Are You Scared?

The standard
American Society has a seemingly incomprehensible lust for horror movies. Why
is this? Is it the suspense, the small jolt of electricity that runs through
ones veins while one is screaming “Don’t open the door!”, or is a more primal factor?
The prehistoric need for blood and gore. Are scary movies healthy, or do they
cause serious and irreversible effect on society? Are they the true cause of deviance
in America? And if they are how can we
stop this epidemic.

~ Hmmmm how can we stop this epidemic?
~

Society can halt this on slat of consequences by by by by …….

“Dammit I lost my
MoJo!” The young blond girl smashed her pale
head into the rich oak of her desk.

“I hate you!” She growled at the slow in coming term paper
before her. She glared at the almost blank computer screen. The screen glared
back.

*Blink* * Blink* *Blink*, the curser taunted. She stuck her tongue
out at it and stood up.

~ Hey I three days till this is due. Another hour won’t kill me.
~

“Skylar I must
say I am very pleased with how well you have been doing with your school work. “
Professor Xavier exclaimed. She smiled not exactly sure how to take his praise.

“Well I …not really I I’m not really that good. Plus you know your
teachers that…thank you.” She murmured a light blush tinting her cheeks. He
chuckled.

“There is no reason to be so modest Skylar. In fact I am happy to
say that I think that next semester you may be able to handle regular high
school. “

Suddenly panic seemed
to fill her delicate feature.

“No please I can’t there’s too many people I……” She pleaded
feverently, her breath erupting from her sharp gasps.

“Relax Skylar, “The Professor
commanded in an effeort to calm her, “I was only
speculating. If by then you are still not ready to be with such a large group then
I will continue torturing you just like before. Relax.”

She smiled weakly,
now embarrassed.

“I’m sorry, god I’m
so stupid I ….”

“No need to apologize,
I should not have brought it up. Anyway that is not why I called you to my office
Skylar. “

“It’s not?” He shook
his head no and took out a brightly wrapped box.

“I have something for you, a gift for doing so well.”

She stared at him for a moment and then took the package
gratefully. She relished the feel of the silky paper and flimsy ribbon for a
moment before carefully unwrapping it.

“Oh my….” She gasped looking down at the matching fuchsia
unitard and toe shoes in the box. “Are they …how did you….Do you think that I’m
strong enough.” The Professor smiled at the obvious pleasure with had developed
on her face.

“Yes I think that you are healthy enough to dance. Why don’t you
go break them in?”

Again she stared at him. She knew that it was expected of her to
hug him or thank him in some other physical way but she just couldn’t bring
herself to succumb to such spacial bondrey invasion. But she knew she should. With such a amazing present as this could not be thanked with just a
common thank you, but she was just so scared to have Professor Xavier so close.

~ It
is all right Skylar I understand. Now go enjoy your gift. ~ P

She smiled a silent
thank you once more and then ran to do just what the Professor had told her to.
