Emily woke early the next morning. She slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She gazed down beside her and smiled. Logan lay on his back, his arms rested on his chest and his leg was draped on top of the sheet that barely covered his waist. She could tell he was still in a deep sleep, by his shallow breathing and the way his eyes shifted under his lids.

The smile soon faded and she looked away from him. She knew it was going to be hard to leave, but thinking of last night was making it worse. It had been a long time since she felt this way and didn’t want to let it go, but she had to. She couldn’t wait any longer for Charles and felt she owed it to herself to maaberabertooth pay for what he did.

She glanced down at Logan one more time, and then quietly slipped out of bed. She grabbed her robe from the floor and put it on, before leaving. She yawned and stretched her way back down to her room.

She forced the thoughts of Logan out of her head and tried to focus her energy on finding Sabertooth. Quickly she got dressed, gathered her things and left.

Emily reached the woods an hour later and immediately began searching. All coherent thought was gone except for what she’d do to Sabertooth if she found him. She’d waste no time in torturing him and would make his death quick.

Every so often, she’d come to a halt and sniff at the air, hoping to pick up Sabertooth’s scent, but so far, there was nothing. She started to become anxious and impatient. He had controlled her attention long enough and couldn’t wait to get this over with so she could go back to her life.

As she crept deeper into the woods, she froze and this time she smelt it. A fowl, musky stench filled her senses and her body tensed. She cautiously stepped forward, ignoring the knots in her stomach as best she could. If she let her nervousness take over now, she be sure as dead.

She took another step forward, listening intently. Behind her, she could hear twigs snapping austlustling in the bushes. She hesitated, then turned quickly, but it was to late.

A dart flew out from the bushes, striking her in the neck. Emily screeched and fell to the ground. Toad emerged from the woods, with the dart gun firmly gripped in his hand. He stood before her and a malicious grin formed on his face, then crouched down and picked her up. He tossed her over his shoulder and took off.

Logan sho shortly after Emily had left. He inhaled deeply, taking in Emily’s lingering scent. The room smelled of lust and sex and he grinned. He rolled over and reached his arm out and when he didn’t feel Emily beside him, he quickly sat up. He glanced fervently around the room, but Emily was nowhere to be found.

He jumped out of bed, fumbled to get dressed and hurried down to her room. When he didn’t find her there, his body tensed and his mind began to race. He knew there was something odd in her voice last night wshe she said she was sorry too and used his name. She sounded as though she was not only apologizing, but saying good-bye as well.

“Shit!”

He cursed himself for ignoring her reply, despite what his instincts were telling him. He could feel his anger and frustration take over his body as he rushed out of her room to the garage. He was pissed that he allowed himself to be so naïve and was infuriated that she left regardless of what he said.

She was definitely brave, he’d give her that, but what she was doing was suicide. If she were to find Sabertooth, he’d sure as hell rip her apart, especially since she escaped him and was now hunting him.

The more Logan thought about Sabertooth and what he’d do to her, the more enraged he got. By the time he mounted Scott’s motorcycle, all coherent thought was gone. The only thing flashing in his head was what he’d do to Sabertooth once he found him, regardless if he hurt Emily or not.

Logan pulled up to the outskirts of the woods and climbed off the bike. He sniffed at the air and Emily’s fading scent engulfed his senses. He wasted no time and started trudging into the woods.

Once he came to the area where Toad had captured her, he hesitated. Again he sniffed at the air and he could smell Toads fowl, musky stench and then it hit him. Sabertooth’s scent wafted towards him. A low growl formed in his throat and his claws swiftly extracted. His brow narrowed and his icy brown eyes were practically squinting, as he continued to scour the woods.

He made his way through a patch of thick trees and bushes and came to a small clearing. He looked to his right and saw a sewer tunnel sticking out of a hill. The tunnel was partially hidden from the branches of trees that stood on both sides of the tunnel. He glared harshly at the tunnel and clenched his fists. He growled viciously and stormed into the tunnel.
