Returning a Favor

Grey Frost
Chapter 3: Returning a Favor

************************************************************************

After her extensive mall trip, Emma Frost spent the rest of the week setting up her room and getting to know her new housemates. Others stopped by to help as she unpacked her clothes, made her bed, and set up her room in a manner distinctive of her persona. She ran up quite a debt on Xavier’s credit card, but she vowed to make it all back for him with interest using her business savvy.

While organizing her room, she got to know some of her new housemates. She quickly connected with Tabitha, Amara, and Jubilee. They offered real girl to girl interaction, something she hadn’t enjoyed for a long time. The boys were also pretty nice to her, but she still picked up some stray thoughts here and there. But she didn’t mind. Bobby and Kurt even cracked a few jokes that made her laugh, a feeling she really missed.

Jean was also adjusting to Emma’s presence, but after their mall run she found herself avoiding the older blonde. Ever since she asked about Scott, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy. But she swore to herself that she wouldn’t stand in the way. Scott was single. She was with Duncan. Emma was free to do as she wished, even if it did make Jean feel anxious.

As for the elders, Emma’s presence was also taking some time to adjust. Logan and Ororo both watched as she adapted to her new surroundings. She quickly grew interested in joining the X-men, saying after working for the Hellfire Club it would be good for her soul. But she was still new to the team and a decision like that was still in the making.

Down in the lower levels, Logan and Ororo watched Emma break in her new uniform. Apparently, she refused to put on an insipid New Mutant uniform, so she ended up adjusting her Hellfire outfit, fitting it with a silver X on the waist and a V-cut halter top that showed off her breasts. She also did a way with the cape, choosing instead to let the enemy get distracted by the sight of her perfect ass.

“Emma’s taking to the Danger Room quite nicely,” commented Ororo as she leaned over the console.

“Yeah…I guess,” said Logan skeptically, “Still can’t believe what she did to her uniform. She’ll distract the boys on the team as much as the enemy.”

As if on cue, Ray was caught looking at Emma’s butt when a paintball hit him right in the gut, earning a round of laughs from the others. Logan just shook his head in exasperation. This was sure to present a whole new range of challenges.

“She certainly is a spirited woman,” grinned Ororo.

“That’s one way of puttin’ it,” muttered Logan, “Girl ain’t big on modesty, that’s for sure.”

“The same goes for her confidence,” added Ororo, “I think she’ll make a good addition to the regulars.”

“Not until she get some serious training,” said Logan sternly, “Girl might be able to handle horny men, but she’s gotta learn to defend herself. I say a little hand-to-hand with a touch of stealth trainin’ and she’ll have a chance.”

“I take it you’ve already started her down that path,” said Ororo, turning around and sitting upon the console.

“It’d be a lot easier if she took it seriously,” said Logan, “Frosty’s confident, but she might be a little too confident.”

“She’ll learn,” said Ororo confidently, “She’s a strong young woman.”

“Maybe, but that ain’t what bothers me,” muttered Logan.

“What do you mean?” asked Ororo curiously.

Looking back down at the scene below, she watched Emma finish the course with the New Mutants. Afterwards, Scott came down to congratulate her and she quickly swooned to his side. Logan may not have known much about youthful crushes, but he knew the signs of attraction. And if Emma kept this up it was only a matter of time before Scott took notice.

“Let’s just say we’re lucky Cyke’s so dense,” he said, not taking his eyes off of Emma as she smiled adoringly at Scott, “She may have the skills, but it’s the ‘chemistry’ she has with the team that could be trouble.”

************************************************************************

After the session, Emma sat down to some desert with Kitty, Kurt, and Rogue. Over the course of the week, she had come to enjoy their company. And if she was going to join the regulars as Professor Xavier said she would, she wanted to get to know her future teammates. Emma’s performance in the Danger Room was the main topic of discussion. Even though she was new, she clearly had great skill. And it wouldn’t take long for those skills to find their way onto the team.

“So you, like, finished the senior program in under five minutes?” said Kitty as she bit into a cookie, “That’s amazing!”

“Ja, it took me four tries to get through zhat level zhe first time,” said Kurt, who was hanging upside down from the ceiling.

“Wasn’t too hard,” shrugged Emma, casually biting into another cookie, “I’ve faced worst at Hellfire.”

“Ah’m sure,” said Rogue, “What was so bad about that place anyways?”

Emma diverted her gaze and quickly hid her distaste of that horrid place.

“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you,” she said distantly.

“We live in a house of mutants,” laughed Kurt, “Impossibilities are a part of life.”

“Point taken, Kurt, but I’d rather not get into details,” she said seriously, “There are some things that just aren’t…pleasant.”

“Say no more,” said Rogue, knowing that tone all too well, “Trust meh, Ah understand.”

“Yeah, me too,” said Kurt with a look of compassion, “Everybody’s entitled to their secrets. You don’t have to tell us until you’re ready.”

Emma couldn’t help but smile. It was nice knowing she was in a place where people actually understood her pain. Such a feeling was nothing like the hostile world of her home-life or the Hellfire Club where nobody gave a damn about anybody. It had been a long time since she had real friends. And if she was going to build a new life for herself, she would need them now more than ever.

“Thanks guys,” she said with a warm smile, “Honestly, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the stuff you’ve done for me.”

“Hey, no biggie,” said Kitty, grabbing another cookie, “It’s what we X-men do.”

“And we’re damn good at it!” said Kurt confidently.

“Easy Kurt,” laughed Rogue, “Ah think the sugah may be goin’ to yer head.”

Emma laughed again. She wasn’t used so such a light-hearted environment, but she was already enjoying it.

“So what’s on your agenda for the rest of the night, Emma?” asked Kitty.

“Oh…not much,” said Emma with a mischievous smile, “I’ll probably kick back in my new room, put on some music, and relax.”

“Wish ve had zhat luxury,” sighed Kurt, “Ve’ve got school tomorrow.”

“Ah the benefits of a private education,” said Emma in an overly dramatic tone, “Sometimes it pays to have a rich family.”

“Guess that leaves you with lots of free time,” muttered Rogue, “What exactly is the Professor gonna have ya do while we’re all off bustin’ our butts for grades?”

“Plenty actually,” replied Emma, “Seeing as how I have a knack for finance, my new job here is to manage the Professor’s portfolio. So every time we trash the Danger Room, we’ll have plenty of money to make the necessary repairs.”

“Vow…you’re going to handle the Professor’s money?” said Kurt, surprised that a girl like her would have know a lot about business.

“Yep!” said Emma proudly, “It’s the least I can do after he took me in. And if I’m going to be an X-man, I might as well pull my weight.”

“Well if that Danger Room session was any indication, you’re well on your way girlfriend!” said Kitty with encouragement.

“I hope your right,” said Emma, “Besides, I’d much rather be on a team with Scott Summers.”

There was a distinct hint of allure in her tone, earning a slight snicker from Kurt and Kitty. Emma made no secret of her attraction to Scott, but he remained oblivious as always. Rogue knew this all too well, given the crush she had on him when she first joined. But there was just no getting around that emotional barrier he put up. However, that didn’t seem to dissuade Emma in the slightest.

“Ah wouldn’t go there, Emma,” warned Rogue.

“Why do you say that?” asked the young blonde, “You really expect me not to be interested in a man who saved my life?”

“No, but Scott ain’t exactly yer typical boy toy.”

“Even better,” shrugged Emma, “I’ve known enough typical men.”

“It ain’t that easy,” Rogue went on, “Scott’s a nice guy, don’t get meh wrong. He’s just a little…dense.”

“That’s one way of saying it,” laughed Kitty, “Another way is to say he’s downright stiff. I wouldn’t try digging too deep.”

“Ah wouldn’t try diggin’ at all,” said Rogue in a more serious tone.

“Oh ye of little faith,” scoffed Emma as she got up from the kitchen table, picking up one more cookie, “After everything Scott has done for me, do you really expect me to just let it go? I owe him. And damn it! I’m interested.”

“Zhat’s all vell and good, Emma, but you might vant to give it time,” warned Kurt.

“Trust me…I know what I’m doing,” said Emma confidently.

Emma left the kitchen and retreated to the foyer while Kurt, Kitty, and Rogue all exchanged worried glances. They didn’t know much about this girl, but it was clear she was driven. And with her sights on Scott Summers, there was no telling how far she would go. Scott may have been dense, but Emma’s attraction to him may complicate things.

“Oh boy, Scott is definitely in for a shock,” chuckled Kitty.

“Ja…” sighed Kurt, “Some guys have all zhe luck.”

************************************************************************

In her room, Emma waited until the clock passed ten. Gradually, the institute residents turned in for the night. Some stayed up and watched TV while others finished up homework. But for Emma, the night had far more promise. Standing in front of her mirror, she went over every possible detail. Nothing could be left to chance. Tonight she would repay Scott Summers for saving her life. And she was going to make it count.

She carefully applied her lipstick and her best perfume. She then did a few poses for the mirror. Her attire was deceptively casual. She wore a simple pair of white sweatpants and a tight fitting white tank top. On her voluptuous body, it still looked alluringly sexy. But her clothes wouldn’t matter in the long run if everything went according to plan.

‘You are so ready, girl! Now go get him.’

Everything was in place. Emma smiled to herself as she did one last check for her appearance. She was never shy about her body. She knew she was hot. All that cosmetic surgery added up and it showed from her face to her breasts. Men drooled over her constantly and she used that to her full advantage as a stripper. Hopefully, Scott Summers would appreciate her attention to detail.

Flipping off the lights to her room, Emma walked down the halls of the dormitory. It was fairly quiet with most of her housemates either asleep or doing homework. She could sense that Scott was still awake. The door to his room was slightly ajar and she could make out faint lights from inside. It was perfect. This was it. With a confident smile, Emma prepared to make her move.

“Scott? Are you still up?” she said, opening his door and slipping into his room.

“Emma?” said Scott, who was hunched over his desk with a textbook, “Yeah, I’m still up. Is everything alright?”

Emma flashed a sexy grin, closing the door behind her and locking it. Scott didn’t seem to notice, but that was just fine with her. It would make what she had planned much easier.

“Everything’s fine,” she told him, “I just wanted to talk to you about something. You got a minute?”

“Yeah sure,” said Scott, closing up his books, “I think I’ve had enough homework for one night. So what’s on your mind?”

Scott got up from his desk and made his way over towards his bed, but before he could get very far Emma did something that froze Scott in his place.

“Uh…Emma?” said Scott, confused by the look on her face.

Her smile never waning, she gracefully approached him, swaying her voluptuous hips with each step and drawing him into a soft embrace. He quickly tensed upon feeling her body against his, but Emma only used that to her advantage.

“Mmm…you’re so warm,” she said in a soft tone.

Looking into this woman’s eyes, he saw a look of deep lust. Scott stumbled back as Emma pressed her body up against his. Her large breasts were rubbing against his chest and her hips were grinding against pelvis. It was enough to divert the flow of blood in his body.

“Emma what are you…” began Scott, but she silenced him with a finger to his lip.

“Shh…I need to tell you this,” she said softly, “You saved my life, Scott Summers. You were there for me in my darkest hour. And I want to return the favor.”

What happened next stopped time for Scott Summers. Emma Frost, a beautiful woman who could have had any man in the world, captured his lips in a soft, sensuous kiss. The taste was intoxicating. Scott couldn’t help but be drawn into the feeling. He still didn’t know where to put his hands until Emma gently guided them onto her butt. Immediately, Scott’s heart-rate jumped and every muscle in his body tensed.

Emma could sense the shock he was projecting. It was just the reaction she was hoping for. Letting him know this was not a dream, she reached up under his shirt and gently groped his manly flesh. His muscles were so firm and toned. It sent a surge of arousal through her body. The areas between her thighs grew wet while her skin burned under his touch. Everything was going exactly as planned.

“Tonight, I am all yours,” she said as the kiss parted, “I am going to make you feel the greatest pleasure you’ve ever felt. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy it.”

“Emma…” gasped Scott in a daze.

Before he could respond, Emma pushed him onto the foot of his bed. Flashing him a sexy smile, Emma grabbed the sides of her tank top and slowly slid it over her head. Scott’s eyes widened as he got a full view of the beautiful blonde’s large breasts. They were so big and voluptuous, perfected by the surgery she had done at Hellfire. Scott tried to say something, but no words came out. Emma smiled at the reaction she got and took it a step further. She sensually wiggled her hips and slid out of her sweatpants. Now she was only wearing a sexy white thong that perfectly augmented her ass. It was made of silk and slightly transparent in some areas, giving Scott a view that would have floored a man of weaker means.

Now standing over him in just a thong, Emma sauntered over and wrapped her arms around his neck and slipped her legs around his waist so she was sitting on his lap. She felt a large bulge through his pants, signaling he liked what he saw.

“Is my body pleasing to you, darling?” grinned Emma, letting her breasts press against his chest.

“I…I…” he stammered.

“Oh…you’re so cute when you’re speechless,” said the hot blonde, gently caressing his manly face, “I’m going to make sure you die a happy man, Scott.”

“Emma…”

“You can fuck me all night long,” she went on, “My body is your playground. Just tell me whatever you want and I’ll do it.”

It was an offer any man would have killed to have. This beautiful woman was giving him full permission to have sex with her. Scott’s penis throbbed in his pants as it pressed up between Emma’s legs. She was already wet, ready for anything he wanted to do. But even with this offer of complete ecstasy, Scott Summers said the last thing Emma expected.

“I…I want you to leave.”

A look of shock fell over the half naked Emma.

“What?” she said with a look of disbelief.

“Leave, Emma,” said Scott in a deep, yet serious tone, “Please…just leave.”

Emma Frost was in shock. She vowed to do anything for him and he wanted her to leave. She was half naked, wearing only a thong, her legs and arms wrapped around his body, and he was saying no. For a moment she gazed into his enigmatic face, but there was no room for argument. He meant what he said. And without another word, Emma got off the bed and picked up her clothes.

“Fine…” she said in a low tone.

Her expression sank as she slipped her pants and shirt back on and left Scott’s room with tears in her eyes. She didn’t look back, not wanting him to see her weakness. It was unbelievable. A man turned down free sex with her, yet he turned it down. And for Emma Frost, it left her dazed and confused.

After she was gone, Scott Summers was reeling. He struggled to catch his breath as she gripped the edge of his bed. He still had a throbbing erection protruding from his pants. He couldn’t believe what he just did. A beautiful woman threw herself at him and he turned her down. Few men could boast such a feat, yet it sure didn’t feel like anything to gloat about.

“Oh man…” groaned Scott, “What the hell just happened?”

************************************************************************

Emma Frost didn’t get a wink of sleep that night. Upon returning to her room, she fell back on her bed and stared at the ceiling, going over every detail of what had happened. It was unbelievable. Scott turned her down. She offered to repay him for saving her life and he turned her down.

Emma spent the rest of the night trying to make sense of it. When morning came, she didn’t bother getting out of bed to eat breakfast with the others. She just paced about in her room, going over the event countless times until she couldn’t take it anymore. Once everybody left for school, Emma tried to distract herself. She went down to the gym and started working out, but that didn’t help. She tried watching TV, but that didn’t work either. She tried going for a long walk, but it was still bothering her.

Eventually, Emma sequestered herself in the backyard, sitting atop the balcony looking over the pool. She just couldn’t get around it. How could a man reject her? How could anybody turn down the chance to have sex with her? She could sense how much Scott wanted her, but he still turned her down.

‘I can’t believe it! I just can’t believe it! No man has ever rejected me! Ever!’

Burying her face in her arms, Emma let out a round of hard sobs. She had never felt so rotten before in her life. She had given herself to so many men in the past and none ever showed the backbone Scott Summers did. She was so angry at herself. She finally met a man who was different from the rest of the slime she had known and she completely messed everything up.

‘He must think I’m a total slut. I might as well have strangled his mother. Just when everything seems to be looking up, I had to go and ruin any chance at getting closer to the only one person who actually gave a damn about my miserable life. You’ve really messed up this time, girl. Nice fucking job.’

Sinking further into her disheartened state, Emma let out a grunt of frustration and she rested her head on her arms. She was so caught up in her misery that she didn’t sense a presence approach her.

“So this is where you’ve been holding up,” said Jean, drawing Emma’s attention, “Ororo says you haven’t said a word all day.”

Emma found herself looking away. It was bad enough she couldn’t face Scott, but it was even harder she couldn’t face his best friend. She, along with everybody else in the mansion, told her to be careful with Scott, but she didn’t listen.

“I take it Scott told you about last night,” muttered Emma.

“Yep, everything from the kiss to you showing off that new thong you bought from the mall,” said Jean, a touch of disgust and anger in her tone.

“Well if you’re trying to make me feel worse about it, don’t bother,” said Emma bitterly, “I’ve already hit rock bottom.”

“What do you expect me to do, Emma?!” exclaimed Jean, “You tried to fuck my best friend!”

“Oh you say that like I tried to torture him!” spat Emma.

“Well you sure didn’t ‘repay’ him if that’s what you were trying to do!”

Emma scowled at Jean’s harsh words, but she didn’t shoot back. Jean was right. She tried to repay Scott for his deeds and it backfired. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked away, not letting Jean see her expression.

Sensing her hurt, Jean shook her head and sighed. She walked up to the ledge where Emma was sitting and casually leaned back, trying hard not to let her emotions get the better of her. It really perturbed her that she tried to have sex with Scott, but she didn’t want to make things any worse.

“How bad is it?” asked Emma, concealing her sob, “Does he hate me?”

Jean took a deep breath and calmed down.

“He doesn’t hate you,” she assured, “Believe me, that’s not Scott’s style. He just…he was in shock. It’s not every day someone waltzes into your room and gives you permission to have sex with them.”

“What about the others?” asked Emma nervously, “What do they think?”

“They don’t know. He only told me,” said Jean with a relieved tone, “Lord knows the kind of scrutiny Scott would face if they found out he passed up sex with you.”

“I can only imagine…” muttered Emma.

An awkward silence fell over the two women. Jean had never found herself in a position this uncomfortable before. This girl tried to fuck Scott, her best friend and the boy she had strong feelings for. She was still struggling to make sense of them, but this little event definitely complicated things.

“I would have done it, you know?” mused Emma, her gaze still fixated over the pool.

“Done what?” asked Jean, turning back towards the young blonde.

“Everything…” she said, “Hell, I would have had his baby on the spot.”

Jean cast the Emma a strange look, but she seemed dead serious.

“It’s just that…” said Emma, struggling with her words, “For so long, the only reason me did anything for me was because they wanted something in return. More often than not it was sex and I was trained to satisfy their every desire.”

“So you thought that’s how you’d repay Scott?” surmised Jean with an uneasy tone.

“I know…I know,” sighed Emma, “Old habits die hard I guess. But the man saved my life! He treated me in a way no one else has! I honestly don’t know how to handle that.”

Jean cast the older blonde a confused look. Clearly, Emma had some issues. Whatever happened before they rescued her must have been severe. What Scott did for her really meant a lot in her mind. And Jean could relate. She felt the same thing after he saved her after her power surge. But it was different for Emma. All Jean could do was tell her what she knew.

“Look Emma…” she said seriously, “I don’t know much about you, but I know you didn’t mean to hurt anybody. And if you want to make this better, I don’t think you can avoid confronting Scott.”

“Yeah, that’ll be a pleasant conversation,” said the blonde in a low, sarcastic tone.

“I’m not saying it will be,” said Jean with lingering scorn, “But don’t you at least owe him some closure?”

Emma thought about that for a moment. Jean was right. It was her fault they were in this mess. Running away from it would make her no better than the monsters she ran away from.

“I don’t know,” sighed Emma in a defeated tone, “Scott’s not like other men. I mean honestly, how many guys would have turned down free sex from a beautiful woman?”

“I’d have to say you’re being pretty pessimistic about men,” commented Jean, “But answer me this, Emma…what do you want from Scott?”

“What do you mean, what do I want?” she scoffed.

“I mean what I said,” said Jean, folding her arms skeptically, “What more do you want from this man?”

Emma scolded the redhead for such a question, but it got her thinking. What was she really after in pursuing Scott? Was it really as easy as rewarding him for helping her? It would have been much less complicated if it were that simple. But last night proved that this was not the case.

She thought back to the time Scott stayed with her that first night at the mansion. It was the beginning of this mess she now found herself in, but she still remembered how warm and safe she felt when he was with her. She had her first peaceful sleep in a long time because of him. And then it dawned on her.

“Jean…were you ever sick as a child?” asked Emma.

Jean looked her blankly.

“Huh?” she said with a raised eyebrow.

“I’m guessing you were at one point,” she went on, “And when you were sick, was someone there to hold you and comfort you?”

Her tone was distant, yet serious. Not knowing where this was going, Jean simply answered.

“Well…yeah,” she said, “My parents.”

Emma laughed bitterly and looked away so Jean wouldn’t see the distraught look in her eyes.

“Must have been nice,” she said, “Well you know that feeling you get when they’re sitting by your bedside, holding your hand, and telling you everything’s going to be alright? I never had that growing up. I never felt that sort of comfort. But that night Scott stayed with me in the infirmary…it felt like someone actually cared about whether or not I lived or died.”

Jean was silenced. Scott really had an impact on her. It definitely went beyond simple attraction. And it was clearly very important to Emma.

“I know I messed up,” she went on, “A guy was nice to me and I didn’t stop and think. But it doesn’t change how he makes me feel. It doesn’t change how…”

Suddenly it dawned on her. She knew what she had to do. It wouldn’t be pleasant, but Jean was right. She had to fix this. She wasn’t going to let this mess stand.

“Damn…” she said, smiling and shaking her head, “You know what? You’re right, Jean. I have to fix this! Thanks girlfriend! I owe you one!”

With renewed energy, she got off the balcony and ran back inside. Jean continued to stand there with a confused look on her face, but Emma was long gone before she could make any more comments. She didn’t know what she had said, but there was no taking it back now. Emma said she was going to fix this and nothing was going to stop her. So why did Jean still feel so uneasy about it?

‘Wow…did I just make things better or a whole lot worse?’

************************************************************************

Scott Summers had endured a hell of a day. After last night, he could barely focus. Emma Frost had waltzed into his room, pushed him on his bed, stripped naked, and said she was going to have sex with him. Yet he told her to leave. He turned down sex from a beautiful woman. Memories of how good she looked wearing nothing but a thong dominated his mind all day. Her big, beautiful breasts were so alluring. The look in her eyes was so enchanting. Yet as much as his libido wanted it, he couldn’t go through with it. But that didn’t stop it from bothering him.

Grabbing a bottle of water from the kitchen, he couldn’t even drink his problems away. He had been dazed all day, something that certainly didn’t go unnoticed by his friends. But he didn’t dare tell them what happened.

“Scott? Hey Scott! Are you sure you’re not sick or something?” said Rogue with an irritated look.

“Huh? What?” said Scott, startled by her tone, “Oh yeah…I’m fine.”

Rolling her eyes, Rogue threw her hands up in the air and groaned.

“Fine…be like that. Ya’ve only said the same four words all day so who am I to argue?”

Leaving Scott in a state of further distress, Rogue retreated to the living room. This was getting out of hand. He couldn’t let a single incident drive him crazy forever. He had to lay this to rest. But he wasn’t ready to face Emma just yet. He at least had to get to a point where he wouldn’t picture her naked every time he saw her.

‘As if I don’t have enough shit to deal with. Damn, why did Emma have to go and do this?’

With an angry grunt, Scott tossed his bottle in the recycle bin and went up to his room. He passed Evan, Bobby, and Jubilee along the way, but remained silent. Everybody was still so curious about why he was acting so strange, but his lips were sealed.

“Scott? Hey Scott!” said Evan, watching as he blew right past him.

“Dude, what’s with him?” wondered Jubilee.

“Who knows? Maybe he got a B- or something,” shrugged Bobby, “Come on, let’s go raid the fridge.”

Scott couldn’t stand anymore of this scrutiny. He needed some peace and quiet. Rubbing his sore temples, he entered his room with every intention of distracting himself with homework or the internet. But upon closing his door and turning around, he was met with an unexpected presence.

“Hey there…” said Emma with a curt smile, “Thought you’d show up here sooner or later.”

Scott immediately tensed. There she was, the woman who offered him sex last night sitting casually on his bed, leaning back on her arms as if all was well. Images of her naked body from last night danced across his mind, but he managed to set them aside for now.

“Emma…what do you want?” he said, unable to hide a touch of hostility in his tone.

Emma’s expression sank. This wasn’t going to be easy, but it had to be done.

“I’m not going to strip naked and throw myself at you again if that’s what you think,” she said with a sigh, “Although if you wanted to…”

“Don’t start,” said Scott, folding his arms with a serious look, “Just tell me why you’re here, okay?”

“Sorry, just trying to lighten the mood a bit,” she muttered.

Scott let out a frustrated sigh. This was the perfect time to confront this and he was letting his attitude get in the way. Setting aside the fact this girl tried to fuck him last night, he put on a serious look.

“Fair enough,” said Scott in a calmer, “Look, I’m sorry about last night. I…”

“No Scott,” said Emma, cutting him off, “I’m the one who should be sorry. You did nothing wrong. It’s me who has to do the graveling here.”

Taking a deep breath, Emma Frost got up off the bed and approached the man she had put in such an awkward position. This was not going to be pleasant, but she owed this man who had done so much for her.

“Last night…was a mistake,” she said, hugging her shoulders with remorse, “Where I come from whenever a man does something for me, I’m obligated to repay him. And for a guy who saved my life and stayed by my side in my darkest hour…well, you can kind of see where I’m going with this.”

Scott couldn’t fight off his blush, but maintained a serious poise. Emma was really trying and regardless of how awkward the situation may have been, she deserved a chance.

“No man has ever turned me down,” she went on, “Usually when I put myself out there like that they just throw their conscious out the door. But you didn’t do that. You rejected me.”

Her tone grew more disheartened, prompting Scott to step in.

“It’s not that I didn’t want you, Emma,” said Scott, placing a hand on her shoulder, “Believe me, I was tempted more than you could imagine.”

“So then why did you do it?” she asked, looking at him with yearning eyes.

Scott rubbed the back of his neck in an awkward gesture. The memories of last night still hung strong, but he at least owed this woman an explanation.

“Because…it was wrong,” he said simply.

“How can it be wrong?” said Emma, shaking her head in disbelief, “You wanted me and I wanted you too. So why?”

“Because it wasn’t for the right reasons,” said Scott strongly, “Emma, if I’m going to be…close to someone, I don’t want it to be because they feel obligated.”

“But you saved my life!” she exclaimed.

“That doesn’t mean you should throw yourself to me as if you were some piece of meat!” shot Scott, “I…I don’t want it to happen like that. I don’t want you to want me just because I helped you. I just…”

Scott’s words trailed off as he ran out of ways to describe it. It took a moment for those words to sink in, but they had a powerful impact. Emma had never come across a man like this. He actually had a heart that went beyond his selfish ego. In a ways it was sweet. She actually found herself smiling. And with a kind gesture, she moved in closer.

“You’re a really nice guy, you know that?” she said in a kind tone.

“Um…thanks,” said Scott with a slight blush.

“I mean it,” she said, her smile never waning, “Men like you are a real commodity.”

“I’m honored,” he said with a half grin.

“And I’m foolish,” said Emma, her expression going more serious, “I should have known better.”

The tense mood finally began to lift. Scott wasn’t feeling as frustrated anymore and Emma wasn’t feeling nearly as uncomfortable. But there were still some loose ends that needed to be resolved and Emma wouldn’t leave his room until it was done.

“Look…I want to make it up to you, Scott,” she said seriously, “And I don’t mean in ‘that’ sort of way. So how about this…why don’t we go out on a date. Just you and me…my treat.”

“A date?” said Scott, his eyes widening behind his glasses

“Yes…a real date,” said Emma with a warm smile, “I won’t lie to you, Scott, I’m attracted to you. Not just because you saved my life, but because you’re unlike any guy I’ve ever met before. And I’d like to explore this…if for any reason just to see if it means anything. If afterwards one date is enough we’ll call it even.”

It was quite an offer. It wasn’t as extreme as offering him unrestricted sex, but it was enough to make Scott ponder. It shouldn’t have required much thought, accepting a date from a beautiful woman. But as he looked into those beautiful eyes of hers, he remembered Jean. She was still the girl he longed for, but her heart belonged to someone else. Even though he didn’t like it that Duncan was that someone, he just had to accept that there was no changing.

‘Ah hell, Summers, why not? Stop moping about a girl you can’t have and move on! And besides, Emma is an interesting woman. Why not take a chance for once in your life?’

“So how about it?” she said, still smiling, “Want to give it a try?”

“Okay Emma,” he said, casting her a warm smile, “Let’s do it. Let’s go out on a date.”

“Wonderful darling!” she said with renewed enthusiasm, “Friday night at seven?”

“Sure thing,” said Scott.

As if to seal the deal, Emma leaned in and gave Scott a soft kiss on the cheek.

“Mmm…I can’t wait,” she said in a sultry tone.

Emma flashed one last sexy glance before making her leave. Once she was gone, Scott sat back on his bed and shook his head in amazement. First she tried to have sex with him, now they were going out on a date. She made it clear she was attracted to him and he couldn’t hide that he was attracted to her. It was a lot to take in for Scott Summers, but there was no turning back now.

But with the decision final, he couldn’t help but feel anxious. A date was serious. He was still reeling from Jean going out with Duncan, but the more he thought about it the more he felt he needed to move on. Besides, dating Emma Frost might be just what he needed. If anything, it should be interesting to see where a girl like this would lead him.
