Unknown Ground.
Chapter Four.
By Ladylupin Lycanthrope.
Fandom: X-men, comic-verse.
Pairing: Archangel/Wolverine.
A/N: I just wanted to clear a few things up. The timeline in this story is a bit wrong. The X-men in this story are Cyclops, Jean Gray, Iceman, Beast, Archangel, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Jubilee, Gambit and Bishop. Northstar might make an appearance as well. I like him.

Wolverine managed to eat his breakfast and get back to his room without anyone seeing him. He wasn't hiding, he just wasn't in the mood to explain the situation to every person he came across. He would rather just wait and talk to everyone at one, though he was suprised that nobody knocked on his door, seeing how he thought that Scott and Remy would say something to the others. But judging from some of the sounds coming from down the hall, those two might not have left Scotts room yet. Everyone had wondered how Jean and Scott could go from being the perfect couple to filing for divorce. Logan had known, of course, because of his animal senses. He hadn't liked that Scott was cheating on Jean, but he did like that Scott no longer assigned those five AM Danger Room sessions. Wasn't his bisness, anyway.
Logan slept for a few more hours, and was woken up around noon by a light knocking at his door. Sliding out of bed, he answered it to see Warren standing in the hallway.
"What are you doing here?"
Warren held out his hand. "I said I would teach you to fly, didn't I? Come on."
Logan waved both hands in a 'No Way' motion. "No. It's broad daylight, and I just know i'm gonna fall on my ass. We do this when nobody is around."
"I thought you might say that. Don't worry, we have the place to ourselves. All the girls are out shopping, the guys are all out doing who knows what, Scott and Gambit left 5 minutes ago, and the professer is still in Washington.Come on!" Warren grabbed Logan's hand and pulled him out the door.
"Fine. But after this we go to the danger room an' put you on the spot.", was Logan's reply as Warren let him toward the roof.
"Deal. That would probably be best, anyway. I haven't felt quite like myself all morning."
"What do ya mean?"
A sigh. "I have no idea what I mean. Everything about my body just seems off. Jean's perfume made me gag. Jubilee opened the curtins and the sunlight gave me a migrain."
"The senses are kicking in."
Warren looked down at Logan. "What?"
"I've got hightened animal senses, remember? Guess they're coming out in you, too."
"Wonderful." Warren sighed wistfuly."Any other little suprises I should look forword to?"
Logan gave a shity little smirk. "Yea. All this hair is an outword sign of my mutation. Kinda like Gumbo's eyes. Think you'll get it to?"
Warren looked down at him in horror.
"Only time will tell.", Logan laughed. "Did ya show em your claws?"
"No. It's too new. I didn't feel up to answering all their questions." He gestured to Logans wings. "When are you gonna tell them about those wings?"
"Probably whenever people get back. I ain't gonna hide. Just wanna get it over with."
They reached the door to the roof. Logan opened the door. Sunlight streamed in. Warren covered his eyes with one hand and used the other to fell his way out onto the roof. Logan chuckled and followed close behind.
"Why isn't the sun bothering you?" Warren demanded as he slowly regained his sight.
"Ya get used to it, bub."
Warren leaned over and took Logan's hand. Grinning like a fool, he led the older mutant to the edge of the roof. Logan looked over the edge to see the front drive, five stories below.
"Maybe we could start closer to the ground?"
"Don't you have a healing factor? And really hard metal bonded to your butt?", For the life of him, Warren couldn't stop grinning. He and Wolverine had never been close, but now he was really enjoying himself. He gently pushed Logan to the edge of the roof.
"Now Logan, there is really only one way to learn to fly. I like to call it the 'Sperrow Way'."
"And what way would that be?" Logan was still looking down at the grounds, and didn't notice when Warren slipped behind him.
"A good boot out of the nest." And with that, Warren pushed Logan over the side.
"GHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", Logan's voice got progressivly dimmer as he plummited five stories and landed on his ass with a crash that rocked the foundation. Warren calmly walked to the edge of the roof, but didn't have to look down, as Logan was soon face-to-face with him.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?!"
"Logan, look down." Warren said calmly.
Logan blinked a few times, then looked down and relised his feet were not touching the ground. He had come back up, and was now hovering five stories up, directly over where he had hit the ground.
Warren grinned at him. "The day I got my wings, I was flying on them within fifteen minutes. I hit the ground a few times as well, though not from so far up, but got the hang of it almost immediatly. I'm sorry, but I couldn't think of any other way to teach you."
Logan was fast forgetting his anger. The feeling of being this weightless was impossible to discribe. While he was used to his metal bones, they always made him fell so heavy. He wasn't feeling all that weight for the first time in forever, and it felt wonderful. Warren launched himself into the air. "Try it out, Logan. Go ahead and fly."
Logan looked at his companion for a few seconds, then grinned and took off along the grounds. At first it was a bit strange. It took a few minutes to get used to the slight pulling sensation in his back. He soon forgot it however, as he landed back in front of Warren.
Warren Grinned even wider. "Danger Room?"
"Danger Room."
And with that, Warren lept off the roof toward the ground. Logan followed, with a look of great anticipation on his face.
