The Animal Unleashed II

The locusts and cicadas sang their songs in the summer night as a cool breeze rustled the trees around the Xavier Institute. The sound of the wind always had a relaxing affect on the man looking out the open window. His cigar long since put out, he took a deep breath of the smoke and sweet flowery air. Logan smiled as he caught the whiff of roses and baby powder mingled with the cherry blossom and Cuban tobacco scents that floated around on the breeze.

Another wave of roses came to him as he heard the soft rustle of his new Japanese silk sheets slide over Jean’s nude body. Logan knew she was awake by the change in her breathing and heart beat. She had snuck in an hour after everyone else had gone to bed. They had virtually torn each other’s cloths off when the door to his room had closed.

It had been two months since the “incident” where he had lost control to the primitive feral that was now a part of his mind and they still could not get enough of each other. Years of frustration and underlying sexual tension had finally been relieved when Jean had freed his mind from the feral personality by giving herself to him. She had seen what Scott truly was and realized that he was not the one she loved. Now Jean questioned whether she had loved him at all, or whether she was just playing life safe.

Jean still felt a place in her heart for Scott as a friend but since the breakup he had taken a complete one-eighty in the way he treated her. Scott was gruffer, even temperamental when she offered suggestions on how to deal with things, especially in fights with other mutants. It was getting so bad that the team’s combat effectiveness was being compromised. In the last fight they had against Juggernaught, it had caused Remy to spend two weeks in the infirmary from a mistake Scott had made by not listening to Jean’s observance that Juggernaught had seen Gambit’s flanking maneuver with Wolverine. Scott had actually told her to “Shut the hell up and do as I say!!!” as Gambit had attacked as told while Wolverine distracted Juggernaught. But Juggernaught had caught Gambit in a corner and broken his leg before Wolverine could make his move.

That was when Jean had over written Scott’s orders and used Wolverine and Storm to make a joined attack while Rogue and Archangel got Gambit out of there. She told Storm to hit Juggernaught with a lightning bolt and Wolverine to cut his helmet off. They had worked efficiently and succeeded while Scott stood by and sulked. He did not even lift a finger to help.

Now she and Logan had developed into an all-consuming, full-blown need for each other. They could not stand to be apart from each other for very long. A simple, discreet holding of hands was enough most times but there were times when they needed more. When those hit they tried to find a secluded spot in the mansion to go and hold each other, drinking in each other’s smells, feeling each other’s skin, kissing like they would never see each other ever again. They craved each other like two bolts of electricity fusing together and came up with ways of touching and being together in public. Logan smiled thinking of the time she came to his martial arts class to “ask him a question” about a throw she had been “practicing.” He had used the “question” to teach the students about leverage, and he used Jean to demonstrate the throw that would allow him to land on top of her. He had thrown her to the ground as usual and landed on top of her while explaining the move to her and the students, but it also allowed him to stay on top of her for a time that would usually be considered inappropriate. They stayed in that position long enough to make her blush but not long enough to raise suspicions.

But it was emotional need as well as physical, while their bodies demanded contact, their minds ached for each other. They had quickly developed the psylink, they swam in each other’s minds constantly. They spoke to each other whispering sweet nothings and heated needs for one another. They shared each other’s dreams for the future and the horrors of the past. The link was cathartic for Logan. The pain of not knowing the truth about his past was being soothed by the knowledge that Jean would never leave him willingly. They had even planned on secretly going up north to look for more clues about where he grew up after the rash of uprisings of evil mutants had quieted down some.

Logan breathed in her scent again as she leaned up on her elbows. “Logan?” she asked wearily, obviously still half asleep. “What’s wrong?” Logan turned from the window to look at her. The silk sheets had slipped down to her waist as she raised up into her leaning position, exposing her perfect upper body. The smooth sheets had his desired affect on her nude body as he could see her erect nipples in the moonlight shinning on her beautiful features.
God he loved looking at her, raised up on her elbows on the soft mattress with the navy blue silk sheets crumpled up on and around her, surrounded by the blue silk covered pillows. “Logan?” she questioned again as she squinted at him in the moonlight with sleep filled eyes.

“Yeah Darlin’?” he said as he smiled at her in the moonlight. “What are you doing up love?” she asked, blinking sleepily. “Just thinkin’ a little.” He replied leaning against the windowsill. Jean stared hard at Logan with blurry vision and asked, “Are you thinking about leaving again?” Logan took a deep breath and said, “No, I haven’t thought about leavin’ in months. Jeanie, I don’t think I’ll ever leave again.” Jean’s vision had cleared enough to see the look of peace on happiness on his face, something she had never seen before and it made her smile. “Well then come back to bed and sleep,” she said as she raised the covers to allow him in.

Logan smiled and walked over to the bed slipping under the sheets. Jean wrapped her arms around him. Logan put his head in the nape of her neck, inhaling her intoxicating scent. Jean began to hum the lullaby her mother hummed to her when she was a child as she and Logan slipped back into sleep.

They woke to the braying of the alarm clock. Logan out of the bed ready to fight, like always, and Jean fumbling for the off switch, both hating the fact that their time alone together was ending yet again. Finally the alarm died and Jean got up with a groan. She gathered her nightgown and slipped the shiny silken garment over her head while watched with a grin. Jean stepped up to him and they kissed passionately before she snuck out of his room to hers. They always did this, the alarm was set a half-hour before the earliest risers awoke. This was so that she could get back to her room to keep their still secret relationship safe.

However, this day was different, this day one person was watching as Jean silently snuck out of the killer’s room and into her own. The red haze of his ruby quartz glasses Scott Summers wore only gave him an excuse to see red this morning. He knew they were sleeping together, but he had no idea that they were spending the nights together in each other’s arms.

Scott had been late going to bed the night before because he had been doing an extra session in the danger room, venting his rage at the killer Logan and his slut of an ex-wife, Jean. When he was silently stalking up the hall so as not to wake anyone else he saw her come out of her room dressed in that tramp attire. Scott had hidden in a dark corner shielding as she floated to Logan’s door. She had looked around and stopped when she came to his hiding place. He thought he was caught when she peered into the shadows where he lurked. But she had just shrugged and opened the door to slip inside. A few minutes later he had heard Jean’s tell tale moans that were so familiar, yet so different, and they struck him like the grunts of a two-bit hooker. Pleasured and more intense as the slut and the animal rutted. Yes he now knew that Jean was a whore who would give her body to any animal that showed an interest in her.

Scott had felt the rage and hate grow as he listened to their disgusting act. He hated Logan now, the murderer and stone cold killer. He was disgracing the Professor’s dream and the school by just being affiliated with the X-Men. He was a beast, an animal that only killed, ate, slept, and mated. Scott also hated Jean for leaving him for the beast. He was disgusted that she had reverted, in his mind, to bestiality. For him that was what their relationship was.

The next morning Scott had woken up extremely early and decided to watch the door again, wondering if she had stayed all night with the animal. Scott watched as she slipped back into her room anddenldenly had an idea. He would end this. He had already promised himself that he would show them all that Logan was nothing more than an animal, but know he had to put the animal down, all to show that slut that he was right. Now he knew what to do. Scott smiled as turned to walk down stairs. “This ends soon,” he thought to himself as he envisioned what he need to succeed in his plan, and chuckled.

Jean was finishing up her class on anatomy when she saw the county clerk arrive with a thick manila envelope. “Oh God, oh God, oh God,” Jean thought as she dismissed the class five minutes early. She came out of the classroom at the same time as the man was handing Scott the envelope and said, “Scott Summers. You are served.” Scott’s face was a tinderbox of anger bordering on rage and insanity. Jean was motionless as Scott turned to face her, his ruby red glasses ablaze with barely contained fury. Their eyes met and Jean was shocked still as he began to stare at her. As Scott stared at her, Jean felt the hate and anger swell in him. For the first time in her life since she met him, she was scared of Scott.

Suddenly she heard Logan in her head, “Jean?” he asked worriedly, “What’s wrong? I’m almost there.” Logan sounded angry. He knew that it was Scott making her afraid, and Logan would not stand by while that happened. Jean was glued to the spot she stood in as Scott glared at her with his ruby quartz glasses. Jean felt the hatred spike and she knew that Logan was there.

A second later Logan stepped in front Jean, releasing her from the red glare of anger. She felt Logan’s own feral rage surge up as he stalked to the motionless Scott. “What the fuck are you starring at bub?” Logan growled out, sounding like death itself. “It’s sure as hell not you, you sawed off piece of shit. In fact I was admiring the red hared slu...” “Scott Summers, Logan! What in the hell is going on here?” a voice yelled as Logan was raising his fist to break the taller man’s face. “In my school for children?” Professor Charles Xavier exclaimed as his motorized wheelchair rolled past a still shocked Jean Grey.

“Two of my teachers, who are supposed to be role models, in a fight? Whatever your differences there is no need for fisticuffs, and in the hallway in plain site of the students no less!” “Chuck, this guy was threatening Jean,” Logan said still starring a hole through the taller Scott.
Xavier looked from Scott to Logan in shock. “Is this true Scott? Where you threatening Jean? I know that the breakup has been hard on you both but...,” he said. “It is a lie Professor. Are you going to believe this murderer over me?” Scott replied with a sneer. “Chuck I can smell her fear, ask her yourself.” Logan said still not taking his flaming eyes off of Scott.

Xavier nodded and turned to Jean, “Jean? Is what Logan said true? Was Scott threatening you?” Jean snapped to attentiveness, “Uh, um, no he didn’t threaten me.” “What!?” Logan roared as he spun to face Jean. Behind him Scott smiled slightly. “Well it was just that I saw him get served with the divorce papers, and the look on his face just...scared me. I’m sorry.” And with that Jean turned and ran away, unable to handle the situation.

Logan glared at Scott one last time and turned and ran after Jean. Scott, still smirking, turned to go when Xavier said, “Scott I would like to speak to you.” “Not now,” Scott replied and walked away before Xavier could argue with him. As he walked away he thought “This is going to be easy.”

Jean ran out of the mansion towards the woods. She knew that Logan was chasing after her because she felt his worry for her and, in a small way, he thrilled in the chase after his mate. But that was the last thing on their minds. She was scared at what Scott hat looked like when he had stared at her and Logan. She was scared at what he could do. But what would he do? She didn’t know, she could not read his mind any more, she had taught him how to shield it to well. All she knew was that he was up to something, she felt it in the back of her mind like a pinprick, and it scared her.

She ran along a slightly familiar path, but she was concentrating on Scott so much that she did not even think of where it led. Logan was gaining ground on her because she could her his growling in still fresh anger, as well as his heavy trod as he lopped behind her at a constant pace, while she was beginning to tire slightly.

She felt his mind begging her to stop and explain what had happened. She wanted to, but not here. Something further down the path was drawing her to it. Logan knew where they were headed, the smells were familiar to him since he came out here every day. When he noticed that Jean was running harder towards her goal, he nodded and matched her pace, keeping her in his sight at all times.

Suddenly Jean burst into the meadow continuing the Shinto Shrine that Logan had built. Finally Jean’s body quit on her after three miles of hard running. She stumbled to a stop and dropped exhausted to her knees on the ground. She was sobbing heavily with tears when Logan reached her a second later. He knelt beside her and pulled her to his chest. Jean wrapped her arms around him and cried into his black shirt.

Logan said nothing as he stroked her hair and began to rocker her gently. Jean clutched at his shirt like a frightened child, still crying hard. Logan kissed the crown of her head and began to hum the lullaby that Jean hummed to him when she held him in her arms at night.

Slowly Jean’s sobs quieted down and she began to rub Logan’s back. Logan glanced down at her and asked, “Are you all right Darlin’?” “Yeah Logan, I am now, but... is what we are doing right?” Jean asked shyly. “I mean, Scott just got the papers today...its only been two months.” Logan heaved a heavy sigh as he continued to stroke her hair. “Jean?” he asked, “Do you regret that we are together?” He pulled her away from him to look into her eyes as she answered his question. Jean looked into his eyes with shock. “God no! Not at all!” she exclaimed as she grabbed at him, throwing her arms around his neck.

“Then how can you question whether it is right?” He asked as he held her away from him to stare into her eyes. “And as far as Scott goes, if he ever looks at you like that or says anything to you again I’ll gut him like a fish. He has no right to treat you like that,” he said. She was looking into his eyes as well as his mind through the psylink, and she knew he was not just posturing for her. He was deadly serious. She knew that this was the feral coming out in him to protect his mate from his rivals, and Scott was the most hated rival of them all. “Oh Logan,” she said tears welling up in her eyes once again, “I love you so much.” Logan brought Jean back into his embrace and whispered, “Hey, I love you too Darlin’. Look where we ended up.”

Jean looked in the direction that Logan was pointing. It was the shrine. Its’ beautiful elegance struck her with the same awe she felt the first time she had stumbled upon it with Ororo. “Logan, I have to say that this is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen,” Jean said. Logan looked down at her and replied, “Thank you Jean, but it doesn’t even compare to you.” Logan pulled her up and asked, “Do you want to go inside?”

Jean was amazed that Logan would ask her to enter into one of the most cherished things he had. Logan read her mind through the psylink and said, “Like I said before, it is nothing compared to you.” Jean felt the tears well up yet again and she grabbed Logan around the neck and kissed him passionately.

When they finally broke the kiss so as not to suffocate each other, Logan took Jean by the hand and walked to the small fountain of water. He removed his boots and socks, washing the dirt off of them with the water. He picked up the wooden ladle and poured water over his hands and feet. He then took another ladle full of water and washed out his mouth.
When he was done he did the same thing for Jean, gently caressing her hands and feet, washing them and loving every inch of her. He handed her the ladle, now full of fresh water, and Jean washed out her mouth. Logan put the ladle back on the fountain’s hook and took Jean to the entrance of the shrine. “Do as I do Jean,” he said.

Jean nodded and Logan clapped his hands three times. Jean did the same and, with Logan, stepped in the shrine. He motioned for her to sit on one of the cherry wood benches while he lit enough candles to brighten up the inside of the shrine. When he was done, Logan returned to Jean and sat beside her. She was smiling at him sweetly. Logan wondered why she was doing that and said, “What?”

Jean’s smile grew and she replied, “You’re at peace here aren’t you?” Logan looked down at his feet for the first time not liking this psylink thing. “Ya, I am. But not as much as when I’m with you,” he replied honestly, looking at her. Jean kissed him on the cheek and said, “I love this place Logan. How did you build it without anyone knowing about it?”

“That was the easy part Darlin’,” Logan said with a grin. “The hard part was keeping people away from it, especially the kids. The way I did it was to build it in reverse. I cleared this meadow then build the shrine. Then I built the path that lead to it.” Jean saw the happiness that flowed from him as he described his creation. “I kept the kids away by telling them not go down the path with out my permission. If anyone would have asked I would have let them come here, they just never did, and no one has stumbled upon the shrine that I know of.” As he said this, his expression dropped to one of sadness. Jean felt that this was another admission of loneliness, and a form of people’s rejection of him. That was what hurt him the most.

Jean knew that he truly loved children, he just didn’t admit it freely because most were scared of him. That was the reason why he had such close relationships with Kitty and Jubilee. They weren’t scared of him like the others. But she, in a way, could not blame them. Logan had a very domineering and dangerous aura. That was just part of who he was.

“Come on Logan lets go back to the mansion, it’s getting late,” Jean said, using her telekinesis to put out the candles. Logan nodded and stood up. “Okay Jean. Face the shrine and clap three times and make your prayers,” he said as he turned and clapped. Jean did the same while Logan walked over to the small box that had hooks and small pieces of paper hanging off of it. Logan took a slip and, mascmasculate script, wrote something in Japanese. He took the paper and hung it on one of the hooks and bowed slightly.

“What is that?” Jean asked. “Hmm? Oh it is a box for wishes you want the gods to grant for you,” he replied. “Does it work?” Jean asked as she walked to the box and took a slip of paper. “Well you are with me now aren’t you?” Jean giggled a little as Logan nussled her neck, placing a kiss on her shoulder. When he stopped Jean wrote a wish on the paper in her hand and hung it up next to his.

“What is your wish?” he asked as he took her y the hand and walked out of the shrine. “What was yours?” she replied playfully. Logan stopped and turned to her with a serious look. “...I’ll tell you later,” he said hesitantly. “Well, mine was for us to be together forever,” Jean said as she hugged him. “Consider your wish granted,” Logan said kissing her head.

Jean looked at Logan and pulled him into a heated kiss. Logan caressed her back as they felt their passion for one another flared up even more. Logan’s hands trailed down her back to her firm rump and squeezed, pulling her into more contact with him. Jean felt his hardness through his jeans as she ground herself against him. Logan growled in his throat as Jean pushed her tongue into his mouth.

Logan pulled away from the kiss and said breathlessly, “We need to get rid of these cloths.” Jean nodded and used her telekinesis to pull his shirt from his body as she unbuttoned her slacks. Logan unbuttoned her blouse and pulled it off of her as she tore at his jeans. They kissed as he pushed down her slacks as she did the same to his jeans. They kneeled on the ground still kissing franticly.

Logan pulled Jean on top of him as he lay on his back, his hand unhooked the clasp of her bra with one flick of his fingers. Jean pulled away from their kiss as she pulled the bra off and said, “Impressive.” Logan chuckled, “It’s like snapping your fingers Darlin’.” Jean smiled sweetly and leaned down to kiss him again. Logan’s hands roamed over her body, playing with her beautiful breasts and firm ass. Logan hooked his hands in her lace panties and pushed them down, loving the feel of her skin.

Jean gasped as his roaming hand found her center. At the same time Logan’s mouth closed around on pink nipple, sucking and biting as Jean soared in passion. Fighting for momentary control, Jean lifted them up into the air and telekinetically pushed off his boxers. They landed again and Logan thought, “I love when you use your powers like that,” still latched onto a nipple.

Jean felt herself near the edge of oblivion and needed more than his fingers inside her. She grabbed his hand and pulled it away from her, “Please Logan. I need you now.” Logan growled as she straddled him. Jean placed him at her entrance and began to sit down on him. Logan grabbed her hips and would not let her lower herself onto him more than an inch at a time, all the while staring into her eyes.

Jean cried out as the ache became too much and she forced his hands away from her hips, slamming down on him. She climaxed with an earth-shattering wave of pleasure. Logan caught her as she fell on him and began to thrust up into her. Jean felt him move in her and the climb to release began again. She grunted as Logan’s hand found her clit, rubbing her as he moved in and out of her at an ever-increasing pace. Jean pushed up from his chest and began to take control.

She moved up and down on him changing the rhythm of their lovemaking, making it more powerful as she thrusted down on him, pushing his upward stroke back down into the ground. Logan liked this rer ser style and his inner mind wanted to take control and take her like an animal would. But Logan let her govern this session of their constant, almost obsessive, love life. He felt her tighten around him again and the feeling brought him to the brink with her.

Jean had increases their pace to a brutal, almost painful pounding. She felt him swell in her and at the same time her own clenching as stars began to burst in her eyes and the bursting of a damn of pleasure inside. Logan grabbed her hips as she climaxed on top of him, and slammed into her, climaxing so powerfully that he howled in an almost painful way.

Jean fell on him and Logan wrapped his arms around her sweaty body. They laid there, panting for breath and listening to each other’s heartbeats. All too soon they were calm enough to get dressed and head back to the mansion. “I love you Jean,” Logan said as she buttoned up her blouse. She looked at him and stepped up and kissed him. She playfully bit his neck and whispered, “I love you to Logan.” He growled in pleasure and grabbed her hand, starting back down the path.

When they came out of the woods behind the mansion it was dark. “Do you think we missed dinner?” Logan asked, his stomach grumbling. Jean laughed at him, rubbing his back with her hand. “Don’t worry honey, if we have I can cook something for you.” “Really? What would you cook?” Logan said with a happy look os fas face.

“What would you want? Steak? A hamburger? Ooh! How about some Mahi Mahi?” Jean said excitedly. Logan smiled at her excitement and said, “I like all three, but I haven’t had Mahi Mahi since I was in Hawaii on a mission for the Canadian government.” “Good I have a great recipe from that Alton Brown guy on TV. What was the name of his show?” Jean asked. “Um...Good Eats,” Logan said as they walked into the mansion.

“Yeah that’s it. Wait, you watch that show?” Jean said as she turned to Logan. “Oh ya. That is how I know how to make pizza.” Jean grabbed Logan by the neck and jumped into his arms saying, “You know how to make pizza!?” The look of pure wonderment on her face made Logan laugh, while he said, “Ya I do Darlin’. In fact I make great pizza.” Jean turned on her secret weapon, puppy dog eyes and that shy, pouty look to hers ans and face that killed Logan, “Pwees Logan, make me a pizza.”

Logan laughed again and said, “Ok, Ok. I’ll make you a pizza but while I’m doing that, will you make me that Mahi Mahi?” Jean, who’s face now looked like an excited school girl, and turned Logan on yet again, said, “YES!! Of course Logan we’ll cook at the same time.” Logan smiled and hugged Jean.

In the next room Scott was listening to their conversation. “The bitch rarely cooked for me,” he thought bitterly. “Well that’s all right, you two won’t be so happy for long.” Scott’s sneer was venomous as he turned to leave the room opposite the way that Logan and Jean were headed. When he turned around he noticed one of the students crouched in the corner starring at him.
“Who is that? Is that Cash?” Scott thought as he starred at the young man in baggy jeans, black tee shire, Lugs boots, and as always, wearing his ever present black duster. “That’s why I couldn’t see him.” Scott thought as he recognized the teen. Alexander Cash was a new student at the institute by a few months. He had arrived just in time to start the new semester at the school and had quickly made an impression not only on the other students, but on the faculty as well. Logan, most especially.

Scott thought that there was a small connection forming between the two. Logan was gruff and a killer with murderous intent. While Alexander, or more known by his code name Shogun, was young, he was deadly. Alexander’s powers were just as dangerous as Logan’s, and possibly more so due to the longer range that he could attack. His mutation allowed Alexander to transform his arms into giant razor sharp swords, and his legs and body sharp to the touch. When he first arrived and he and Logan had tested out
Alexander’s powers, Logan had called him a walking knife. The sharpness of his transformed body was almost the same as Logan’s adamantium claws.
Logan and Alexander shared a common bond in more than one way. They both had a love for Japan, hence, the name that Alexander had picked out with Logan. They talked whenever Logan wasn’t teaching a class on self-defense, or when he wasn’t with Jean. Alexander knew that Logan and Jean were together. He saw it on their faces when they were around him. To Alexander, who had never had a relationship with, but loved a few girls, thought that they fit together.

In fact, he was happy for Logan. Logan was like a big brother to Alexander, who’s own brother hated Alexander. He not only hated him for being a mutant, but also hated him for taking his place as the baby of the family. Todd Cash was normal and bigoted, but Alexander had no love lost for his brother. His sister Mari Cash was another story. She was like Alexander’s second mother. They fought all the time because she teased him on how he dressed or his choice in facial hair, but there was an unbreakable bond between them.

Alexander was a withdrawn soul. That was another reason that he and Logan had connected like brothers. Alexander liked being alone, disliked crowds, and stayed away from the other students except for a select few that had broken through his shell. Logan had told Jean one night that he had watched Alexander with his friends and noticed that he was the one that made them all laugh, especially about himself. “Self –depreciating humor, it’s what makes the world go round,” Alexander had said to Logan when the older man had asked him why he made fun of himself.

Alexander was not a small person. He was of average height, but he had a weight problem. Logan had forced him to jog with him every morning for a month building up his endurance and getting him in shape. But the boy just would not lose weight. “Maybe it is part of my mutation,” he had said to Logan after a three-mile jog. “You know to give me extra padding and protection.” The smirk on Alexander’s face made Logan, wanting to be angry at the self-defeating jibe, laugh hysterically. “Kid,” he had said to Alexander, panting for breath, “you should do standup.”

Alexander had just shrugged and put back on his moody face and walked out of the room. The other students that weren’t his friends steered clear of the walking knife. Not that they disliked him, far from it, he had earned respect for being one of the smartest students to ever come to the Institute, and by being able to put a hurting on an attacking Sentinel. With the sword training and martial arts that Logan had taught him, The Shogun had taken down the huge robot in quick succession.

The Sentinel had attacked the Institute as a feeling out measure by Magneto, and had defeated Storm and Archangel when Shogun had ran up to it with the rest of the school, screaming for him to stop. He had jumped clear of the killer blasts from the robot, and morphed his arms into his five-foot swords and slashed through one of the robots massive legs. The Sentinel then tried to shoot him again, but he was too fast and he succeeded in slicing off the other leg of the Sentinel.

Shogun had then jumped on top of the disabled, but still dangerous robot and hacked into the thing. The other mutants stood around dumbfounded, and the new boy sliced through the mechanical guts of the Sentinel and hacked it to pieces. As Alexander emerged from within the monstrosity, the Sentinel gave one final burst of static that could only be called a death scream, and went black.

Alexander picked up his coat and walked past the shocked onlookers and entered the house like it was nothing. But Logan had heard the excited and blood-hungry yell of victory. That had earned Alexander Cash Logan’s respect. The one thing that Alexander cherished most in his new life as a mutant.

And now he was crouched in front of Scott Summers, one of the originals, the older generation, and now enemy to Logan. “What are you doing Mr. Summers?” Alexander asked with a slightly sarcastic voice. “None of your business Cash. Why are you out of bed?” Scott asked, growing angry at having been caught and explaining himself to a child.

“It’s not lights out for another four hours, Mr. Summers,” Alexander replied as his body rippled with a silver chrome sheen before returning to it’s normal olive-white coloration. “Besides, I could ask you why your are stalking Mr. Logan and Dr. Grey, Mr. Summers,” he virtually sneered, knowing that he had Scott by the balls.

Scott’s anger flamed higher and he stepped to the crouching teen, purposely invading his space. “Listen to me Cash. You saw nothing. You heard nothing. You got me, or you are in deep shit with me, not the school,” Scott hissed out, his hands curling into fists.

For the first time Alexander looked at Scott’s face from the floor where he was starring. Alexander slowly rose from his crouched position, his right hand shimmering in silver and chrome, as the fingers and hand morphed almost liquid into a double sided, razor-sharp instrument of death. Now it was he that invaded Scott’s personal space, lightly, as if a feather was sliding on Scott’s shirtsleeve, Alexander drew his hand up. The sleeve split in to and one single small cut, barely visible, began to ooze a drop of blood.

“Don’t threaten me or anyone I know Mr. Summers. I don’t like threats, I only like promises, and I promise you that if you do anything to Mr. Logan, Dr. Grey, or anyone else that is at this institute, I will slice…you….into…itty…bitty…pieces…so that they could never put you back together again humpty-dumpty.” With each word Alexander, The Shogun, sliced a piece of Scott’s shirt into small pieces. Each pass of his bladed hand caused a small nick, and a drop of blood to ooze out, untiott ott looked like his body began to cry blood.

Alexander turned and walked out the darkened room. When he was gone, Scott let out a small growl of anger and pain. “So Logan has made that innocent kid into another heartless killer, huh?” Scott thought as he walked up to his room. “Well, that is one more reason to destroy him. But that boy is going to be a problem. I’ll have to take care of him too.” Scott sighed as he stepped into the shower to wash off the drops oood.ood. In his mind his plan to prove himself right to everyone changed to take into account of the new threat.

Logan and Jean were in the kitchen eating their culinary creations and talking quietly when Alexander strode in. “Hey kid, what’s up?” Logan said to the somber teen. “Nothing Sensei, just coming to investigate the delicious scents. Hello, Dr. Grey,” Alexander replied to the couple. “Hello, Alexander. You can call me Jean you know. Hardly anyone around here calls me Dr. Grey,” Jean said as she took a bite of the excellent homemade pizza.

“Why does he keep calling me Dr. Grey, Logan? It makes me a bit tense around him. Like I should be formal all the time.” Jean thought to Logan through the psylink. Logan nodded, and, while watching Alexander go to the refrigerator to look for a coke, thought back to Jean. “He is showing you respect is all. He acts more Japanese than I do sometimes. Don’t worry, be yourself, he’s just treating you like a student should treat a teacher. It’s all about respect for one’s elders and leaders.”

Jean smiled at Logan and sent, “elder, huh? Well old man, that makes you a cradle robber.” Logan chuckled under his breath while taking another bite of the perfectly made fish. ” Uh, Sensei, can I speak to you a moment?” The forgotten Alexander said when he had a chance. “Sure kid, what do you need?” Logan replied after wiping his mouth off. Alexander lowered his gaze to the floor and said softly, “No disrespect to Dr. Grey, but I would like to speak to you in private.”

Logan knew that Alexander had no qualms about speaking his mind in front of the whole world, so when he asked to speak in private Logan knew that it was a serious matter. “Okay Alexander. Jean, I’ll be back in a minute.” Jean nodded at Logan as he got up and led Alexander out of the kitchen to the dining room.

“Sensei, is there anyone else around that could overhear us?” Alexander asked in his Texas drawl as he looked around slightly nervous. Logan raised an eyebrow as he looked at the seventeen-year-old boy that Logan thought of as a little, little brother. snifsniffed the air and smelled himself, Alexander, Jean, and a fading Scott. That got his attention. There was blood on the air, Scott’s blood. Logan sniffed again and realized that Alexander smelled of Scott’s blood as well.

“What the hell did you do Alexander?” Logan said with an angry, yet nervous voice. “Nothing Sensei. That’s what I wanted to talk to you about. I caught him listening to you and Dr. Grey when you two came back in. He turned around and saw me, then he threatened me, and you know how I am with threats,” Alexander said, looking down at the floor.

Logan’s mouth was agape. Alexander didn’t like threats. One of the other students had threatened to beat him up if he talked to another young student name Harmony. Alexander had just stared at the other boy and walked up to Harmony and whispered something in her ear. Harmony had walked away to her room when the other older boy came up to Alexander. “What did I tell you fatty? I said, umph…Alexander had punched the other boy in the face, breaking his nose. Alexander then tackled the taller boy to the ground beating him to a pu Log Logan had to pull Alexander off the boy. Luckily the injuries were not that serious, but everyone now knew not to threaten Alexander Cash.

“He did what?” Logan asked as the shock radiated over him. “That’s not the point Sensei. I think he has it in for you and Dr. Grey. He looks like he is losing his mind. I would watch him, he might try something,” Alexander said. “Shit,” Logan replied. “All right, thanks for the information kid, now you go do something with Harmony, she probably misses you. And, don’t worry about Scott. I’ll keep an eye on him,” Logan said as he patted the younger man on the shoulder.

“Yes Sensei, and could you please apologize to Dr. Grey for interrupting ya’lls dinner?” Alexander said. Logan looked at him and replied, “Yeah I will, but do me a favor? Call Dr. Grey Jean. The Dr. Grey thing makes her feel like she is not being formal around you. You know, like making a bad impression.” Alexander nodded and said, “Yes sensei. I will. Good night...Logan.”
Alexander turned and walked away, heading to Harmony’s room. “‘Night kid. Good luck with that firecracker you picked out.” Logan thought as he went back to the kitchen, and a waiting Jean.
