Stranger than Fiction

A week passed and not much happened until today. Over the past week Logan had decided to train Matthew in hand to hand combat. How Logan went about doing this was as safe as he could make it. He went deep into the wooded area behind the school and cleared a large area and laid out some equipment. Logan had only showed Matthew some basic Martial Arts punches While Rogue and Kurt helped him with some stretches which resulted in a nasty groin pull but thankfully his abilities took care of the injury before it become any real problem. As Well Kurt attempted to show Matthew some gymnastics which resulted in all of the gymnastics equipment having to be replaced as well as a few more pulled muscles in "personal areas" as Rogue called them. As for today however Logan had returned to Hook Island with Xavier and Hank to look for any remnants of Magneto or the others. While Storm found herself having to take care of a Mansion full of hormone charged teenagers by herself.


"Matthew Please you must continue your training."

"Come on Ro give me a break I am starving!!.. I mean I know even you can hear my stomach growling!" Matthew said as another rumble was heard over the intercom in the danger room

"Not until you finish the obstacle course Matthew. Now I am continuing the program prepare yourself. ..5...4..3..2..1..GO!" Storm said turning back on the Program Logan had hand picked for Matthew's training session

"But I a..SHIT!!!"

Matthew said rolling out of the way of a large laser blast. As Soon as he stopped moving and started to raise his head four large razor edged wheels came out from under and above him. Matthew jumped back and kept moving

"Can I at least hit these damn things?! Come on they ain't gonna hurt me!" Matthew said running and dodging Laser blast after laser blast at his full speed.

"That is not the purpose of this exercise Matthew. We are trying to build up your reflexes. You may not see the point in this exercise at the moment but you will come to appreciate this when you come across some of our more creative advisories. Now please just focus on what you are doing. You may not be injured if you are hit but some of the equipment will be." Storm said as Matthew kept moving

"I know that I am just so damn hungry! I ain't even had breakfast yet! Come on I am running on fumes here Ro! " Matthew said sliding under blades shooting out of the walls and rolling out of the way as a large steel weight fell from the ceiling to the ground where he had been laying just a moment before

"The Program is almost over just hold out for a few more moments." Storm said

"Ok....damn it." Matthew said under his breath

As soon as Matthew said this 10 more panels of the wall opened up and laser cannons came out of each one. The walls were now lined with laser cannons as well as razor disks being shot out from every angle. Matthew took in a deep breath and braced himself for what was about to happen. As soon as he did this he heard all the Cannons powering up and the other weaponry receded back into the wall.

"Well, this don't look goo...Shit!!"

Matthew did not get to far into his sentence when all the lasers turns towards him and start firing at full power in succession. Matthew took off running at his cheetah like speed jumping diving and dodging the laser blasts as he made is way to the other side of the room. When he reached the center of the room more panels opened shooting out razor disks all at once. Matthew hit the ground as they all collided into each other sending sparks everywhere. As Matthew raised to his feet more panels opened sending out weighted steel blocks from every direction.

"Can I hit these damn things?!!" Matthew said dodging the blocks being thrown at him from every angle

"Yes, but please try and keep them from striking any of the laser cannons..they are very expensive." Storm said over the intercom

"Got it." Matthew said with a smirk before he stopped moving and just stood still

As He did this steel blocks came at him from every direction some mixed with razor disks but Matthew didn't flinch he just took a deep breath and closed his eyes. After his resurrection He had discovered that his skin took in sensations differently than before. He could feel himself being struck but no feelings of pain were felt from the blocks striking his body. Strangely he felt pain from the procedure Hank had performed to acquire skin and blood samples but shortly after he felt something change again. He had also noticed he was still getting taller and was putting on more muscle mass while he slept.

"WOW who the hell do you think you are, Superman?" A voice said over the intercom with a faint southern accent

Matthew couldn't help himself and started laughing. Just as the voice said Matthew was looking very much a Superman as a now seven foot two inch grey mutant could. He was standing as still as a statue as disks and blocks colliding with his body shattering, sparking, and ricocheting off of him into the walls around him. Soon after they stopped and Matthew heard the lasers powering back up. unlike before however the lasers all turned to his direction.

"Damn now what?" Matthew though bracing himself for anything

Soon after saying this the lasers finished powering up and all fired at once. Out of instinct Matthew jumped high into the air as the laser blast all collided into one huge ball and an explosion rocked the Danger room sending Matthew higher and causing him to crash into the Ceiling of the danger room and falling back down to the ground with a hard earth shattering crack.

"Is it over yet?!" Matthew asked laying ask still laying on the ground in the same position he had landed in.

Storm and Rogue rushed into the room just as he said this. Rogue ran over to Matthew while Storm looked to see if any of the equipment was damagedin the explosion.

"Matthew you OK?" Rogue asked helping Matthew up

"I am fine just got the wind knocked out of me.....Shit I broke it didn't I?" Matthew asked looking at a canon with its casing ripped open from a razor disk.


"No, none of the wiring was damaged and the casing can be replaced easily. The important thing is you are OK. You are all right aren't you? That was very nasty fall you had." Storm asked walking over to Matthew

"Yeah I am fine. Nothing bruised bloodied or broken and if it was it ain't anymore." Matthew said looking down at Storm as she walked up to him.

"Yes, I suppose that would be true wouldn't it? Now please go wash up and head to Hank's lab to get yourself a protein drink. .. As for you Rogue meet me in the gym in one hour for martial arts training. Until then you may do as you wish." Storm said before turning and leaving the room

"Why the hell is she making everyone train today?" Rogue asked curling her nose and crossing her arms

"Well, way I figure is it's either run us all into the ground till we can barely breath or put up with everyone fighting since Logan and the others ain't around. If I was in her shoes I would do the same thing." Matthew said stretching and popping his back

"Yeah I guess. But what about tonight? If she keeps this up no one will even be able to get out of bed let alone go to the movies. And I really want some time alone with you today." Rogue said with a sigh

"Hey no need to worry I will be fine as long as I get me enough to eat we will be able to go on our date tonight. And if you aren't we can just stay here and I will rent some movies and order a pizza OK?" Matthew said wrapping one arm around Rogue and kissing the crown of her head.

Rogue smiled and nodded her head.

"Ok....well we got an about ohh.....forty-five minutes before I have to start getting ready for martial arts training what do you want to do till then?" Rogue asked looking up at Matthew with an evil little smirk

"...I uh..welll....." Matthew said sounding nervous

Rogue laughed

"You are so silly you know that? I mean you seen me naked hell we done everything but straight up fucking and you still get tongue tied when I come onto you." Rogue said laughing a little still


"Sorry I still get a little nervous sometimes when you come onto me. Plus you know we can't do anything anyway with everyone running around today. I promise I will make it up to you though as soon as I can." Matthew Said as they Walked out of the Danger room together

"I know you will Matt. Did Storm say anything about Logan and the others? " Rogue asked as they Walked into the locker room and Matthew started to change back into his street clothes.

"Yeah She said they just landed on the island about an hour ago but haven't found anything yet. Something about the entrance collapsed in the explosion. They will call back if they are able to clear it themselves." Matthew said as he put on his shoes

"What do you think they will find?" Rogue asked as the walkedout of the Locker room and headed for the elevator.

"Who knows....." Matthew said



"Dammit Chuck I already said no."

"Are you positive you don't sense anything?"

"Not a damn thing. No blood no rottening flesh nothing.They been down there so long I should be able to smell them from out here. SO either the whole damn complex is collapsed and nothing is getting out or..." Logan said as he moved more rocks from the entrance of Magneto's base

"Or they escaped." Hank said

"I wasn't going to say that Hank... I doubt they could have made it out in time. Besides they were all pretty damn close to the explosion so they could've been vaporized. Which would be why I can't smell a damn thing but the ocean...and Chuck's aftershave." Logan said with a growl

"Yes, well... What would you suggest Charles? It could take us hours to even remove this rubble from the entrance and there could still be more or the entire complex could have collapsed in the explosion. In my opinion I feel it would be best if we returned here with the proper equipment and perhaps some of the Students to help with the removal of the rubble." Hank said as he helped Logan remove more rocks

"I hate to admit it Chuck but Hank's right. We ain't gonna get shit done like this. We been moving these rocks for hours and we still haven't gotten anywhere. So either the whole stairway is collapsed which would take us days even weeks to clear going like this or the whole damn place has caved in. I think we should go back and get some of the team to come back with us . If we bring them along we should be able to get this cleared out in just a few hours instead of the weeks it could take doing it like this." Logan said dropping one of the rocks and dusting off his gloves on his sides

Xavier sighed and closed his eyes. After a few moments Logan heard a very low snort and Xavier spoke.

"As much as I hate to leave this place unattended at the moment I must agree. Very well. We will return tomorrow." Xavier said with a very faint scowl

"Why tomorrow?" Hank asked

"Because I gave my word that the children would have one night to do what they wished without having to worry about their duties as Members of The X-Men and that is tonight. They trust me and my word is my bond So I cannot break this promise .. as much as I want to It would cause havoc if I did." Xavier said in responce

"Lots of bitching and moaning if we ask them to tonight then right?" Logan asked taking out a cigar and lighting it

"Indeed." Xavier said with a sigh

" Ok then Chuck I'll go warm up the blackbird." Logan said walking towards the beach.

"Wait Logan. I think we should keep clearing this entrance for a few more hours. Just to be sure we are correct in assuming the stairway has collapsed. I would hate to have to bring the others here only to have our assumption prove to be inaccurate." Hank said walking after Logan

Logan stopped in his tracks and took a long drag off his Cigar before turning around.

"Chuck?" Logan said looking to Xavier

" I agree." Xavier said

"It's going to be a long fucking day." Logan said with a growl

"I would believe so my friend." Hank said with a smirk


" I just asked if you wanted to go with me you damn plowboy. I didn't ask for you to drop your Pants."

"Da I know Tabitha.... I am just..how do you say.....nervous. Da That is the word." Piotr said while sitting on the couch while Tabby sat next to him

Piotr had returned three days ago having come up empty handed on the lead to his family.

"Why? " Tabby asked with an evil smirk

" I have never been on a date with a lady before. When I was growing up I was to busy helping my family and our people keep their homes. I never had time for personal relationships."


"Trust me Big boy I am no lady and this isn't a date. I just want to get the hell out of this place before they run me into the ground with all this damn training. And since we are both signle I figured what the hell we should go out together and hang for a while. It's not Like I am going to fuck your brains out or anything I just want to get out for a while that's all





As Some may have Noticed Piotr is talking more like himself now. Thanks to Beason for helping me remember how the man spoke in the comics. I kinda wrote him real shitty beforehand so I am reworking him.
