Summary: My blood is the key to eternal life? What trials and tribulations would any man go through in order to drink from me? Language, MM, OC, and Violence

Prologue

A car fell on my boyfriend.

He pushed me out of the way and I watched the black Hummer fall right on him. It smashed him right before my blue eyes. I can see the fresh blood and an unmoving hand that had been holding my own not even twenty seconds ago.

The snow is being painted scarlet red. It reminded me of the cherry slushy I had so very recently slurped in the movie theatre across the street.

Snow was collecting in his upturned palm as blood spread out underneath. The snow was so red.

People are screaming and sirens seem to fill the air. I fall to my knees amidst all that white coldness as glittering drops of ice fall all around my shivering form.

I look up at the dark sky, hearing a heartbreaking scream. Where was it coming from? It sounded like a wounded animal in terrible pain. I realized, to my horror, the scream was my own. I was the one screaming in agony and I couldn’t stop.

“Tyson!”

Tears blinded me as I reached for Tyson’s large hand, taking it in my own, pulling on it. I had to get him out. I felt myself slip and slide on the slick pavement, getting his cold blood all over me.

“TY!”

I screamed for God to help me. I fell in the snow, bowing over, holding his lifeless hand to my lips, screaming, begging, and cursing everything. Tears blinded me as I grinded my teeth in sorrow. It felt like they were going to shatter in my head.

“OH, GOD!” I scream. I felt like my heart was going to explode in my chest. I wished it would. The pain was too much. “OH, GOD! HELP ME!”

An explosion boomed in the distance, making me look up. Flames and black smoke seemed to fill the air. People were running and screaming. I could have cared less. Let the world burn down around me.

A woman with white hair soared over my head. She was being chased by a very large ball of flame.

“Get the boy!” A loud voice shouted.

I felt something large take me from behind, pulling my up as if I were a feather. I kicked my legs, screaming to be let go. There was blood in my eyes. I couldn’t see.

“Is this him?” The gravel-like voice asked. “He’s such a puny little thing.”

“Let me go!” I yelled as the snow began to fall even harder. The cold was stinging my pale flesh. “Tyson!”

“Who is Tyson, little boy?” Another voice asked. “Would that be the unfortunate bastard flattened under here?”

I could hear the tearing of metal.

A voice chuckled. “Well, he’s a pancake now.”

Hearing those insensitive words filled me with a blind rage. How could anybody be so cruel? My boyfriend was dead!

“Oh, now you’ve gone and done it, sugar,” a very southern-like voice said.

I felt myself thrown to the ground. It caused me to hit my head against the icy pavement. My eyes spun around in my head. I felt like I was going to lose consciousness. It would be a small blessing. Perhaps I would even die in whatever was happening around me.

I turned my head to the side, ignoring the shouts, yells, and cries. All I could see was Tyson’s crushed form beside me.

Tears streamed like liquid fire from my eyes.

It was un-telling how long I was like that. It felt like there was something inside of me, swimming around, trying to reach the surface. I closed me eyes, soon finding that I couldn’t open them. They were too heavy.

“The poor child,” a woman’s voice suddenly said and I felt strong arms picking me up. I tried to fight them, but I had no strength. It was like my whole body had been drained of energy.

“Why they be wantin’ this pretty little sunset over the bayou?” A Cajon voice asked. I could smell cologne and ozone.

“Shut your mouth, Remy!” The southern-sounding woman snapped.

“I’m sorry, petite,” the man chuckled. He was the one holding me as if I were a fainted princess. “I just call it like I see it, no?”

I tried to open my eyes, but it hurt too much. Everything was hurting too much. What was going on? Why couldn’t I move my body? Why was I in so much physical pain? It felt like my blood was boiling in my veins. I couldn’t even feel the cold anymore.

TYSON!

I had to help Tyson. I had to get him out from under that car. I needed to call my parents. I needed help! GOD!

“Take him back to the school,” a very mature sounding woman’s voice said in a cold blast of wind. “I’m sure the Professor will want to know why those mutants were after this child.”

“Sure thing, Storm,” the man said. “Come on, chere.”

Storm? What kind of name was that?

“You really want me to hit you, don’t you?” The woman asked.

The man snickered under his breath. “Perhaps…”

“I can’t stand you,” the woman hissed and I could feel the wind roaring all around me. I felt like I was being lifted upwards. “If it wasn’t for the kid, I’d drop you in the lake.”

“Oh, chere,” the man said, holding onto me tighter. “You sure do know how to make a guy feel loved.”

“You’re lucky I like you, swamp-rat,” the woman growled. “Or else I’d just suck you dry and leave you in a ditch somewhere.”

“Poor boy,” the man said, holding me tighter to his broad chest. He felt like a furnace. “It’s un-tellin’ what went through his mind when that…”

I could hear them. The two of them were talking about me and I couldn’t say anything. I wanted to scream for them to shut up. They had no right to speak the way they were.

I tried to force my eyes open, only to scream in mental anguish. I felt myself falling down, down, down. It was like I was breaking into a million little pieces. Every cell in my body was burning as if on fire.

The darkness took me under.

Ty…
