Ah cant believe it!
Yay, first story here. I write a little bit of fanfiction here and there, but my muse was screaming for this. It is entirely from Rogue's perspective right now. I may change that but for now I am liking the Southern Belle's thought displayed for all to see.

That Stupid Swamp Rat! Of course Gambit would just show up on our front steps at some ungodly hour in the middle of a storm drenched like a lost puppy. Those damn eyes. Those damn Diablo eyes that stare right through me. Ah still remember how they glowed the first time I saw him… Then he turns around and nearly blows mah hand off. Ah hate him. Ah hate him because Ah know this is going to be extremely hard. Ah will not be like the rest of the swooning giggling idiots. This is a losing battle. He hasn’t even been here for a day and Ah already am losing. Gawd, Ah hate being a teenage girl.
“Why is the Professor even calling us down, you know he is bringing another stray in the house.” Ah sigh and scowl as I usually do.
Scott being Mr. Perfect Fearless Leader reminds me, “Remember you were a stray once too.”
Kurt nods and adds, “Jaa, almost all of us vere strays once.”
Ah watch Kurt prance around Kitty like an idiot. She giggles at him and bats her eyelashes. Ah roll my eyes. Or course my roommate and my brother would be all over each other and start a relationship. Why not? Its not like Gawd likes me and wants to spare me from hearing all about their little adventures from Kitty. We finish strolling down the hall in silence and enter the professor’s office.
There he is. On the couch. Smirking at all of us. He takes one look at Jean and his grin widens. Ah snort under my breath and he looks at me. His smirk grows even wider despite mah scowl. Ah wrap my robe tighter around me and avert my gaze. Ah cant believe Ah already let him get to me. Why would he even look at me that way in the first place? Ah glance back up at him to see his gaze still hasn’t left mah body. Ah linger by the door after the Professor instructs us to take a seat. The rest of the adult members were sitting by the Professor. My body seems to want to shift back and forth nervously of its own accord as the professor clears his throat.
“I asked you all down because you are the senior members here and I want you to set an example to the younger students. As I am sure you heard, a former enemy known as Gambit showed up very early this morning. After discussing things with him I, along with Ororo, Logan, and Dr. McCoy, decided he will stay with us. I know this will be odd for the students, especially some of you, but know I have done this because he comes to us sincerely wanting to help our cause. Please do your best to make him feel welcome. Remy would you like to introduce yourself?”
He shrugs nonchalantly and smiles slyly, “My name is Remy Lebeau. I am from New Orleans, if you couldn’t place my accent.” He pauses and scans all of us, lingering on Kitty, Jean and I. “I look forward to working with all of you.” He grins as one by one the girls flush and the guys get annoyed.
Ah roll my eyes and give Logan a questioning look. He shrugs and I instantly recognize he is just as annoyed with him as the rest of us. Logan give me a feral grin and glances at the thief. “It’s a good thing you look forward to it, kid. Because your first Danger room session begins in about two and a half hours.”
Ah almost laugh despite myself and grin at Logan. He gives me an amused grin back as the Cajun looks confused. The professor sighs in exasperation and smiles warily at all of us.
“You are all dismissed. I’ll see you all tomorrow.”
Scott gets up the moment the Professor is done and storms out the door, followed by a concerned looking Jean. Ah shake my head at the two and look to Logan once more to nod goodnight at him. He nods back and Ah walk out the door. Ah start to walk down the hall when Kitty bounds out the door.
“Hey Rogue! Like, Wait!” Ah turn around to see Kitty catching up with me. She walks alongside me as we wander down the hall to the girl’s wing. “So..” Kitty slowly says, “What do you think of Remy?” Ah inwardly groan at the question but looking at her, knowing Ah have to give some kind of answer.
“Well, Ah don’t know. All Ah know is Ah didn’t like the way he was staring at me.”
“I know! He was like, totally checking you out.”
Ah huff under my breath, “That won’t last too long once he figure out my mutation, sugah.”
Kitty raises an eyebrow, “Oh my God! You totally like, like him don’t you! Don’t even think of lying! I see that blush!”
By this time we are back at our room. "AH DO NOT!"
She smiles knowingly, commenting, "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much."
Ah grumble undy bry breath and settle with changing the subject, “Look, can we just go to sleep? Ah don’t know about you, but Ah know Ah could use the extra two hours.”
Kitty laughs, “Ok Rogue, just know I’m on to you.”
Ah sigh and slip out of mah robe, sliding into bed and snuggling under mah covers. Please, please let me not dream of that swamp rat.
