I Don't Want To Miss A Thing

A/N: This story is probably going to suck. I'm tired from blowing and shoveling and kids but I wanted to write this. So if it sucks, I apologize.

Remy's face was a picture of absolute bliss and Logan couldn't help but look over at him as he noted that the young man's heart and breathing had slowed down. Remy was asleep. And smiling.

Logan couldn't help the smile that flitted across his own face. A genuine smile. He also couldn't help but wondering just what kind of dream Remy could be having that had him smiling so blindingly.

He didn't want to fall asleep. Lord knew he needed it after that bout of lovemaking, but even his dreams couldn't compare to the reality of holding his beloved in his arms, hearing his calm breaths, his slow, steady heartbeat, despite how many times it had been broken.

Sometimes, he could just make out some words, not really whispered, not really spoken, from the boy's lips when they moved and he couldn't help but be moved by them. And he wondered...just couldn't help but wonder...if the soft sounds and barely caught breaths were dreams of him.

So Logan looked his fill, even as he gently brushed his lips against the still kiss-swollen, pouty lips. A finger gently brushed up against Remy's collar bone where he'd left his mark of passion and he couldn't help but smile at the soft sigh, a barely audible moan and a slight skip in the strongly beating heart.

And it wasn't till then that he could fully admit to himself the thing that he'd desperately tried denying. He loved him. Deeply, unerringly and fully. And the reality hit him so suddenly that it filled him and made his body tremble with it.

He suddenly knew that he could lose himself in this time, this place and not care. He cherished these times. Cherished the peacefully slumbering man he now held in his arms. And he realized he didn't want to take a chance. Didn't want to lose Remy.

The thought of losing him hurt. He closed his eyes and felt Remy's heart beating against his own chest and he smiled. He knew that the thing he was going to do in the morning was the right thing to do for the both of them.

So while it was true that the sweetest dreams of Remy never compared to the real thing, he slept and dreamt of Remy as always and woke up to find a shyly smiling young man looking down into his own eyes.

Logan smiled and reached up to cup Remy's cheek and brushed his thumb over his lover's cheekbone and lifted up a bit to kiss him gently and briefly.

Once the kiss was broken, Logan rolled over and kissed him again, holding a sleep-warmed body next to his own, slowly teasing the sleepy body to full awake and aware not just of his body but of its own.

They made love slowly, tenderly and once Logan pulled out, he pulled the young man into his arms and kissed the top of his head. A few minutes of silence and Logan looked at him.

"Remy, I know I ain't never said it before, but...I love you darlin'. And we've been t'gether fer a helluva long time. Will you marry me?"

Remy said nothing, but his eyes filled with tears and he melted into Logan's body as he wept softly, feeling safe in Logan's arms.

That was all the answer Logan needed.
