Looking For a Fic

The story starts with John as a street kid, and he's not having a good day. He had to show his powers and now some guy is following him. It turns out to be Bobby, who saw what John can do and wants John's help. Bobby ran away from home for a reason the author didn't say but it gives the impression of being about mutants, though his parents didn't know Bobby is one. Bobby shows John his own powers to get John to help him. John takes him under his wing, so to speak, and teaches Bobby how to survive on the street. And of course while they are on the street they fall in love. At the end the story tells of how Storm and Scott recruit the two, though Bobby makes the decision because he wants John to experience how it's like off the street. But the at very ending, it says something along the lines of "It's been a great couple of years but when John walks off the Jet, Bobby is right behind him, without hesistation."

Like I said in the summary, I'm pretty sure the title has the words "Bridges" and "Burn." And The story really doesn't say anything about the first movie, it is just skipped over.
