Feedback: Yes, that would be lovely.
Logan sits up in the bed, frowning down at the sleeping form of
Storm. She had just gotten to sleep and he's not sure if he should
leave or stay. His body and mind fighting against each other. But
something just doesn't seem right and it's making him uncomfortable.
His eyes roam over Storm's body, her smooth skin and soft curves.
Then he sniffs the air. It's not her...she smells like sweat, a sweet
perfume, and the contentness of sleep. But something else lingers to
his nose. A strange mix of scents that he can't quite understand. He
sniffs again, a deep breath.
The scents bombard his nose, offensive to his sensitive sense. The
sharp twist of cigarettes and tobacco, a soft modest perfume, leather
and tension. Logan narrows his eyes and pushes himself out of the
bed, putting on a pair of sweats quickly as the scents become
stronger.
On the bed, Storm sighs and opens her eyes. He glances at her as she
frowns, and gives an irritated huff. "You leaving again? Do you
really think that I'll try something!?" she asks, a hint of anger in
her voice.
Logan sniffs the air again and picks up the distinctive smells of a
male and a female. Goddamnit, he curses.
"Storm, get up...get up now," he says in a tone that doesn't allow
question. Storm watches him curiously for a moment, but seeing his
sharp eyes in the dark watching the door she becomes serious. Moving
out of the bed quickly she moves almost silently across the room,
near him.
"What is it?" she asks in a quiet tone. Logan gives her a hard look
then moves past her to the door. He puts his ear to the door and
listens.
"Which room is it?!" a man's voice asks, and Logan picks up an odd
accent to it. French...maybe...then he remembers. Gambit. He growls
softly in his throat.
"I believe it's this one right here, Gambit," the female says and
Logan has no trouble placing her voice. Why you in on this Psylocke,
he asks himself.
"We've got company, darlin'," Logan mutters and backs away from the
wall. He feels Storm's eyes on him as he releases his claws and
readies himself in front of the doorway. Then she understands and
moves to the side of the door, ready to attack whoever steps through.
She stands naked against the wall, breathing shallowly to keep from
making noise.
Logan smells Gambit and Psylocke get closer then hears them as they
step directly in front of the door.
:::X-Men!! Wake up, the school is under attack! Full alert! The
Brotherhood is here! Full Alert! X-Men!::: Xavier's voice suddenly
booms inside Logan's head and he staggers for a moment. He notices
Storm put a hand to her head and shake it.
And at the exact moment, there is a loud crash and the door explodes
with a red flash. Logan grunts and is hit with a large chunk of
debris but ignores it as the woman comes rushing through the doorway.
Psylocke's eyes are already locked with his and Logan ducks as she
slices at him with the dark pink blade that she manifests jutting
from her hand.
No words are exchanged, one thing he's always admired about Psylocke.
She's a fighter to the bone. He curses loudly as she comes around
with a high kick and he barely gets his hands up to block it before
she's slicing at his midsection again. Xavier's message and Gambit's
fireworks had taken him by surprise and now he's on the defensive,
trying desperately to find an opening to push her back.
"Stormy! Tres bien to see you," Gambit says then gets a bunch to the
jaw from the white haired woman. Logan barely notices though as
Psylocke frowns and suddenly a strong force throws Logan back a
couple steps and she advances on him, her strange dagger slicing into
his right shoulder as he quickly side steps. Logan growls and twists
his fist around and she turns out of the way just as his claws crash
into the closet door she had been in front of.
"What `dat for, Stormy?" Gambit asks, confusion in his voice.
Psylocke glances over at him angrily for just a second and then gasps
as Logan kicks her legs out from under her.
"For interrupting my sleep!" Storm yells angrily. Logan doesn't quite
notice that neither Gambit or Storm are fighting. He lifts his booted
foot and stomps down but Psylocke rolls out of the way quickly. Then
ducks as he slices around with his left first, claws gliding through
the air with a hiss.
"Gambit say we get him already, non?" he says and shrugs, taking a
card out of his jacket pocket. Storm frowns then nods.
"You ain't fuckin' gettin' me!" Logan growls, and dodges another
slice from Pyslocke and answers with a viscous swing of his arm, his
claws catching her hair, cutting it down a foot.
"Damnit!" she shouts.
:::Logan?::: the Professor's voice is suddenly in his head, but Logan
has no time to answer as he sees a bright red glare as Gambit charges
one of his cards and his eyes widen as Storm's eyes go creamy white,
matching the color of her hair. Fuckin' bitch! he growls angrily in
his head.
Logan charges suddenly, seeing his chances of success falling
dramatically as all three mutants are against him now. Gambit tosses
his card and Logan jumps at him, his claws slicing the card in half
in mid air and the two pieces fly as Logan kicks Gambit directly in
the gut. Two explosions erupt at the same moment and he hears a
scream, knowing it belongs to Psylocke as he hears her body hit the
floor behind him.
Logan raises his fist to finish Gambit off just as a flash of bright
light blinds him and his body is thrown against the wall. Before he
can open his eyes and see he can smell burnt flesh and feel searing
hot pain racking up and down his body. He can't hear much except the
crackling of a small fire that was started. Slowly he opens his eyes,
groaning softly as his entire body seems to be on fire.
His vision is distorted for few moments then the room clears and he
can see Storm still standing in the doorway where she had been what
seemed like an eternity ago. His muscles ache as he begins to push
his body up from the floor. He gets a look at the skin of his arms,
the skin dark, and literally bubbling in places.
She struck me with a lightening bolt, he realizes. Bitch is gonna
pay!! I knew she was no good. Storm raises her arm and points a him.
"Just stay down, Logan! This will be much easier if you just come
along without fighting," she says warningly. Logan growls, noticing
Gambit off to his left picking himself off of the floor also. He can
smell Psylocke off to the other side of the bed and hear her moan
slightly. He can't keep fighting these odds, three against one,
especially the three being these mutants.
:::Professor, in deep shit up here!::: Logan sends to the professor.
His skin is already healing rapidly. He glances to the large hole
Storm's strike of lightening has blown in the side of his room and
then back at Storm and the wavering Gambit.
:::On my way, Logan::: It's Jean this time.
"Logan, I don't want to have to do that again," Storm says, taking a
couple steps toward him.
"Yeah, I bet you don't! I knew you were no fuckin' good! If you don't
want to hit me again, then don't! Don't try and sell me you're "I
actually do care," shit!" Logan yells, anger and even a hint of
betrayal sounding in his voice. His eyes are stone and he stands up
straight, and staring at Storm, waiting for her to strike him
down. "Go ahead, Stormy," he growls menacingly.
Storm frowns but then suddenly she puts both her hands to her head
and cries out in abrupt pain. Gambit looks back at her then to Logan.
:::Hurry, Logan::: Jean's voice is in his head again. Logan doesn't
hesitate.
He jumps into the night air and falls, then smashing into the ground
with a teeth wrenching crash, his legs buckling under the sudden
weight and pressure. Logan hits the grassy ground below his room
hard, but begins to pick himself up immediately. His body is
protesting and aching, but he ignores it. Glancing up to his room
three stories up he sees Gambit's head sticking out of his room and
looking down at him. Then the man jumps out after him, landing
gracefully on his feet a few feet away.
Logan growls low in his throat, a deep angry sound. Gambit seems to
realize suddenly that he's down here all alone with the Wolverine,
but he quickly readies himself for a fight.
********
Jean hears Xavier's loud wake up call and quickly jumps out of bed.
She notices Scott is gone an frowns, letting her mind search for him.
He's in the mansion...but unconscious. Jean gasps and runs out of the
room.
Suddenly there's a loud crash down the hall. Like part of the
building had just collapsed. As soon as the eruption ends, she hears
loud groans and curses of pain.
The loud, urgent, emotional thoughts reach her mind even from this
distance.
:::Goddess, Logan, do not fight. I don't want to hurt you.:::
:::Motherfucker!!::: that thought sounds like Logan encompassed in
extreme pain, anger, and betrayal. The thoughts are coming too
quickly and strongly.
:::Just stay down, let him think you are hurt::: That's a women,
someone Jean doesn't know.
:::Watch it wit' `de lightenin', chere::: comes another person's
thoughts.
:::Logan!! Don't make me do this!!!:::
:::C'mon Storm! End this!!:::
:::Professor! In deep shit here!!:::
:::LOGAN!!:::
:::Fuckin' Bitch!:::
Jean fights and finally succeeds in shutting out the voices and moves
down the hallway toward Logan's room.
:::On my way, Logan::: she sends to him.
She reaches out with her mind and find's Storm's. She brushes against
it lightly, testing for walls.
"Go ahead, Stormy," she hears Logan growl loudly. Then Jean picks up
Storm's tension and an intense concentration. That's when she strikes.
:::I do not think so, Storm::: she sends before she overwhelms her
with a mind shot. Causing the brain to become over stimulated and
creat the most massive headache she will ever feel. Jean hears Storm
scream out in pain and miles in satisfaction.
:::Hurry Logan::: she sends. She feels Logan's relief and then his
thought, jumping out a large gash in his room.
:::Professor::: she sends.
:::Did you help Logan?::: Xavier's voice is in her head without
hesitation.
:::Yes, he's outside. Where is everybody else?:::
:::Down here. Beast, Bobby, Rogue, and Jubilee are:::
:::What's going on?:::
:::Brotherhood are attacking. They are trying to save Storm:::
:::I think it's more then that.:::
:::Logan?:::
:::Yes, they are after him as well, I believe:::
:::Yes, Beast just informed me that Sabertooth is leading Toad and
Mystique outside.:::
:::I have Storm and two other people up here. And Storm isn't working
on our side:::
:::Dear, I hoped she had begun to disentangle herself from the
Brotherhood, but it seems Logan was correct.:::
:::Where is Scott?::: she asks, worry getting the best of her.
:::He was attacked by Sabertooth. But don't worry. He is fine. He was
just knocked unconscious and then left alone.:::
:::Alright...what are we going to do now?:::
:::I think you should regroup downstairs. You cannot fight those
three up there by yourself.:::
:::On my way.:::
Just that moment a woman steps through Logan's doorway and Jean gasps
in surprise. Then the dark haired woman, with some type of tattoo on
her face, frowns and connects a fist to Jean's jaw.
Jean grunts in pain and barely gets her arms up in time to block the
second blow. Behind the woman, Storm walks out slowly and watches
Jean through pure white eyes. She wastes no time in stilling this
other woman in mid-swing. The woman's eyes widen slightly then she
frowns, a deadly angry look in her eyes. But Jean ignores her as she
stands and faces Storm.
"Logan knew it all along, yet none of us listened to him. It was all
just an act," she says, taking a step toward Storm.
Storm sighs sadly but doesn't take her eyes away from Jean. "None of
you understand," she says heatedly. Then she raises her hand, palm
facing Jean. A sudden thick gust of wind hits Jean and she is thrown
back. She cries out but doesn't stop until her body collides with the
end of the hallway. Her head smashes into the wall with a sickening
sound and she slumps to the ground.
The wind continues to rip inside the hallway and Jean sees through
blurry eyes Storm's look of surprise and the other woman fighting to
stay upright in the wind.
"For Bloody sake! Stop, Storm! Let go or you're going to kill me!!"
She screams, and as quickly as it had begun the wind dies out. The
other woman gets herself upright and glares at Storm for a moment
before glancing at Jean. Both of them regard her as taken care of and
step back into Logan's room.
"No," Jean says weakly. :::Professor::: She knows she's hurt by how
much effort it takes to send that message to the professor.
:::Jean? What happened?:::
:::Storm...another woman...heading outside...:::
:::I'm sending Rogue up to you:::
Jean doesn't quite hear the last message. She feels her head become
too heavy for her neck to hold up and lets it slump down. Her brain
is one giant tight wad of pain. She can hear and feel her pulse
inside her head as each pump of her heart sends blood pounding across
her mind.
Slowly her vision begins to go dim, then she shuts her eyes. The next
thing she knows is she's no longer awake.
********
Logan's eyes narrow as Gambit sets his feet and his hand disappears
into the inside pocket of his jacket.
"No you don't, bub," he growls and lunges at him. He collides with
Gambit, knocking both of them to the ground. But the other man lands
underneath him and gets the wind knocked out of him. "You're gonna be
sorry you tried to mess with me, Gumbo." He raises a fist, claws
protruding from the spaces above his knuckles. The metal catching the
bright moon, reflecting it in bright specks of light.
"I don' t'ink so, mon ami," Gambit says calmly, then something wraps
around Logan's neck. He grunts and grabs at whatever it is and finds
it slippery, almost slimy and cold. He growls loudly as he's pulled
back off of Gambit's body and hauled to his back on the ground.
Logan reaches behind him and grasps the slimy line and yanks it down
hard. He hears a squeak of pain then a thud as someone hits the
ground. Looking up he sees Toad clamoring to his feet and trying to
retract his tongue that's still gripped in Logan's hand. Logan frowns
at it, but doesn't hesitate to hold the end he has then slice through
Toad's tongue with a smooth motion.
Toad screams out and the remains of his tongue slide back into his
mouth with him holding his hands over his mouth as if it will help
with the pain. Logan doesn't get any time to breathe though, before
he smells the stinging of Gambit's cologne and cigarettes.
"Now you're `da one `dat's gonna be sorry," Gambit says. Logan turns
just in time to see the pink glow of one of Gambit's cards landing at
his feet. Roaring angrily he jumps away from it, but just as it
explodes. The eruption sending his body clear into the air and he
feels weightless for a long moment, just waiting in expectancy for
the ground to come rushing up and meeting him. Then it does, and
Logan's body crashes into the dirt ground, small rocks scraping the
side of his face and chest as those are the first parts of his body
to land.
"HAHA!!! Did you see him fly!?" a dark voice crows in laughter. He
knows that voice much too well. Logan frowns, his arms pushing his
body off of the ground. Aching muscles protesting, but quickly begin
to heal and revitalize as he moves to his feet.
"I had no clue Wolverines could take flight," a woman says in a calm,
calculated voice. He knows that voice as well and growls as he turns
his body around. His eyes sharpen in angry hatred as he glares back
at Sabertooth's smirking face, Mystique next to him with Gambit
stepping up behind them.
I can't take all of them on, he thinks to himself. They're too much
at once.
"Oh look, I think he's angry," Sabertooth says, a voice that's raspy
and dark.
"Jus' come wit' us, Wolverine, and everthin' will be fine," Gambit
says.
"I'd rather eat shit," Logan growls and launches himself forward in a
beserck attack. Knowing it's his last ditch effort. He reaches
Mystique first. Caught by surprise, Mystique screams in pain as his
claws slide roughly through the skin of her side, piercing through
her ribcage. Logan sees red hot rage in her yellow eyes before she
whips her arm around and punches him across the face, then brings a
calculated kick to his gut. He grunts as his body is forced to hunch
over. Then he's grabbed by a vise like grip from behind. He gasps for
breath as thick fingers wrap around his neck.
"Looky what I found," Sabertooth growls, leaning in close and Logan
can smell his strong stench. His nose wrinkles in disgust. He
struggles but that only results in Sabertooth lifting his shorter
stature off of the ground, choking him even more. He hears Sabertooth
sniff the air and feels his sharp claws dig into his skin. "You've
been with Ororo, haven't you, shrimp?!" he ask. Logan can't help but
lower his eyebrows in confusion.
Who? he asks himself.
Logan ignores the question and growls, reaching back and stabbing
Sabertooth's arm. The larger man roars in pain and drops Logan to the
ground.
"'Dat isn' comin' along nicely, Wolverine," Gambit says and taps his
finger against a card he's holding in his hand. "You really want
Gambit t' use `dis, mon ami?"
"Can it Frenchy!" Sabertooth says angrily and glares down at
Logan. "Wolverine's mine!"
With that, Sabertooth charges Logan with a viscous roar. Logan
crouches low and as Sabertooth reaches him, he aims his claws
straight at him. Six admantium claws sheath themselves deep within
the flesh of Sabertooth's shoulders and chest. But he tackles Logan
like a train, not even recognizing the pain.
"Magneto won't be too pissed if we just come back with one,"
Sabertooth says angrily as he raises an arm to rake his claws down on
Logan.
Logan sheathes his claws quickly and brings both of his hands up,
catching Sabertooth's arm in mid-swing. The blond haired man roar's
angrily, only inches from Logan's face, then smashes Logan across the
head with his other massive set of claws. Logan hisses in pain and
can feel the blood from each deep gash in the side of his face. He
snarls and his claws slide out of his hands again with a "snipkt"
sound.
"You're gonna pay for that, bub," he growls, but Sabertooth only
sneers and snaps his teeth at him.
"Victor!" says a strong, commanding, very female voice. Both
Sabertooth and Logan halt and turn to look as Storm seems to float
down from Logan's room and land softly on the ground. "Stop right
there!" she commands, pointing at Sabertooth. Logan knows he should
be taking advantage of this distraction and finish Sabertooth off,
but he can't seem to take his eyes off of Storm. She's dressed
quickly in her jeans and t-shirt but it's something else about her
that captures their attention. Something stronger. The wind picks up
around her, whipping the long white strands of her hair around like
white flames and only adding to the effect. Her eyes complete white,
matching her hair and the sky is so blue it's almost black from storm
clouds, lighting lacing across the sky in intricate spontaneous
patterns.
"Back off, `Ro!" Sabertooth growls, his face turning back to glare
down at Logan.
"You're not killing him," Storm says strongly then a violent gust of
wind hits Sabertooth, knocking him clear off of Logan and to the
ground. He growls and quickly picks himself off the ground, eyes
staring heatedly at Storm now. Logan grits his teeth and pushes
himself to his feet as Storm approaches with Psylocke following who
had just gotten out of his room.
"Now come on, Logan, nobody's going to hurt you. Magneto just wants
to see you is all," Storm says, her voice softer now.
"Yeah, I'll bet," Logan says and readies himself as she steps even
closer. "All this trouble just to catch up on old times, I figure."
He frowns at her small smile and the way the rest of them are
beginning to surround him.
"Well, the not hurting you part is still true," she says, her smile
growing a bit. "Now come on, don't make this difficult."
"That's too bad, I'm a big fan of difficult," Logan says just before
he lunges at Storm. He watches as his claws come within inches of her
face before something strikes him. A brilliant flash of light blinds
him and his body stops dead at the sudden searing, overwhelming pain
flowing down his body. It all happens so fast but he can feel each
detail, each hair on his body standing on end, each charge frying
over the metal overlaying each of his bones that it seems to take
forever. Then he roars in pain as his body flies back a few yards and
collapses on the ground in a smoking heap.
The first thing that Logan can even manage is a choked cough, which
releases smoke and he can taste the burnt skin of his mouth and
tongue. Fuckin' Christ, he thinks. She fuckin' fried me worst then
before!!
"Is he alright?!" he hears her ask somebody. Then he hears footsteps
move beside him and a boot push against him roughly. The touch
sending his skin afire and he groans loudly, gritting his tightly to
try and concentrate away from the pain.
"Oui, he fine," Gambit answers.
"Then hurry, someone pick him up. We need to get out of here before
Xavier and his students get here!" Pyslocke says quickly. Then Logan
can feel an arm grab him roughly, his skin still burnt and burning
from the lightening Storm had hit him with, he shouts in pain.
"Victor! If he dies, I'm holding you accountable!" Storm says
sharply, and the hand hesitates, before finally Logan is lifted, not
too gently and moved over Sabertooth's shoulder as he begins stalking
away from the mansion.
Logan opens his eyes slowly only to see the side of Sabertooth's
face, which brings all the anger back up. He manages to get one set
of his claws to unsheathe, but not in time. Sabertooth notices and
shakes his head, smiling evilly at Logan.
"You never learn, do ya, runt?!" he asks, then smashes Logan in the
temple with his fist. That's enough to make Logan go unconscious as
his body taken too much damage, mostly from Storm's lightening bolt.
His head sags as his eyes close again, darkness consuming him.

:::C'mon Storm! End this!!:::
:::Professor! In deep shit here!!:::
:::LOGAN!!:::
:::Fuckin' Bitch!:::
:::Professor::: she sends.
:::Did you help Logan?::: Xavier's voice is in her head without
hesitation.
:::Yes, he's outside. Where is everybody else?:::
:::Down here. Beast, Bobby, Rogue, and Jubilee are:::
:::What's going on?:::
:::Brotherhood are attacking. They are trying to save Storm:::
:::I think it's more then that.:::
:::Logan?:::
:::Yes, they are after him as well, I believe:::
:::Yes, Beast just informed me that Sabertooth is leading Toad and
Mystique outside.:::
:::I have Storm and two other people up here. And Storm isn't working
on our side:::
You cannot fight those
three up there by yourself.:::
:::On my way.:::
:::Jean? What happened?:::
:::Storm...another woman...heading outside...:::
