~*~*~*~*~Author's Note~*~*~*~*~*

Wow! You guys are the best readers EVER! Yeah, I know my German is a bit lacking, but Its been a good four years since I had a class, and even then I only took two years, putting the rest of my Skillpoints in Latin. I have better sources now, however. And Sassy, I haven't forgotten and I'll try and make the chapters longer from here on out.

"Ummm....Ivy?" Anakalia called, studying her roommate intently with her knowing brown eyes. "Did Aislyn leave something out of the story or are you just...kinda adding chapters as ya go?" She crossed her arms over her powder blue tinker bell pajama top as she finished, a small smirk on her full lips. Ivy thought she heard a snicker, quickly stifled and blushed slightly as she and Nightcrawler drew away from each other, his tail unwinding itself from her waist as he ran a three fingered hand through his blue-black curls.

"Breakfast anyone?" He ventured carefully, glancing about the room at large. He offered a fanged smile. To his relief Dimitri and Aislyn smiled back.

"You made all this?" Aislyn asked, seating herself and piling food enthusiastically on a plate for herself and Dimitri, who was soon plunked down in a seat beside her. He nodded, offering a smile, though it was a bit strained. Ivy saw his tail droop slightly as Rachel scooted her chair a bit away from him.

"So..." Ivy began helplessly, wanting desperately to relive the tension in the room. She glanced around for help, her eyes landing on Aislyn's face. And then the figurative light bulb went on in her mind. "This is Aislyn and her fiancé Dimitri." She said, indicating the couple. "They're the ones who helped me last night." Dimitri waved a greeting with his fork, his cheeks filled with food like a hamster. Aislyn smiled and shook Kurt's outstretched, three fingered hand.

"And this is Rachel and Anakalia." She added, nodding to the two other girls, who grudgingly shook Kurt's hand as well.

"Kurt Wagner." He said by way of introduction, German accent prevalent in his mellow voice. "Though in the Munich circus I was known as the Amazing Nightcrawler."

"The circus? Get out." Anakalia scoffed. But, Kurt was adamant. They spent most of breakfast listening to Nightcrawler spin tales of life in the circus, of his foster mother, Margali and his work on the trapeze. He even went so far as to demonstrate his acrobatic abilities, balancing on one hand on the back of Ivy's chair as he spoke.

Neither Rachel nor Anakalia missed the way their roommate’s gaze seemed glued to the blue mutant, nor the way her fork missed her mouth on several occasions. Dimitri and Aislyn either didn't notice or thought it a grand thing that Ivy was finally interested in a guy, considering how long it had been since she'd had a boyfriend, much less been on a date.

Rachel still had her reservations. She loved her roommates like sisters, and while Kurt was charming and polite, she had seen enough specials on A&E to know that that was how women were lured to their deaths. She didn't want that. On the other hand, she didn't want to believe this gentleman in demon's clothing could be like that, for Ivy's sake. She had seemed so happy to be helping him. She sighed and refrained from chasing her egg across her plate and rose to her feet, forcing a smile.

"I've gotta go to work in a bit." She explained as she carried her plate to the sink and rinsed it off. "Ivy...can I have a word with you?" She cast Anakalia a meaningful glance and she followed the two others into the living room, out of earshot of the kitchen where Dimitri and Aislyn kept Kurt occupied with questions about his Circus.

"Look, Ivy," Rachel began, gripping the smaller girl by her shoulders. "I know you like him, but...we really don't know if anything he's saying is true, if we can really trust him at all.." She trailed off as Ivy's face fell and she opened her mouth to protest, eyes flicking to the kitchen. Rachel looked to Anakalia for help. The pink haired girl quickly cut in.

"We'll give him a chance. He can stay, just...be careful, alright?" She said, trying both to be reasonable and cautious. "I gotta go get ready for work too. We'll see you later." She added as she and Rachel made a hasty exit towards the stairs and Ivy returned to the kitchen. She flashed a reassuring smile Nightcrawler's way upon seeing the concern in his chrome yellow eyes. That seemed to be enough and breakfast continued without incident. He seemed to be felling much better, displaying only minor discomfort from the wounds inflicted the night before. She took that as a good sign, a signal of no broken ribs or internal damage. His fever seemed to be gone too.

In what seemed to be next to no time Aislyn and Dimitri were on their way as well, and after Rachel and Anakalia scooted off to work, Ivy found herself alone with Nightcrawler, the house oddly silent, save for the occasional cat demanding attention.

"How many do you have?" Kurt asked with a bewildered laugh as a fat grey cat leapt into his lap. Ivy chuckled as she handed him a cup of coffee.

"Five." She answered. "Anakalia's two, Brandi and Simba, Rachel's Shadow and my Squishy," She pointed to the fat grey cat. "- and Bagera." Her mirth only increased as Nightcrawler rolled his eyes.

"Is that all?" He asked with a wry grin.

"No." She replied lightly. "I've also got three rats, a tarantula, two scorpions and a ball python."

"Mein gott." He muttered, laughing outright now. She laughed too. She couldn't help it. Besides, she couldn't think of anything to say, and she liked the way he sounded when he laughed. Hell. She just liked the way he sounded.

"Anyway, I'm gonna go putz around in the garden, so I'll be out back if you need anything. Otherwise, make yourself at home."

"Danke schon, Liebchen." He said, sipping from the steaming mug and absently stroking the grey cat's fur. It purred loudly as he watched the red-head depart. He should probably try to get in contact with the X-men, let them know he was safe, but all he really wanted to do at the moment was watch the sway of the diminutive young woman's hips, the gentle curve of her legs.

And then the back door was closing with a soft snap and she was out of sight. Kurt looked down at the cat in his lap and transferred the lazy thing to one of the other chairs before following, purely out of impulse. The rain had stopped, thankfully, though the sky remained a bit grey, peeking over the tops of the fruit trees that lined the fence in Ivy's yard. She was on her knees weeding an herb garden, her hands already covered in damp earth. With a wicked grin on his face he 'ported, right to her left. Unfortunately he did not anticipate the mud and consequently landed on his rear.

Ivy nearly jumped out of her skin when he suddenly appeared beside her, and promptly slipped, his feet sliding out from beneath him. She wiped the dirt from her face, or at least tried too, succeeding only in smearing the spatter across her cheek as he clambered to his feet, embarrassment written clearly on his angular face.

"Not quite the entrance I was hoping for." He mumbled, running a hand through his hair as Ivy bit back her laughter. he quickly stopped however when he realized it was only compounding the problem and he focused instead on trying to brush the stuff off of his borrowed pants and shirt. He only stopped when ivy placed a hand on his arm, leading him back inside.

"Maybe a shower?" She asked simply, to which he responded with a nod. "Go on. You remember where it is?" She said, refraining from giving in to the urge to tease the acclaimed acrobat. "I'll bring you up a towel." And, then he was gone in another puff of sulfuric smoke. She shook her head and returned to the laundry room, grabbing a towel off the top of the dryer and trotting towards the stairs. She could hear the sound of the water running already. Brandi and Shadow, lounging on the stairs, watched lazily as she passed, losing interest when she reached the top of the stairs and were asleep again when she raised her hand to knock on the bathroom door.

It swung open slightly, a bit of steam escaping into the hall. She caught a flash of blue in the fogged mirror above the sink and heard the rustle of the curtain. She shook herself. She shouldn't be spying on him in the shower. He was a guest. She'd just leave the towel on the rack on the wall and go back to the garden.

She had barely taken her first two steps when she heard the soft bamf of imploding air. She turned on her heel, intent on leaving before she was faced with another awkward moment like the night before, but a pair of lean, well muscled arms and a bare blue chest stopped her. She felt his fingers lightly trace the corner of her jaw, turning her face upward as he leaned close, his lips pressed hungrily to hers. Her eyes drifted shut as his tongue swept into her mouth and he crushed her to his chest, the towel falling, forgotten, to the floor. His tail snaked around her waist again as he tasted her, heedless of his fangs as they raised little droplets of blood on her lower lip. One hand rested on the back of her neck, the other on her hip as she cupped his face in her hands. She found herself pressed against the cool tile of the bathroom wall, steam swirling around her ankles. He thrust his hips against hers, telling her in no uncertain terms how he felt. She was inclined to agree.
