The quality isn't the best.



The film skips in several places, a result of the tape being used one too many times in a stupid bid to save some money. This has also left the subjects caught on film fuzzy and almost indistinct if it weren't for their colors. The camera, a security model that went obsolete at least ten years ago, keeps automatically focusing every thirty seconds leaving the subjects blurrier for a split second. The lighting isn't ideal at all, and much of the action has to be imagined. And, of course, there is no sound at all.



No, the quality isn't the best, but it's not the quality that makes the video so captivating.



The camera focuses again, and the indistinct outlines turn clear. The blue and red sharpens into a man, unrecognizable except for the shield --and it'd be a tragedy that this is what the camera focuses on if it didn't give such undeniable proof of identity-- on the floor behind them. He's pressed hard against the wall and, between the camera angle and the second man pressing him there, there isn't much to be seen of him.



The second- man? It must be a man, there is no other explanation. The second man comes into focus a split second later. Gold and red metal that catches what little light there is in the warehouse. His back is to the camera, but close observation can show that part of the helmet is up. Part of the face that is obviously detachable.



This part of the film skips. The forms jump and distort wildly before snapping back a little darker than before. Something bulky is on the floor at their feet now, but it is never brought into focus. And then there is a pale flash, flesh, an indistinct hand moves between them as one gauntlet is stripped off. It falls to the floor with what must have surely been a tremendous crash.



Neither man seems to notice, their focus is entirely on a world that exists between them and can only be glimpsed from the camera's angle. The first man moves, legs pulling up to wrap around the other's waist. The camera focuses again turning them into blobs of color that move in a way that is very distinct.



Focus, first the man against the wall who's head is thrown back and a pool of darkness becomes his mouth. Open and panting. Or moaning, maybe screaming. Then the armored man, and there can never be any doubt about his humanity now. His movement is fast and sharp, a primal instinct that all men know and couldn't be duplicated by a mere machine.



The shield is in focus, and all the light reflects off of the armor without illuminating either man. This is where the imagination must take over. An odd shift of red must be from boots --too similar in color for the film to define-- crossing and pulling closer. The helmet seems to become smaller, head dipping down to claim a mouth in a kiss. The silhouette of both men becomes slimmer, and that must be from one arm reaching between them to take a more active role.



A blur of blue breaks through. The first man has arched back, pushing away enough for the dim light to highlight a bit of yellow. Their movements, fast before, come even faster. More brutal. The lack of sound is never more apparent than it is in this moment.



The camera focuses.



They both come into focus, but there is no movement to help distinguish where one ends and the other begins.



The film skips and distorts.



Now the shield is gone, and a faint glimpse of red is caught before it is out of the camera's range. The camera focuses, and when the warehouse comes into view again there is no trace of what had just happened.
