Amara struggled futilely in Lance's arms anew as the last post turned and bared it's gruesome contents. The forms in the cylinders were definitely humanoid but indistinct other than that. "Let me down," she ordered, albeit in a tone several shades removed from her usual imperious one. "Let me down now!"
"No," he snapped, holding her tighter. "God damn it, Tabby! Shut that kid up!"
Lucas only wailed louder at that, his face reddening with each inhale, the volume of his cries near deafening in the enclosed space, ringing off of metal walls. "You think I haven't been trying?" she cried over her son's complaints. "Damn it all!" She squeezed her eyes tight and turned pink herself in suppressed anger and annoyance. "Wanda, bind him or something!" Luca's crying died down a fraction but was still painfully loud. "Fucking Hell!"
Kurt pushed forward, past Kitty and Wanda, to stand next to Lance. "I don't know what's down that hall," he said urgently,. "but I think we might want to find out."
Lance glanced at Lucas and Tabby and shook his head. "Not with a baby. What if it's something nasty?"
Kurt blinked, realizing that Lance was being the reasonable one for once. "Any better ideas then? I am not going to teleport blindly in this place unless I absolutely have to..." His gaze drifted to Kitty, who was bent over Lucas, trying to calm him as Tabby jostled him.
Remy sighed and strode towards the door that had sealed behind them. "D'accord. We gonna go out de way we come."
"Wait!" Kitty cried, starting forward. "Remy, no!" She twisted out of Wanda's grasp and dashed towards Remy as he pressed his fingers against the door.
"Desole, petite," he replied, turning and picking her up bodily, moving her several feet away before setting her on her feet. "Cover y'alls' ears," he ordered a moment before snapping his fingers. The following explosion was far louder than he or anyone had expected, seeming to be several rolled into one, a chain reaction that was so fast it bled together. The walls blew inwards in two places near the columns, sending debris raining down on them. Metal screamed in protest as the blast made it buckle. Tabby's hoarse shout as she bent to cover Lucas was muffled only by Wanda's invective against Remy's parentage as she in turn covered Tabby. Kurt fairly tackled Kitty, knocking her to the ground at the same time Remy did, resulting in a tangle of limbs and tail, a bloody nose and an errant black eye. Rogue dropped to her stomach, covering the back of her head and neck with her hands. Lance and Amara were the only ones who fared well. He did not even drop her as he ducked and huddled, closing his eyes against the rolling explosions.
After what seemed like forever but was actually only a few seconds, the noise stopped. "Remy," Kitty gritted from her place on her back under Kurt and the Cajun. "I was going to say I can phase us all through, damn it."
Remy looked horrified and sheepish at once. "Oh...um...guess mon enthusiasme got in de way."
Tabby growled, getting to her feet. "You're fucking lucky nothing happened to my son!" she howled. "I'll fucking gut you before you even hit the ground if you get him so much as the slightest scratch!"
Remy blinked. "Fair 'nough." He stood and dusted debris from his clothes, offering Kitty a hand up which she refused in favor of getting up on her own.
Kurt sneezed twice in the resulting dust and gestured towards where the door used to be. "You don't know your own strength!" A gaping hole ran roughly the length of the room, the edges jagged and melted in places. The columns were standing but severely buckled and looking very unstable. In one, the human form had been completely inverted so that it floated on it's head. "It would be stating the obvious to say that someone heard that."
Before anyone could respond, a second explosion sounded from somewhere below them, making the floor shake briefly. It sounded different than Remy's, Kitty thought, though she could not say how. "Well, standing here isn't going to help!" she snapped. "Let's get going!"
"Where?" Amara demanded, finally getting free from Lance. She stood somewhat shakily but otherwise upright, leaning only slightly on Lance's arm. "We don't know where we are."
Kitty thought furiously. "Where's a random Hindu deity when you need one?" she muttered, wincing as she half expected Shiva to appear, or worse, Kali. "Okay, then, we just go. Don't get separated," she added, nodding firmly.
"Gee, Kit," Rogue snorted. "That was a stroke of genius. Don't get separated. Sure, why not?"
Kitty narrowed her eyes. She was overcome with the desperate urge to really punch Rogue. Just to hall off and hit her so hard she could feel bone crunch... A wave of nausea washed over her at that thought-that wasn't like her, she thought. _I'd never hit her like that! God, what's wrong with me? _ "Fine, whatever, let's just go! We find the stairs leading up, we find a window...something! Standing here is useless!"
"She's right," Lance added, already starting forward. "The longer we wait, the more likely they'll get to us before we can get out."
Kurt laced his fingers with Kitty's and stated firmly, "If we can get somewhere near the outside, I'll start porting us out of this place."
"Fine, whatever," Wanda snarled. "Less talk, more move!"

Kali grinned, her awareness of everything strangely easy to distill into one idea: Survive. "Now," she purred at the three Pantheonics standing before her. "You have approximately ten seconds before one of those two loses the fight." Her eyes drifted to take in Sabretooth and Poena, bloody and beaten and still going. "After that, I am unleashing everything on you and your lying carcasses."
