Chapter Five.
Four hours later, Marie was awake and resting in the med lab.
The battery of test’s the new doctor had put her through were exhausting, but she was happy in the respect she had gained control of her skin.
Logan hadn’t left her side the whole time she had been down here and had at one point been threatened by Hank to be forcefully removed if he didn’t behave and let him run his tests.
Marie had been very surprised when she first caught sight of the new doctor!
He was blue!
He was big and had fangs and claws!
Yet he was incredibly gentle with her and had explained everything he was doing and so finally putting Logan at ease.
At long last she was alone with Logan. All her friends had been down to visit her in the lab, they had pestered her none stop till finally with a loud growl from Logan they had all left in a hurry.
Marie smiled at this thought, looking at Logan now she wasn’t so sure what she should say.
Logan had phoned her occasionally from Canada to tell her about some of the women he had seen but they had never lasted.
Always he had asked her opinion but what could she truly say?
She had loved him since she had first laid eyes on him but knew that he would never want her.
Yet if she had heard him correctly, he loved her!
You and I have been best friends for years
Through good and bad you're always here

So when you asked me 'Wussup'
Find you a girlfriend to hook up
Now you were looking for 'the one'
Marie decided to play it cool; she wasn’t going to let Logan know she had heard him.
Marie was going to rope Kitty and Jubilee in with a plan to get Logan to admit his love for her, only problem was she didn’t have a plan as of yet.
It was time to play things cool.
Logan sat beside her and took her hand in his; he still couldn’t believe he was touching HIS Marie without a barrier of some description. His thumb gently stroked her hand.
Lost in thought he missed the speculative look on Marie’s face as she watched him.
I got this feelin' so deep inside of me (then)
So suddenly I came to realize that I
Got to have you
And I don't know what I should do
And I'm guessing that you don't have a clue
But I'm thinking that we would be cool
Let's try it out and see
How happy we could be
Then maybe you would be in love with me
Logan could remember if at any time in his past he had had a lasting relationship, since waking up in the snow naked and his claws his new ‘accessories’, he had never gone past just a few days with the same female. Yet with Marie the way he was feeling was simple, ‘MINE’ was what went round and round in his head, Wolverine was adamant about that, Logan for once was in total agreement.
But the big question was how did he go about making her his?
Jean had told him after the Liberty Island incident that she was ‘Quite taken with him’.
Did she still feel the same?
He knew that at the time he gad played it down with Jean by telling her that his heart belonged to someone else, he wished now that he hadn’t.
He was relieved that the Popsicle had called it off as he was too scared of Marie’s skin.
Now she had control he had tried to weasel his way back with Marie but she had blown him off saying he was right to begin with, she was dangerous and his fear would always be there and it would ruin any relationship they may have.
She was a smart girl his Marie.
I tried to ignore this silly feeling of mine
But I couldn't help but find some girls
That weren't your kind (I)
Hooked you up with Lisa cuz she wasn't too bright
And I hooked you up with Sheila
Cuz I knew she wasn't right (then..)

Maybe he could get Scot to help him with this crazy idea of wooing Marie, if not maybe wheels of the new doc could help.
