X-men Revamped Epsisode I
Pale green eyes glittered in the light of the full moon, a puff of hot breathe could be seen, They had seen colder days but the 45 degree weather rated her wearing her leather trench coat and a sweater, at least she assumed it would. She adjusted her turtle neck sweater, and shifted feeling the cold through her leather pants but she was un-bothered by it. Her acute senses were tuned into her surroundings as she searched for any sign of life besides the stray cats in the alley across the street beckoning her to them with large yellow eyes.
She turned her head to the side, flipping curly tendrils of chestnut hair from her face. “Victor where are you?” she whispered, adjusting her black leather gloves. In all black she easily blended into the shadow of the tree, and passing car wouldn’t even notice. But Victor should, she ran her tongue over her sharp canines, which reinforced her cat like mutation. But Alyssa only wished they had been there because of her mutation.
***Flashback***
The Music in the club pulsed rhythmically, Alyssa talked giddily with a few of her old friends from high school; it had been at least four years since she’d seen them. Her thick curly hair was pulled back with a sparkling gold clip, reflecting the light from the strobes. She found the perfect dress for the occasion, a dark red halter with an asymmetrical hemline at its lowest point falling to her knee and the highest to her upper thigh, with the perfect black heels. The women excitedly chatted about the men in their life who weren’t invited to this ladies only occasion.
“Ohhhh…He sounds perfect, I can’t even get mine to take out the garbage much less cook,” She cooed provoking laughter from the other women.
“Not perfect but, as close to it as I can get without dating Jesus,” Alyssa grinned, provoking more laughter from the women, “Hey I’m gonna step out for a quick smoke ok?”
One of them wrinkled her face in disdain, “Those are gonna kill you ya know…”
Alyssa laughed, “Yeah, yeah, something’s gonna kill us all one day,” She said backing toward the door with lighter and cigarette in hand, “I’m just taking my destiny into my own hands.”
A few of them laughed and shook their head at their once sigh classmate.
She opened the back door to the club; she never liked smoking inside, even if she was allowed a force of habit. There was a cool breeze wafting the smell of death toward her. It was really no surprise, homeless people crawled back in these alleys and died all the time, or uncooperative victims of muggings and other unsavory illegal acts would be dumped off in dark alley ways like this one. She sighed; in her line of work death was no shock to her. She had told the women inside she had a boring office job; but the truth was she was a thief, new to the trade but with her cat like mutation it came easy to her, but unfortunately she saw and caused a lot of death in her line of work.
She idly scanned the area for a dead body, figuring the least she could due is report the body and earn some good karma points; but she found nothing. She shrugged and lit her cigarette with her gold zippo lighter.
Suddenly, a quiet voice echoed through the alley from near the club door.
“Can I get a light angel?” the voice was gruff from smoking too much yet smooth at the same time.
Alyssa jumped…
***END***
“Boo!” Came a whisper of hot breathe in her ear pulling her out of her thoughts. Alyssa jumped and whipped around.
“Fuckin’ hell victor,” she gasped.
An amused grin played across the large beast of a man’s face. He loved getting a scare out of the woman.
He stared at her a moment examining her carefully, he liked the smell of fear on her. Alyssa shifted uncomfortably, then as an effort to keep him from staring at her, she stood on her tippy toes and pressed her lips to his. He pulled her closer so she pressed against him, and then pulled away.
“Xavier’s missing an the X-men aren’t being very generous with information, so your going in, since they don’t know, and your going to keep us posted.” Sabortooth told her.
She looked at him oddly, “Why?”
Sabortooth snarled at her, “Why the hell do you think? Xavier is the most powerful telepath on the planet anyone that has him could destroy us all… don’t be stupid!”
Alyssa recoiled and turned from him, “oh…So how exactly do you want me to get in?”
Creed grabbed her roughly by the arm and turned her around, “Don’t turn your back on me…” He warned in a low threatening voice.
She shifted uncomfortably and muttered an apology.
“The X-men will take you in if they believe you need help…So Magneto said make it look like you need help…and make it believable.” He told her.
“Ok but how?” she shifted again.
Victor grinned a large mischievous, “Easy…”

“A Royal Flush Mes Amis,” Came a thick Cajun accent followed by the aggravated groans of three other men. Not many people were sleeping tonight, all trying to find someway to temporarily distract themselves from Xavier’s recent disappearance.
Rogue lay curled up in Remy lap, as Bobby, Logan and Angel sat around a coffee table in the rec room with cards and money piled on it.
“If you had more balls, Cajun I’d say you were cheating,” Logan smirked dropping his pile on the table.
“If you had more brains Wolvy, I’d say you know better,” Remy replied earning a chuckle from the other two men.
“Okay, that’s the last hand I’m play with you,” Angel sighed, “I’m gonna go broke…”
“You’re telling me,” Bobby agreed.
“Don’t call me gambit for nuthin’” The Cajun grinned, then looked at Logan, “Smoke?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Logan said getting up and pulling out cigar.
Remy gently, lifted rogue’s head from his lap with gloved hands and laid her head back down on the floor. Suddenly the silence of the dead night was torn by piercing sirens.
“Shit!” Logan Snarled.
Rogue’s head jerked up in response, “What the hell’s goin’ on?”
“Don’t know chere, but we goin’ to find out, you stay here,” Gambit told her his red eyes blazing.
Rogue raised a single sleepy eyebrow not fully processing what was going on.
The four men made their way out the door.
“I’ll scan the area,” Angel told them unfolding his large feathered wings, coiling his legs and pushing off of the ground.
Logan sniffed the air, “I smell blood…over here…” Logan gestured following the scent to an area near the large iron gates of the school.
A girl sat heap in a battered bloody mess near the gates.
“Sacre Bleu,” Gambit said in exclamation, “Who da hell would…?”
They moved closer and Logan caught a familiar scent underlying all the blood and death, “Sabertooth…” He snarled easily hopping the fence.
Gambit knelt down by the girl; then gasped.
“What?” Bobby demanded.
“I know her…” Gambit said his voice lowering, “Me and dis girl had some great times together…”
“Ex- girlfriend?” Bobby asked, Remy only nodded in response pushing a bloody strand of hair from her face.
“Come on Remy let’s get her inside…”Bobby said quietly.
He nodded and scooped the girl up cradling her head against his chest. “What did you get yourself into Ma Cher?” Remy whispered.
“Remy she…” Logan started re joining the two but stopped at a warning glance from Bobby.
Normally he’d ignore the boy but something in his face told him it was important.
“Any sign of the fur ball?” Bobby asked.
Logan shook his head the two pausing to talk and Remy kept going with the girl in hand.
Logan tossed an inquisitive glance at Remy.
“Ex- Girlfriend,” Bobby explained, “Is she…Dead?”
Logan nodded grimly.
“Think Magneto sent Sabertooth to do that?” Bobby asked, knowing they had refused information to the man.
“I don’t know Sabertooth acts on his own sometimes,” Logan replied.
The two met up with Remy in the Med lab, finding Jean and Beast already waiting expectantly.
Jean already began trying to revive her with electrical impulses to the heart but to no avail. Rogue stood in the doorway, slightly confused.
“Remy,” Beast told him quietly, “She’s…dead…”
“What?” Remy looked at him incredulously
“No pulse, she’s not breathing…She lost too much blood,” Jean said carefully and sympathetically.
Remy swallowed hard.
“You knew her?” Rogue asked.
“I know her,” Remy said sliding a hand over her face closing her eyes.
Rogue wrinkled up her face in confusion, "She's De..."
The woman twitched; before anyone could react she grabbed Remy’s hand and jerked it towards her mouth sinking her sharp canines into his wrist.
Remy groaned in pain, Logan was the first one to his aid, he grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head down onto the metal table they had her laying on, and slammed the two claws on the opposite hand toward her neck retracting the middle claw. Now with her pinned to the table she struggled violently, until he extended the middle claw till it just pressed against her neck.
“What the hell?” Jean’s eyes went wide, “But she has no pulse…An Odd mutation maybe…”
“No,” Remy said clutching his wrist, “she had a pulse…once…”
Remy knelt next to the woman, “Chere…Alyssa?”
Her bright green eyes darted toward him, the wild look subsided and her eyes softened, “Remy?”
Remy gestured for Logan to let her go, Logan grunted before letting her up.
“What happened to you?” Remy asked.
“I was attacked…” She started.
“Sabertooth,” Logan growled.
She looked shocked for a moment, “I uh…uh…I guess…he was fucking huge…Claws…”
Remy lowered his head, “Not what I meant…You…bit…”
She sighed…”I uh told you I went through some changes…”
Rogue’s eyes grew narrow and she backed from the doorway. But Remy barely took notice…
“The kinda changes, that stop a pulse?” Remy demanded, “Hey Dis Cajun may not be very bright but…dat ain’t right Chere…”
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you…” she said.
“I would…” Jean said stepping forward, "I can read your mind....if you want..."
“You can’t…I’m dead,” She replied.
“What?” Remy gasped.
All of them looked at her incredulously.
“Not like the others…my mutation kept me from being like them…but…” she continued shifting, “The blood it heals me…it was a reaction Rem…I didn’t even realize…I’m Sorry…”
“Like the others?” Beast asked cocking his head to the side like a puppy.
“There’s a whole clan of them…” she muttered…”Vampires,”
Logan raised an eyebrow “Right…”
“When I was in New Orleans I heard people talk about dem, but Remy just figured they were just talkin’ like Cajuns do,” Remy said eyes wide.
“Yeah Cajuns do…” Logan smirked.
“Well if you let me try to read you…I won’t look through anything else…I promise…” Jean told her moving towards her.
Alyssa shifted uncomfortably “I uh…Well ok…”
Jean put both her hands around her head and focused just on that particular moment that she was talking about.

She turned to the man flicking open her lighter then lighting the cigarette for him.
The dark haired man took a long drag on the cigarette, “You know these things’ll kill ya?”
“That’s what they say,” she said turning from him, to take a hit from her own cigarette.
“It is isn’t? But that’s not what’s gonna kill people like us…” he chuckled slightly now a little closer.
She laughed, “Like us huh?”
“Hunters…” Now he was behind her, putting his hands on her shoulders.
She jerked away, growling a deep primal growl, “Back the fuck up!”
Her eyes were bright yellow, allowing her to see in infrared,…his body was the same temperature as their surroundings.
“What in the name of…” She started.
“God…” He laughed.
He grabbed her head and jerked it to the side easily, and sunk long tapered fangs into her neck. Draining her blood until she was nearly dead, then he smiled down at her, “Live forever of die now?”
