Kurt smiled then to keep Scott from retreating he offered, "I love myself too. Your turn again."

 

"I love myself" Scott's words sounded less forced.  "I love myself."

Scott looked puzzled and Kurt worried he might have pushed too far, before Scott said, "Because I'm a good man."

 

That uncertainty was creeping back in his voice.  Kurt asked, "Is that a question?"

 

"No," Scott said half-heartedly.  He pondered it and than said with confidence, "No.  I am a good man.  I'm smart and kind and I work hard.  Who wouldn't love me? I love me."

 

Kurt was beaming, Scott's happiness was contagious.
