“He’s a
grown man! He can do what he wants!”

“But this
is just WEIRD!”

Professor Xavier
closed his eyes and counted to ten before responding as calmly as he could manage.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “My choices are my own.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> My life is my own.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Contrary to what many of you seem to think, I
have needs and urges and desires just like the next man.”

class=GramE>“Yeah… if the next man was a woman!”

“LANCE!”

“OW! Watch
it with the lightening bolts!”

Professor
Xavier straightened himself up in his chair, sitting tall and imposing.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “I am disappointed that all of you seem to be
so narrow minded and even more disappointed that you seem to lack courtesy,
disturbing someone’s privacy as happened and further, attempting to make a
mockery out of someone’s personal time and habits.”

“Professor,”
Kitty began, but was stopped by an angry glare.

“I need to
correct myself. Not all of you.” His
eyes moved from face to face in the room, measuring the guilt on each countenance.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Some of you understand privacy and respect. class=GramE>Kurt, for example.”

“Danke,”
Kurt murmured, feeling he should say something but unsure of what, settling on
thanks for some reason he could not divine.

“Professor,”
Todd said slowly, trying to think of how to phrase his thoughts, “I didn’t mean
to bust in on you… and I know I was wrong to bust out like that and…” He
sighed. “I’m sorry, right?”

“Me too,”
several voices murmured, most of the students in the room looking a little or a
lot ashamed of themselves. Jean, dark
circles under her eyes and face pale from lack of sleep, stepped forward.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “I’m sorry, Professor,” she said quietly, “I
should’ve stopped them. I knew…” she
paused, color rising in her wan cheeks, “I knew what was going on but I didn’t
stop them at first.”

The
Professor sighed. “I understand there’s
a natural curiosity, especially where teachers and other authority figures are
concerned, but I thought you were all more mature than this.”style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He tapped his fingers on the arm of his
wheelchair, assessing them all with the same cool, introverted gaze.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “I am not going to mete out a punishment for
this but I am going to reiterate my disappointment.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> You are all more than students to me… you are
family. And to be treated thusly…”style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He shook his head.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “I have no more to say to you.”

The small
group parted as he moved to the the, the wheels of
the chair shushing silently on the Aubusson rug.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “I think,” he said after a lengthy, tense
pause, “that you all have some thinking to do.”

“But,” Todd
began, but was cut short by a growl from Logan.

“I think he
just wants to say…”

“Watch it, Half Pint…”

“But…”

“Everyone
silent,” Storm intoned, casting a pall of silence over the room as the Professor
made his exit.

Logan,”
Kitty said quietly, “why didn’t you let anyone tell him he still had his bath
cap on?”

“Half Pint,
the man had his bubble bath ruined… he’s been through enough today.”
