Chapter Five

A/N: I love you all. I’m trying, I’m trying. Muahahahaha.

Scott woke up and stretched. He turned over, intent on telling Jean about the dream he’d just had when he got a shock; it hadn’t been a dream. He really had been sleeping in Logan’s arms. Not that he was complaining. He and Jean were probably over.

Logan woke up and smiled to the ceiling. He’d just had this wonderful dream. He inhaled deeply and realized it wasn’t a dream. Cyke really had been with him, wanting him. Albeit the boy had been slightly drunk. . .

Scott looked at Logan, saw him wake up. He wondered how Logan was feeling now. Dear Lord, why ever had he been drunk? Granted, this attraction had just shown up, but couldn’t it be an aftereffect of the alcohol? He hoped not; he actually kinda liked Logan.

Logan heard Scott moving, but didn’t look up. He had no idea what Cyke would be thinkin’. He breathed in and out carefully. Hen’t n’t get his hoped up; Fearless Leader couldn’t really hold his liquor. He didn’t indulge very often.

Both fearing the other’s reaction, neither spoke for a few moments. Scott made the first attempt. “Um, morning, Logan.”

Logan turned to him. “Mornin’, Boy Scout.”

Scott sighed. “I do have a name, you know.”

Logan smiled. “I know. I don’t like to use it.”

“Why ever not?”

“Cuz that would make it too easy for you.”

“Couldn’t have that, now could we?”

“Course not! You kiddin’?”

Scott sighed. “Look, Logan, about last night. . .”

Logan put a finger to Scott’s lips. “I understand. You were drunk, and probably responding to the tension I felt. I’m sorry.”

That wasn’t what Scott had expected. He opened his mouth to object, but Logan shook his head. “Don’t say anything.”

“But, Logan. . .”

“Scott. . .”

“Dammit, Logan will you PLEASE listen to me? Don’t assume you know everything; you have no idea.” That shut him up. “Thank you. Now, as I was saying, if YOU don’t want to continue this, I completely understand. I do. Yes, last night I was drunk, kinda, but right now, I’m not. I know that what I feel for you is real. I can’t go back to Jean. That’s over. Okay, I’m shutting up now.”

Silently, Scott stood and grabbed the shirt he’d discarded last night. He began to leave, but Logan grabbed his arm and pulled him back to the bed. “Stay a while. No classes today, right?” Scott shook his head. “Stay. Please?”

Scott smiled as he settled back down, as Logan wrapped him in his arms again. It was nisomesometimes, to feel protected. He usually did the protecting.

Jean awoke, hoping Scott had slipped back in bed in the night, as he sometimes did. He wasn’t there. She noticed that it had rained. Had he been out in that? She worried a little. She hoped not. It would be her fault. She got up and wen loo look for him.

Scott and Logan spent half the day curled up in Logan’s room, just talking. Scott forgot about Jean entirely (serves her right, doncha think?) and enjoyed his conversation, which was occasionally punctuated by random making out. They didn’t go farther than that. I am going to be a bitch now, and leave it at this. *insert evil laugh here*
