can't help it." Tears were again trying to fall, and she again pushed them away. Why did he have to understand so well? "It's not that I want to stop, really... but I need..."

"More." he said, knowing exactly what she meant. He lay back again, taking her with him. "We all want that. Nothin' ta feel bad about. Some don't want more'n they got, some of us learn ta live with less, an' some cain't."

"I don't think I can." Jenny snuggled against him, relishing this time she had. "I like the way you make me feel, inside and out, and I like these times like this when we're together, but it's not enough. I told Remy I want someone who loves me, and I guess that's what it comes down to most."

"I can't give ya that, wish I could." Logan rubbed her back, wondering if he could push his luck play with her some more.

"I know, me too." She didn't want to end it on a sad note. Now matter that she would see him almost every day, Remy had been right and it was still a goodbye. A mischievous smile twisted her lips as she reached down to squeeze his cock though his jeans. "Let me show you what Remy taught me..."

Logan lifted a brow, a light entering his eyes, and warned while she unsnapped his jeans, "Darlin', ya best be ready fer a long afternoon, 'cause I ain't Remy."

"Well, you'll just have to show me the difference, won't you? The laundry can wait for once..."

----------------------------------------------------------

As usual for a Thursday night, Harry's Bar had a slow but steady business, which was the perfect time for Jenny to work her preferred but currently second job. While she tallied inventory, did all manner of paperwork, sorted mail, and many other little everyday business matters Harry had left for her, she didn't notice the two men watching her from their usual table at the back. Maybe she had just gotten used to it.

"She talk to you too, mon ami?" Remy asked with amusement, noticing the way heat lit up Logan's eyes every so often, but that wasn't unusual for him.

"Yeah," he grimaced still not happy about it. "Hell, she almost cried on me."

"But she doing better, non? Don' jump in de mornings, and don' chain-smoke so much no more. But, Jenny, she working too hard t'ough."

"When ya ever known her not ta? Fuck, and now she's tryin' ta keep up with us and here too." Logan took a large gulp of his beer and grunted. "But yeah, she's gettin' back ta her normal self, if that's what yer trying ta say."

"Den you t'ink we did de right t'ing?" There was an unexpected note of doubt in Remy's voice. A linger of guilt that they may have pushed her into doing something she wasn't ready for. Despite it being his idea for their collaborative effort on her behalf, he had had doubts as to whether it was best for her due to her history.

"Ya wonderin' too?" Logan tilted his head and lifted a brow at the other man. "Jenny seems ta think it did. The nightmares are goin' away, but she always said they would cause they did when she was a kid. 'Course it weren't exactly what they call healthy that time. So yeah, we did the right thing. Problem was that we're men an' got caught up in havin' a beautiful woman available instead o' rememberin' it were Jenny."

Remy sighed, almost petulantly. "Almost not wort' it, Remy didn't get to fuck her."

"Iffen I thought ya meant that, I'd get worked up 'bout now, but since I know better, I'll ignore it." Logan pulled out a cigar and lit it. "She did the right thing too, ya know. Makin' us stop. We was all havin' fun but she was about ta get her heart broke."

Looking at Jenny again, Remy frowned. "She not tell Remy dat."

"Don't worry 'bout it, just got a little bruised is all. Ya know," he said thoughtfully, "I remember a time when I didn't worry about fuckin' somebody I know an' hurtin' their feelin's. Was before the X-Men but it was a helluva lot easier than this shit where ya gotta worry that they're fallin' fer ya."

"You lucky den. Remy popular, he always got dat problem. Didn' see it in Jenny, t'ough." He stubbed out his cigarette, which he had let burn out, and admitted, "Maybe Remy didn't want to."

Both men watched in amusement as Jenny lifted a bewildered face having just then realized the jukebox had stopped playing ten minutes before. She smiled at the pile of quarters they had left for her and waved at them as she hurried to the start the music again before going back to the stack of mail.

"I think she's better fer our time with her." Logan said seriously. "She won't be scared ta start anythin' when she finds someone she cares fer."

"Whoever it be, dey better treat her right or dey answer to Remy." he vowed.

"Ya better get to 'em first then." Logan warned.

note: This is actually not the end of the story. For those upset about Jenny breaking up with Logan and Remy, as you can see she had plenty of reasons. But the main thing is that I'm giving her to Kurt in the main story. So she had to break up with them so she could be with him. It may be a little while but I have more chapters planned with ALL of them. Sorry, I don't mean an orgy, but all the characters will be involved - meaning Logan, Remy, and Jenny as well as Kurt. ~Dizi
