A/N Goddess Foxfeather, Queen of Mad Plotbunnies and BUSIEST WOMAN ALIVE (tm) , *sigh * they're all gone...*eg *
InterNutter, TC and Maxwell Pink get heaps of muse sparklies for archiving. :) Readers/Reviewers: I'm disturbed...the platypi have uniforms. Little matching hat-belt-shoe ensembles...and believe you me, it's damned hard to find shoes for platypi. I admire their tenacity in finding the gear.
"SURPRISE!!!"
Rogue did not know who to hit first, but she trained her sights on Jubilee, who seemed to be smiling the largest. She started towards the Asian girl but a pull on the back of her shirt kept her from progressing far. "Sweetcakes, let it go for now," Todd said through gritted teeth. "Suck it up and kill her later."
Rogue let out an embarrassed, annoyed breath and smiled falsely. "Wow! Thanks, guys! I never guessed y'all were plannin' all this!"
Jubilee bounded forward and grabbed her arm, dragging her away from Todd and into the middle of the small crowd. "We're all but unsupervised, oh Gothy one, so this thing's off the hook!" Jubilee hooted and darted away, heading towards the stereo sys
"
"She's got a very different definition of "off the hook" than me," Todd muttered from near Rogue's elbow. He had found an empty seat and settled and commenced to pulling Rogue down into his lap. "You're safe until Jubilee decides it's time to open presents."
"Presents?" Rogue gulped. "I don't want presents..." She looked around, slightly panicked, and winced as she saw the pile of gifts on one of the end tables. "So long as there's no...damn. They got a cake."
"Punch, too," Kurt said from above, standing behind the chair and grinning. "All my sisters in one place...how much happier could I be?"
"Dunno...I could ask Kitty..." Rogue raised a brow and smirked as Kurt colored slightly. "Where are they, anyway?"
"Erika's in the boathouse mit Mama und Papa, Katja is glommed onto Piotr and Anja is hiding behind the ficus. Groups make her nervous."
Todd choked on his punch. "And she performs in front of people?"
Kurt shrugged prosaically. "It's different...when you're on the trapeze or wire, you're someone else..."
"Ooooh, the Amazing Nightcrawler strikes again?" Kitty was smiling brightly as she appeared from behind Lance, who was steadily glaring at the wall opposite, not really noticing anyone or anything.
Kurt turned to face her and pulled her closer, his arm around her shoulder. "_Incredible _ Nightcrawler, thank you very much!"
Rogue looked up at her friend, pleasantly aware of Todd's strangely comforting warmth against her. Even in the early throes of her unwanted surprise party, she found it soothing he was near. "Kit, you okay? You look...fuzzy."
"Fuzzy!" she cried, giggling maniacally. "My sweetie is fuzzy!"
Kurt smiled but furrowed his brow. "You okay?"
Kitty nodded as Todd took her drink from her hand and sniffed the contents. "I'm really warm!"
Todd grimaced. "Dude, your girl's drunk. Or close to."
"Where'd that come from, Kitty?" Kurt demanded as Rogue took the drink from Todd and tossed it back in one swallow.
"Remy put it down before we all yelled. And I had his other one, too."
"What other one?" Rogue was looking around for the Cajun with every intention to pry his secret stash of rum from him at least for the next few hours.
"The coke one...it taste weird but I think it was going flat." Kitty nodded as if agreeing with herself. "And I had a beer! Lance gave it to me!"
Hearing his name, Lance snapped to attention. "Huh?"
"Beer!" Kitty sang. "Beer is good!"
"Kitty, you never drink!" Kurt said, mildly shocked.
"I only had _one _ beer. And it didn't count-it was a light beer!"
"Why did you give her a beer?" Kurt hissed, ignoring for the moment Kitty's giggle and furtive patting of his fur. Rogue, however, found it highly amusing and burst out laughing loudly.
"Because," Lance snapped, "she asked for one!" She had seen him drinking it and asked why. He had told her it was because it helped take his mind off things, so she asked for a sip and ended up taking the whole thing. Lance, however, was not going to tell Kurt that. "And I think she can decide for herself!"
"It's just punch!" Kitty put in, looking around for the cup she had been holding. "Hey!"
Todd snickered again. "That was almost pure rum, Kitty."
"Rum? Rummmmmmmmmmm....Rum!" she said. "Rum. I think I like it. Where's Remy?"
"I'll go find out..." Kurt said with a hint of ire. "Rogue, could you...?"
"Sure, Kurt...so long as you keep Jubes away from me until I'm done wanting to kill her. I'd hate to have to hide a body tonight."
"You got it." Kurt nodded and disappeared in a blink. The sound of his _*bamfs _ * could be heard for the next few seconds as he searched for the Cajun among the partiers, until the music switched to a loud, annoying pop song that made Todd and Rogue cringe.
"Oh! Dance music!" Kitty cooed. "I wanna dance!" She pulled on Todd's arm until he was forced to displace Rogue and rise to his feet or risk serious injury at Kitty's hands. "I won't break him, Rogue! I promise!"
"Better him than me," she muttered as Todd staggered after Kitty to a relatively clear spot in the middle of the rec room and commenced to standing and staring as Kitty began swaying to the music. "Though..."
"Somethin' wrong, cherie?" Remy asked, squatting next to the chair.
"Kurt's lookin' for ya."
"I know...that's why I hidin' here. I didn' know de gal were gonna drink my punch..."
"I think she's worried about something. Kitty doesn't drink and she had a beer before the party even started."
"Alcohol ain't de way..." At Rogue's raised brow, he said, "Hey, I were celebratin'. Remy too old ta get through dis ting widdout some liquid courage."
"How old are you, anyway?"
"Old 'nough," he said, effectively changing the topic. "So how you holdin' up?"
"It's only been ten minutes... What is Kitty doing to my boyfriend?" Rogue was not really concerned, just amused and a little worried about what Kurt would do when he saw.
"Katzchen!"
"I'm dancing!" Kitty called over the loud music. "Lots!"
"So I see..."
Rogue sighed and stood. "Guess I'd better save my boyfriend."
Remy nodded. "Hate to have him squished all over the room."
Rogue made a face and wove her way around Jean and Scott, dancing far too slow for the playing music, dodged Roulette's wild gyrations and made it to Todd, Kitty and Kurt. "Kurt, trust her...she ain't gonna do nothin'."
"I know," he said as if Kitty and Todd were not avidly listening. "I just don't like her being drunk."
"I'm not drunk!" Kitty said a little too loudly.
"We'll be back," Kurt said shortly, taking Kitty by the arm and 'porting her to her bedroom. "Katzchen.."
"Ooooh...I have no knees!" She sat heavily on the floor and fell onto her back. "Sparkled ceiling..."
Kurt sighed. "Did you eat anything today, Kitty?"
"Umm...lunch at the mall. And a pickle! I had a pickle off the tray downstairs!"
He felt a slight ache begin between his eyes as he tried to pull Kitty to her feet. "Fries and a pickle is all you've had today? No wonder the alcohol is hitting you so hard..." He tried not to show that he was having some trouble lifting her, mostly because of her limp state, but she began to pout anyway.
"I'm pudgy! Jean said I can't be on the first team unless I shape up and work on my fighting skills...but I haven't been practicing!"
"Liebes, bend your knees..."
"And now Tabby's gone and Logan and Storm and Wanda are looking for her and we're acting like nothing's wrong and...and..."
"And?" Kurt gave up and sat down next to her on the floor. "Kitty, you'll make the first team. They'll bring Tabby back. Have some faith."
"Faith," she sighed, lolling her head to look at him. "Faith doesn't always work."
"Sure it does," he said gently, taking one of her hands between both of his. "Just, sometimes, you just need to let go..."
Let go," she repeated. "I can do that." As she spoke, she disengaged her hand from his and pressed it against his chest, pushing him onto his back and scooting closer, leaning over him and kissing his lips briefly.
"And you're not pudgy," he said, almost an after thought.
"If you say that you like something to hold onto, I'm slapping you." She kissed him again, longer this time, nipping his lower lip before she pulled away.
"You taste like rum."
"Is that a bad thing?" She hesitated to kiss him again, even in her half drunk state registering that tasting of liquor might not be desirable.
"Not...really...but Kitty, if you're drunk, I don't want to take advantage."
"I'm taking advantage of you, silly," she said, feeling warm all over again, though she was not sure if it was the alcohol or Kurt making her feel that way. "You're on your back on my floor...anyone who catches us will see avinaving my way with you..."
"Kitty, I don't think..."
"Yes, you do, and right now, Kurt, I don't want to. I just want you." She moved atop him then, holding his startled face between her palms. "Kurt, I am feeling very, to use Rogue's phrase, fucked up right now. I'm freaked out about Tabby and Doctor Reyes, I'm stressed about this whole choosing teams thing, and most of all," she said leaning forward and kissing him soundly, "I'm really, really horny right now."
Kurt blinked. He had never heard Kitty use that particular word before, at least not in reference to herself. He rather liked it. She kissed him again and this time he kissed her back, feeling her against him, her body warm and soft and inviting as his hands came around to stroke her back, following the line of her spine all the way to the curve of her bottom, which he grasped greedily, holding her against him as his arousal grew. Kitty made tiny, high noises in the back of her throat as she squirmed against him, trying to relieve some of the building pressure in her belly as he arched against her. Kitty whimpered softly, the alcohol exacerbating her state. "Liebes, let's go to the bed," he said in her ear as she dipped her head to nuzzle his neck, licking and sucking the tender flesh just below his jaw.
Kitty grinned as Kurt shivered beneath her, the grazing of her teeth against his sensitive spots making the effect even more pronounced. "No. Wanna stay here."
"On the floor?" He really did not mind...he just thought that he should make sure.
"Mmm..." He slid her hand between them, bravery from alcohol driving her past her usual demure actions to ones of abject lust as she hurriedly unfastened his pants and rose enough to start pushing them down. "Damn it," she muttered when she met with resistance. "Ah...just a second..." she smiled and took his hands in hers a moment before he felt oddly electrified, though not in pain. She moved so that they rolled onto their sides and Kurt found himself naked, phased from his clothing as she had been. "I'm getting good at this phasing thing," she giggled.
"Phasing while intoxicated," Kurt sighed, "can't be a good thing."
"Less talk, more dirty bits," Kitty giggled again, rubbing against him in a very distracting fashion. Her giggle turned to a gasp as Kurt's tail began making random, light patterns on her back and legs, tracing out designs that seemed to make all of her nerves burn with needy fire. She pushed against him, draping one leg over his hip, letting him feel just how ready she was.
Kurt knew that the alcohol had helped her reach this point so quickly, but his own arousal was such that he was able to push the thought aside for later analysis. He was not quite sure who started the actual denouement of the situation, but he did not honestly care as he felt her slick warmth around him, the sound of her breathing loud in his ears as she squirmed against him, not forming words but rather mere sounds that spoke more than she could have said coherently. He felt her shudder hard as his tail traced the crevice of her buttocks downward to the top of her thigh, then back up to her lower back as she clutched at him, fingers digging into his arms and shoulders, trying to hold back her cries. He pushed against her until she was beneath him rather than on her side and bent to capture one pink nipple between his teeth, suckling and licking until she could not hold back the sharp cries. Hers tis tightened around his waist as she thrust against him, murmuring his name and nibbling his neck and chin as her body begin to react involuntarily, shivering as he moved within her and his tongue made wet trails across her chest. He could feel his own climax nearing as Kitty lost all rhythm beneath him, her fingers grasping at his fur and the carpet beneath her as if she could not decide which would offer more support. Finally, she arched against him, throwing her head back and moaning loudly, her heat flooding against him and seeping between them.
Kitty felt floaty and tingly as she came down off her orgasmic high, Kurt's continued movements within her sending further sharp shocks through her body. She felt deliciously lethargic and tried to respond to his touch, but could only manage murmuring and cooing sounds rather than the entreaties she tried to form. Seizing a moment, she nibbled one of his ears, laving and nipping the super-sensitive point as she stroked the base of his tail, drawing his ultimate response from him, his harsh cry against her neck making her feel warm all over again, melting from the inside out.
They did not have long to bask in the easy lassitude of postorgasmic bliss. The power blinked once, twice, then shut off entirely. The sounds of disappointed groans and cries of surprise could be heard from downstairs and finally, one voice above all. "Damn it, y'all are wusses...I'll go check the breakers!"
Kurt sighed, loathe to move, but knowing he had to. "Rogue can't see as well as I can in the dark. I'm going to go down, too."
Kitty nodded, already half asleep from a combination of the alcohol and sex. "I'll wait here..."
