CONSTANT CRAVING CHAPTER FOURTEEN (NC-17)
Disclaimers Apply
A/N Ted would like for me to make clear to all and sundry that he belongs to Foxfeather and her goddess-ness and no other...He was worried someone might get the wrong idea... ;) InterNutter, TC and Maxwell Pink all get special helper-ducks that do housework and even mow the lawn because they are lovely archivist people. Vampyre: droooooooool Readers/Reviewers: "I ain't happy, I'm feelin' glad, I got sunshine in a bag, I'm useless but not for long, the future is comin' on..." (The ducks will return next chapter...they're re-arming...) Gorillaz moment has passed...I feel better now... ;)
"Scott, I think this talk is long overdue..." Professor Xavier wheeled around his desk to draw close to the teenager. "Tell me...what do you think the root of this anger towards the Brotherhood, towards Remy, is?"
"You said it yourself, Professor...They're Brotherhood!" Scott rubbed the bridge of his nose in consternation. "I don't want them here."
"You had no problem with Remy until Lance and Todd moved in...does Rogue fall under the aegis of this anger, as well?"
Scott snorted. "Rogue wouldn't turn on us. It's them I'm worried about."
"I see..." Professor Xavier would not probe Scott, but he was getting wave after wave of confusion and anger from the boy. "Why are you worried?"
"They're against us!"
"How do you know?"
'They're Brotherhood!" Scott launched himself to his feet and began pacing agitatedly.
"Scott, your logic is circular..." The Professor regarded his charge with open curiosity. "This is unlike you, to be so angry and aggressive. Is there something going on I need to know about?"
Scott snapped "No," before remembering who he was talking to. "I mean, no sir." With a heavy sigh, he sank back into the leather armchair before the Professor. "I just don't like them being here."
"You feel it's X Men versus Brotherhood...you feel like it is you and Kurt and maybe even Jamie against the others?"
"Yeah...kinda...though I don't think Kurt is as anti-them as I am..." Scott sighed again. "I think he's just anti-Lance..."
"Well, concentrating on you now, when did you start feeling angry towards Remy, Lance and Todd?"
"I've always disliked Lance and Todd. Remy...that just started a few days ago. He took up for Lance and Todd during a fight and it pissed me off."
"Language..."
"Sorry...got me mad. We need to stick together, ya know? We can't let the wolves into the herd..."
"Do you see yourself and your fellow X Men as sheep, then?" The Professor was not sure if he should be amused or not, so he kept his tone neutral.
"No! Never! Just a poorly chosen expression..." Scott shook his head and, closing his eyes tightly, took off his glasses to rub his lids. Slipping the ruby lenses back into place, he said softly, "This year has been insane. All this stuff with Kurt and Kitty...Magneto, Mystique...I mean, where does it end? It's like I went to bed Friday knowing who was good and who was bad, where I stood in the Universe, then I wake up Saturday and it's all bass ackwards."
The Professor nodded sagely. "I see..."
"What? What do you see?" Scott demanded after a long pause from his mentor. In a broken tone, he continued, "I'm tired of Jean being mad at me...I'm tired of feeling like things are out of my control..."
"Scott, your problem is that you feel usurped. You have long held the position as de facto leader of the other young mutants and, when Lance and Todd moved into the boathouse, into your life through your friends, you felt like you should have had a say in it one way or the other. When you were not asked your opinion on the matter, you felt like they were coming in only to...rattle thi Ru Ruin things, as it were. Am I even close?"
Scott sighed heavily and stared at his shoes for nearly two minutes before he could answer. "I don't know. I just know I don't want them here..."
The Professor smiled gently and wheeled towards the door. "Think on what I've said...in the meantime, try and keep your temper. If you feel like lashing out, go to the gym and work on the heavy bag...do some yard work...try using a calming phrase, saying over and over until the anger passes. Just try not to hit anyone or lash out, okay?"
Scott nodded glumly, pausing in the open door. "Thanks, Professor...I'll do that. I can't promise it'll work, but I'll do it..."
"That's all I ask..." As the door clicked shut behind Scott, the Professor sighed himself. "I wonder if Hank can come up with an antidote for testosterone?"
Jamie was munching happily on his pretzels, watching the late show, when Kurt 'ported into the rec room. "Gah! Don't scare me like that!"
"Sorry, mein freund..." Kurt liberated a handful of pretzels and sighed, making himself comfortable next to the younger mutant. "Creature from the Black Lagoon...a classic."
"Yeah..." Jamie eyed his friend warily. They sat in relative quiet for a few minutes, the occasional crunching of pretzels or the slurp of soda the only sound in the room besides the grainy movie soundtrack. "Kurt...why are you and Lance fighting with the other guys?"
Kurt sighed again, sounding pained. "There's a lot of reasons...kind of." Kurt crunched another pretzel and rolled a myriad of answers around in his mind before deciding the truth would be best. "Jamie, I know everyone thinks of you as a kid around here, but I think you can deal with the truth. What I'm going to tell you is personal and I can trust you to keep it between us, ja?"
"Yeah...of course!" Jamie half-turned so that he was facing Kurt and waited eagerly for his older friend's reasons.
"You know Lance and Kitty used to date...He was mean to her, said mean things, tried to get her to do stuff that she didn't want to do...he even kind of started the ball rolling for all that trouble with her parents."
"Whoa. I kind of knew that, but hearing it directly...it just makes it stick..." Jamie shoved his bowl of pretzels to one side and nodded for Kurt to continue.
"Well, I loved Kitty for what seemed like an eternity before she and I got together...But one day, it was like everything in the Universe just clicked into place. I found out she loves me, loves me like I love her. as las like touching a match to kindling. This...this fire just burst into being and consumed us..." Kurt was so prone to poetic thoughts about Kitty that he did not notice waxing floral before Jamie.
"Um...is that when you two got caught...um...you know...." Jamie averted his eyes and picked at a thread on his jeans, embarrassed to be talking so candidly about sex.
"Actually...yeah. Kitty and I made love for the first time that night. But things got complicated...Lance was still bugging her, we were in trouble..." Kurt sighed and made a frustrated gesture, his eyes seeing days past and not focused on the present at all. "It seemed like this beautiful puzzle we had finally put together was going to be knocked all apart."
Jamie chewed his lip for a moment before asking, "So you and Kitty...you have this whole...huge relationship thing going on..."
Kurt chuckled softly. "It's like we're two halves of the same soul. It's nothing she said or did that made me feel this way. She's just...her. When we met, I felt this tug in my chest that was pulling me to her. Even when I was with Tabby and Amanda, that tug, that ache and craving to be with Kitty was always there. It drove me crazy so many nights..." Kurt trailed off, aware he was now telling too many secrets, that some things were sweetest when kept to himself. "Anyhow," he made a dismissive gesture, "Lance caused all sorts of problems for us. Amara even helped him out somewhat...but her I can forgive. She's the one who got his attention away from Kitty. She thinks she loves him..."
"Amara? In love?" The idea seemed impossible to Jamie. "She doesn't even _like _ anyone..."
"I know...weird, huh? But I get the feeling she and Lance have some karma thing going on, too...it's odd, but they seem to fit..."
"Eh."
Kurt laughed outright then. "Jamie, you are wise beyond your years, you know that? Anyhow...Lance and Amara made a lot of problems for me and Kitty for a while there..."
"So that's why you hate him?"
"I don't hate him...I just can't get past what he did."
"Do you think like Scott? That he and Todd and Remy are all going to gang up on us....all Brotherhood-y?" Jamie hated to think of Remy like that. He idolized the Cajun, thought of him as the brother he never had. _Remy would never hurt us like that... _
Kurt sighed sadly. "I don't really think they would do something bad, but I don't think they really...I guess what I want to say is that I don't think Todd and Lance belong here with us."
"What about Remy?"
Kurt knew how deeply Jamie's affection ran for the older teenager and did not want to hurt his feelings. He said honestly, "I think Remy does what is best for Remy. He would never hurt you or Jubilee, though...or anyone he cares about. He cares about the X Men, even if he won't say it out loud. He may have been the Big Bad1 one time, but I think he sees....the, ah, error of his ways now."
Jamie turned things over in his mind for a moment, Kurt's attention only perfunctorily on the movie. Finally, the younger boy said "So you don't hate them, you don't like them..."
"Pretty much."
"I don't think I'm happy with Lance because of what he did to Kitty and you, but I don't think he'll do it again. And Toad...I mean, what did he ever do?"
"He was a pain in my ass for almost two years, Jamie."
"Is he now?"
Kurt thought about it. "Well, until today, not really. But that Danger Room stunt..." Kurt shook his head. "Something isn't right here and I can't let go of any animosity until we get all sorted out. And those pranks! Who's been pulling pranks?"
Jamie shifted uncomfortably. He knew which mutants had been involved but did not want to share. Sy hey he said, "Well...if I hear anything, I'll let you know."
Kurt narrowed his gaze. "Hmmmm...you sure?"
Holding up one hand in the Boy Scout salute, Jamie said solemnly, "I promise that if anyone tells me anything about the pranks, I'll tell you..." _Not a total lie...no one really told me...I just sort of overheard... _
Kurt considered this for a moment and nodded. "Okay." The two fell into companionable silence, snickering occasionally at the bad effects and the rubber suit comprising the Creature. "Kurt?" Jamie asked during the next commercial.
"Ja?"
"Is love always like that? Like a fire?" Jamie could not look at his friend but stared fixedly at the commercial onscreen.
Kurt looked at the younger boy and knew that he was deadly serious-Jamie was watching a commercial for feminine hygiene products as if it held all the secrets of the Universe! "Well...I guess not."
"You guess not?" Jamie was worried. He thought he loved Rahne, but everyone around him was having grand, passionate gestures, steamy affairs...he felt like he was doing something wrong.
"Well, Jean and Scott aren't like a fire. They're more like...water carving a canyon. Scott loved Jean for a long time but they were friends. He kept loving her until her heart opened to him. Like water making a canyon..."
"So it's either huge and hot or slow and cool?" Jamie felt a little sick. _I hate growing up. I want my Legos back. _
Kurt chanced it and laid a comforting hand on Jamie's shoulder. "Love can't be defined, really. I mean, me me and Kitty, it was a fire. For Jean and Scott, it was a slow river. There is no right way to fall in love."
"How do you know when you're in love? Is there some sign?" Jamie lost all pretense now and looked at the teenager he considered a brother earnestly.
Kurt shook his head. "You just...know. It isn't always a big sign and it isn't iiateiate...Kitty said it just sort of crept up on her..."
Jamie nodded. "Okay."
"Okay what?"
"I was just trying to figure some stuff out and I think you helped."
"You think?"
"Well...yeah. I mean, I have a lot to figure out and I was kind of freaking out a little about...stuff..."
"Rahne?"
"Er..."
"Jamie...don't rush it. If it's meant to happen, it'll happen no matter what else the Universe throws at you."
"Promise?"
"Sure..."
Jamie nodded in all seriousness, tur bac back to the movie. "_It Came from Outer Space _ is on after this..."
"I'll make the popcorn."
Remy was sure the heavy bag was about to rupture it's seems when the faint whiff of jasmine made him stop mid-swing. "Chere?"
"Gumbo..." Jubilee crept into view around a stack of floor mats. "Just wanted to make sure you're okay."
Remy snorted. "How you be tinkin' I am? Scott hit me, people hate me..."
"It's not like you to be all self pitying..." Jubilee drew close and scowled, having no idea how precious Remy found her expression. "Stop it. I don't like it."
"For you, mon amour, anyting..." Remy sketched a small bow, brushing her arm with his hand in the process.
"Why are you guys all fighting?"
"You cut right to de chase, eh?"
"Spill it."
"Chere, I don' feel like talkin' bout it..."
Jubilee raised an eyebrow. "You know those underthings I left in your room? Those are the ones I was going to wear today...so that means under here," she did a small twirl to show off her outfit of a yellow tank top, black Capri pants and yellow high-top sneakers, "I'm commando."
"Ah, a gal after my own heart..." Remy dragged his knuckles gently down her cheek. "Wanna show me?"
"Make a deal with you...You tell me why you're fighting and I'll strip through the whole thing..."
"Den la petite morte2, eh?" he grinned lasciviously.
Jubilee drew her brows down for a moment but his meaning snapped into place when she saw the look in his eyes. "No, no, no....can't do that yet...but I can make things...interesting."
"Oh?"
"Just wait and see...Now," she said, taking hold of the edge of her shirt. "Start talking."
Remy sighed and moved to sit on the bench aga the the wall, motioning for her to come with him. "D'accord...I got no prollem wit anyone here mais Scott jus' insult me an' my honor by intimatin' dat I still be wit Magneto an' dem...He insult Lance an' Toad an' even Rogue by sayin' dat cause we once be in de Brudderhood, we can't be trusted none..."
Jubilee let her yellow top drop in Remy's lap and she nodded. "Go on..."
You first... Remy nodded in return, letting his eyes slide slowly from her face, down her neck, to the small mounds of her breasts, the dark nipples slowly stiffening under his visual caress. "I was gonna let tings go mais Scott...he be like a bulldog wid a bone... An' den he get Kurt all hot an' bothered, make him go agin' us..."
Jubilee was slowly unzipping her pants. "I don't think Kurt's against you..."
"Well, he not respect dat we no longer wid Magneto..." Remy stifled an involuntary gulp as Jubilee kicked off her shoes, wriggling her hips free from her pants. "An' I not like dat we be made ta feel like we do somehtin' bad jus' cause we used ta be in a bad situation..."
"Mmmm..." Jubilee tossed her pants to one side and stepped forward. "That all?"
"Pour moi...oui."
"So you're all pissy because your honor was wounded?"
"Er..."
"Just making sure we're clear..." Jubilee stood before him, legs slightly spread.
"So now..." He rested one hand on her hip, trying to pull her to him.
"Remy, I said no before...It's not you...really. You have no idea how much I want you right now..."
"Then why not? C'mon, chere...stop bein' childish bout dis whole fight..."
Jubilee glared. "I'm not the one getting into a snit because my feelings got hurt...So no, I don't feel like making love right now."
"Den what 'bout a fuck?"
"Remy!" She twisted from his loose grasp and stood just out of reach. "I won't sleep with you today but I can give you something to, um...consider."
"Oh? Like earlier?" He raised one eyebrow, wondering just what it would take to get her to change her mind.
"Nothing so tangible..." As she spoke, she let one hand drift to her center, toying with her sex but never changing expressions, looking steadily at Remy as if it were the most normal thing in the world for her to do this.
"Chere..." Remy swallowed thickly and reached for her again but she shook her head. "Mon ange..." Jubilee swayed slightly as her fingers increased tempo, her eyes drifting shut.
"If things were different right now, you would be doing this to me..." she murmured. "What would it take to make you stop fighting?"
"Chere, I ain't got no blood left for tinkin'..."
"Try," she gaspeHer Her chest and neck were flushed and Remy recognized the signs; he knew she was close to climax.
"Um...an apology...respect..."
'That's all?"
"That's everythin', petite..." Remy held out his hand again, this time to steady her as she gasped aloud and stepped forward shakily. She cried out softly and leaned against his knees, shuddering in her release. "Cherie..."
"Shhhh..." She pushed her short hair off her face with her free hand and slowly drawing her now-wetgersgers from her netherfolds. She tipped Remy's chin up with her dry fingers and leaned in close. "Until everything is settled, this is all you'll taste of me..." She kissed him fervently then, tongue laving his in a way that made even much-experienced Remy feel weak at the knees. As she drew away, she replaced her lips with her fingers, tracing Remy's lips with her arousal. He licked them, suckling them lightly with mad lust rising in his eyes. She gently drew them out of his mouth and sighed. "Sorry..."
"Don' be sorry...jus' make sure my tombstone look good..."
"Huh?" she asked, her shirt halfway on.
Remy fell to one side in exaggerated pain. "You gonna kill me, chere!"
1 Big Bad...Buffy moment...lol.
2 Literally, "The little death," old term for an orgasm.
