Chapter Three

WARNINGS: This story contains M/M relationships, if you don't like that then you should leave.
I don't own the x-men nor the anita blake characters (sniffle). Silvie and Osha are the only characters that are mine. I know that Gregory and Stephan don't have a mother in the books, but in this story they're young and have a mother (I forget how old they are in the books).

The harness for my wings was visible through the tears of my suit, though the straps were thankfully intact. Logan went to go look for a phone to call Scott, while I walked to an isolated corner away from the vampires to try and cover up better.

I noticed them stealing glances at me every now and then, but I figured it was more because of my blue skin then anything else. I was able to cover up most of the harness so that you couldn’t see it unless you really stared. The large lump on my back was now visible as well, making me wonder what the hell I was going to do to get out of this mess.

I did not want to stay locked up in a cheap hotel room for the rest of the time here.

And, not that I was trying to impress anyone here, but I still hated the fact that I looked like a shredded blueberry hunchback.

Not my best look while being surrounded by guys that looked like poster boys for GQ, I grimaced to myself. Even that werecat was good looking, in that chain-me-to-the-wall-and-punish-me type of way.

Logan made his way towards me, keeping a fair distance away from the small group of vampires and were creatures. His clothing was in worse shape then mine, his flannel shirt nearly non-existent and blood stained.

But then again, I thought to myself sourly, the difference between a ruined flannel shirt and a ruined several thousand dollar suit is so vast that it doesn’t even deserve a comparison.

“Well?” I asked him impatiently when he stood silently in front of me.

Logan shook his head, “There was no answer. I’m guessing Scott is still out following Silvie.”

“Great, so now what?” I said angrily.

“Well, first off, you need to calm down,” Logan glared at me. “I‘m sure you‘ve been in this type of situation before and gotten out of it just fine.”

“Yeah, sure, you mean the situation in which I’ve lost several million dollars, ruined a ten thousand dollar suit, and been surrounded by the preternatural while looking like a smurf with a bump on my back? You mean that type of situation!?”

“I meant,” Logan growled back at me, arms tense at his sides, “I’m sure you’ve been in a situation where you’re cover was blown, and you had to get back to the mansion without anyone seeing you before. Calm down, angel, you’re starting to sound like a spoiled brat.”

“I am a spoiled brat,” I huffed, but got my nerves under control. “Yeah, I’ve had to do that before. I’d just fly.”

“That’s easy enough, then. We’ll meet back at the hotel--”

“Excuse me,” a voice interrupted us. Turning, slightly startled, I noticed that we had been nearly surrounded, without either one of us realizing it. “We can’t have you two leaving right now,” said Jean-Claude, “it would be to your benefit if you two stay here at least until the next full moon.”

“Why the hell is that?” Logan growled, glaring at the dark haired vampire, “Are you going to try stopping us?”

“If we need to use force, we will. I will not allow you two to run loose on the streets until I know for certain that neither of you have contracted lycanthrope.”

“Excuse me?” I had a sudden sinking feeling in my stomach when I realized what he was talking about.

“The both of you were clawed rather extensively. The chances of you two having contracted the disease are rather high. You two will be staying under my protection in the Circus of the Damned; until we are sure it’s safe for the two of you.”

“Circus of the Damned?” I repeated under my breath, not liking the sound of it.

I know this chapter is short, hopefully I'll be able to make a longer one next time!
