Part Nineteen
I know...what TWO chapters at once?!
Well, that is because this is the last one. I want to thank all of those that have left wonderful reviews for this story and I truly am glad that so many have enjoyed reading as much as I did writing it. I want to thank my beta Mertz for putting up with the monster length chapters to edit.
Again, thank you and I'll see you again...
Part Nineteen
The moon is shining brightly in the blackened skies when Logan awakens…the light shimmers on the lagoon in front of him. His hand absently rubs her side, trying to wake her up. From the position of the moon, he figures that it’s close to ten, and they haven’t even thought about eating anything…
'Okay, nothing that was of the four major food groups anyway…'
Smirking, he whispers in her ear, “We gotta get back…it’s real late.”
“Hmmm?” Ororo mumbles as her eyes slowly open. As she tries to focus, she can see that it’s nighttime and it’s really dark. “How long have we been here?”
“A few hours…we should get back and maybe grab somethin’ ta’ eat?” Logan suggests, still not in any hurry to move. She sits up, hugging her knees to her chest, “I think so…but I don’t want to walk back…”
He sits up as well, “Whaddya mean?”
Ororo stands, “I’ll meet you back at the house…I need to feel the wind carry me…” she says as a gust of wind surrounds her and she floats up into the air. Smiling, she does a few flips in the air as he stares at her. She comes in closer to say, “Logan, I feel so free now…I want the wind to understand my joy and join me in it.” A mischievous smile covers her face as she looks in the direction of the house.
“Oh, no you don’t…what’re ya’ thinkin’ now?” Logan asks; a goofy grin on his lips. She laughs, “Let’s leave this stuff here…I’m sure we’ll be back down here for it. Race me…”
He looks at her incredulously, “Race? Ain’t that a little unfair?”
The weather goddess snorts, “Oh, I’ll give you a head start…”
Logan frowns, “Don’t need it, woman…let’s go!”
Forgetting the so-called head start, she speeds off as Logan gains his bearings and follows, jumping and racing through the trees to beat her back to the house…the leaves and wind whisking by him as he is beginning to enjoy this romp. Logan peers up and sees her streaking above him, like an avenging angel. As he runs, he starts to worry that she may lose her way, so he speeds up…finally bursting into the clearing beside the house. He looks above trying to see her, but there is nothing but clear sky…so he walks over to the cliff, hoping to see her floating there, but all he sees is the valley underneath them. Logan starts to get a little uneasy until a gust of wind blows behind him. He turns and in the doorway of the house, stands Ororo…still nude and smiling at him.
“Looking for me?”
He smirks as he comes over to her, “Not bad…let’s see how ya’ do when I’m in an open field next time.” The beautiful wind-rider wraps her arms around his neck, “I’ve flown enough for the day…let’s get some food.” Logan picks her up and carries her back into the house. He takes her into the living room, past the kitchen, and straight up the stairs to his bedroom.
Ororo grins at the change of venue, “I thought we were going to get something to
eat…”
“We are…or at least I am…” he says as he lowers her to the bed. The crook of his brow and the sly smile on his lips tells her that food is not on the menu…not yet.
Her body melts as she watches that muscular form slink across the bed towards her, settling between her legs. His eyes ignite as he opens her legs so his hungry gaze can take in his meal. Smiling seductively, he whispers, “I promise I’ll get ya’ a snack…later…”
Later winds up being at 3 AM…and they both sit in the bed, munching on some fruit and other snacks he scrounged around for, in between their lovemaking sessions.
The moon is shining in on them…Ororo sitting in between his legs, her back propped up against his raised leg. It’s a wonder to her how she is able to keep up…his healing factor allowing him to be at the ready at any given moment. She moves her legs a little, feeling the slight soreness…not minding it at all. Through all of this, she has discovered a part of her that she had been afraid to embrace…thought it wasn’t proper to be so unrefined when she was considered a goddess. But, being with Logan, she doesn’t have those airs…doesn’t feel as if she is betraying her image, she is finally being who she is meant to be; be it wild or regal. Ororo rests her head against his chest as she eats a piece of cheese…this man has taught me to live.
Feeling her nestle against him, Logan smiles…she has really come a long way from the shy, disparate woman he came back to those many months ago. His hand absently runs down her back and over her hip, never felt anything this good! he muses as he realizes he isn’t just thinking about her body or how it feels to be buried inside it…he has never felt this at peace with himself and the world around him in like…forever! He places a kiss to her forehead that brings her gaze to his...I can get lost in those eyes…he thinks as their eyes lock, their souls blending once again. She leans up to kiss him before settling back in to her comfortable position again.
“We really needed this…this was a wonderful idea Logan…” she says as she chews on some grapes. He wipes some hair off of her face as he says, “A lot of stuff has happened…we both needed time ta’ take it all in.”
She sighs as she rests her head on his shoulder, “This isn’t over yet…is it?”
Logan is silent for a minute, “No, darlin’…it’s not.”
The truth in his words sobers their mood for a few moments, but Logan doesn’t allow it to stay that way for long. He tilts her face up to his, placing a gentle kiss on her. “I won’t let nothin’ happen ta’ ya’…I swear.”
“I know, Logan…we’ll always be there for each other. It’s our destiny…”
He smirks again, “Speaking of destiny…ya’ know that being my mate means yer destined to make love ta’ me for days on end?” he tells her as he lays her back down. Logan places a kiss on her nipple as he continues, “Be at my beck and call...and let me do what I want ta’ ya’, whenever I want ta’, at anytime?” The plate with their repast on it is quickly removed from the bed and placed on the nightstand…his hands coming back to caress her quivering flesh.
Ororo smirks, “Just as long as you remember, mpenzi…it goes both ways…” and she quickly changes their positions so that she is on top, grinding against him in slow torturous movements. His back arches at the torment as she tells him, “As long as you are my mate, you will be at my beck and call, allow me to do whatever it is I want, whenever I want, and at any time…but there is one more thing…”
“Anythin’, ya’ damn temptress...anythin’!” he cries out as she moves herself up and down on his steeled shaft without letting him enter. Ororo leans back down, positioning herself to give him entrance. As she lets him slide in, she whispers, “You have to love me forever…never let me go.” Pleasure beyond any other he has experienced in these past two days sweeps through him as he
whispers, “Never, koibito, never. Not even in death, darlin’…”
She gasps at the fierce thrust he drives inside her, “Not even in death…” she repeats as she continues to ride him into delirium. Ororo sees his eyes roll back and she smiles...
“Definitely one of the perks of the job…” she replies huskily as he arches his back…their slow measured movements causing a combined orgasm that sweeps over them in a tidal wave…leaving them battered yet complete once the final ripples roll away.
The weekend goes by at a seemingly slow pace…between sparsely eating; taking hikes, and making love, they made the most of their impromptu vacation…even making it back down to the lagoon, and not just to retrieve their clothes…
But, soon they have to go back…like Logan said.
As they clean up the house and remove all trash on the last day…Ororo looks over the landscape again. There is something about these majestic mountains and lush valleys that makes her feel at home…feel closer to nature and the man that has taken the time to show her another aspect of his mysterious life. As she gazes out over the beautiful landscape, Logan comes up behind her…hugging her around her waist.
“We can always come back, darlin’…” he murmurs.
“I know…back to our secret place?”
“Yeah, ours…” he replies as he kisses her neck. Logan straightens up, walking over to the bike, “Let’s go.”
Sighing, Ororo walks over to climb on behind him…waiting for him to start the engine, but he stops…freezing his motions again as if he was waiting for someone, or he senses someone…
“Logan, what’s wrong?” she asks, suddenly unnerved.
He peers out over the road into the forest beyond it…waiting. Ororo tightens her grip, “Logan?”
“Nothin’, darlin’…felt like someone I knew was near…not Victor.”
She peers in the distance as well, hoping to see what he has…but only seeing trees and fauna. He jumps up to start the engine, settling back in the seat…still looking in the distance. Shaking his head, Logan pulls out of the drive and speeds down the road.
“He saw us!”
“No, he didn’t…but he did know we’re here…”
“He won’t come back here now…man, we’re gonna get it!”
“He’ll be back, and he’ll bring her too…they were having way too much fun over the past two days not to!”
“You didn’t watch…did you?”
“Fuck yeah, I did…that guy is amazing! We were told just to keep an eye out, to make sure that they stay here…but I didn’t expect to see what I did the other night…”
The young man in the passenger seat sighs, there is no way he is going to get out of hearing about this, “You were just supposed to keep an eye on the house.”
His companion licks her lips as a salacious smile crosses her face, “I was…until they both showed up at the front door completely naked! They started at the door and made their way up to the bedroom. They were going at it literally all weekend! Didn’t you hear those sounds? That wasn’t from animals…”
The two scouts turn back to their transport and load up. They are both young mutants…pretty much on a mercenary mission.
“We need to get back and report to Stryker…” Quill says as he settles into the passenger seat. His companion just stares back at him, “Yeah, I know…” Two claws shoot out of the back of her hand…shining in the sunlight.
“Be careful with those…” he says as he looks into black eyes.
She smiles, “Don’t worry, this isn’t for you…”
The transport speeds off down a back road, heading for Niagara Falls…
In the base at Niagara Falls, Stryker walks next to the bed of the still useless Creed…the chemicals in him making him unable to move. The old colonel smiles at him as he starts to talk, “You know…I should have left you in there…should have let you blow up with the base. Because of you, my program has been knocked back months, maybe even years…we have to rebuild the machine and resupply my DNA collection! Needless to say that the doctor is very upset…would love to perform some experiments on you for messing with his dream.” Creed’s eyes follow Stryker as he moves around the room, his glare icy.
Stryker shakes his head as he catches the cold glare, “That look doesn’t bother me…this is your fault. I’ve lost my supply, my subject, and Logan in one fell swoop and you want sympathy?” The colonel comes over and peers directly in his face, “You have always been second-best, will always be second-best. Logan was designed to be better than you…when will you just accept that?”
He walks to the doorway to leave, looking back briefly before walking out, “A
decision will be made on you in due time…figure it’ll be about a month before you can even blink properly. Think about that…”
Creed is seething inside…no matter what he has tried to do, he has always come up short…and yet again he blames Logan…
That tiny bastard has a lot ta’ answer for…so does that old fool, Stryker. They’re gonna learn…they’re all gonna fuckin’ learn…
Creed’s eyelids start to move…There’s a start…finally got something movin’
After accomplishing that, his thoughts drift back to murderous intentions…No more, dammit…no more…
A hazy mist covers the grounds around the secret compound for the Brotherhood, miles away from the compound that Stryker held at Alkali Lake. A military transport pulls up to the gate, waiting for it to open. The driver sighs as the large creaking gate swings open to admit it entrance. The transport moves up to an abandoned bunker to park…when a few mutants come out to greet the driver.
“What did you find out?” one asks.
“Wait until I get inside…you’ll find out soon enough…”
The pretty brown-haired nurse from Stryker’s compound walks into the big doors and towards a conference room off to the left of the bunker. As she enters, she sees a figure sitting on a throne-like chair at the end of the dimly lit room. She slowly walks forward, her body changing to reveal her true self.
“Always did hate it when you have to portray a human…what did you find out, Mystique?” asks the older mutant in the chair.
Raven Darkholme, aka Mystique smirks before saying, “They have an extraordinary means to do something remarkable with mutant DNA and always find a way to mess it up!” She hands over the pouch she obtained in the compound…filled with the samples she stole, along with a flash drive with some information.
“That colonel has figured out the means to clone mutants, but his limited vision only wants to clone Logan. The possibilities for this program are limitless…and they have no idea how much so.”
The armor-helmeted man stands, “Very well done, my dear. Somehow I knew that Stryker would be good for something…” he looks down at the items handed to him.
“Shame that his own work will be used against him…” she murmurs. Mystique watches the mutant stand and starts to head down the steps towards some doors at the back of the room. “What about Sabretooth?” she asks as an afterthought…even though in some little way she does miss him. Using her disguise to find out what he was up to lead her to realizing that he was truly disturbed…too obsessed with getting back at Wolverine. What he did to the mutant Storm though is still a sore wound…she didn’t know he had been taken with her like that, he wasn’t supposed to forget that he had a job to do.
Well, maybe he’ll see who the real WOMAN is… she smirks as she awaits her answer.
“He has served his purpose for now. Whatever Stryker has planned for him…well, is really none of my concern.”
The auburn-haired mutant frowns at the statement and quickly turns to head to her quarters…she wasn’t done speaking about this tonight…
The mutant known as Magneto shakes his head as he continues to enter a laboratory built behind his throne. Dim lights illuminate the room as he makes his way over to another mutant that stands there looking over some test results…a vampirish looking man with red eyes. Magneto hands the man the samples, “Do you think you can do something with this?”
The man smiles evilly, “I can most definitely do something with this…our plan is still in effect, is it not?”
“Of course, Dr. Sinister…that is why I brought you here and sent dear Mystique into that haven for the information you needed. I’m to assume that these quarters are satisfactory?”
The pale-faced mutant nods, “More than satisfactory…with this information, I can make sure that mutants everywhere remain untouchable!”
Magneto just smirks at the eagerness in his voice, “We still have a long way to go before that is a reality…this is only the first step to total domination of the human race.” He walks over to a cooler with a few unrecognizable figures in it. “With this new technology, we will overrun the humans…with their own programming.”
Dr. Sinister smiles as he looks at the DNA samples, Weapon X, ehh? This will be VERY interesting!
Logan and Ororo finally enter the gates to Xavier’s Institute for Gifted Children, still a little worried about the strange feeling they had leaving Logan’s house in Canada...and somewhat happy that they are home. As they pull into the garage, they are greeted by Remy, Rogue, Bobby, Piotr, Jubilee and Kitty…all of them having been playing a game of flag football on the grounds.
“Look who back, chere?” Remy says as he jogs over to them. Rogue and the others do the same, leaving the ball on the ground.
“Logan, yer back!” Rogue shrieks as she runs over to him. He barely has time to get off the bike before she tackles him. He takes a few steps back from the impact, smiling at her enthusiasm. “Hey kid…gotta nice tackle there. Who was winnin’?”
“The girls vere…but dey vere cheating.” Piotr says and is hit by Kitty.
“We were not! It’s not our fault if you guys don’t know the difference between tackle and flag!”
“But, ya’ll complain when we wanted to do that!” Bobby interjects with a wicked smile.
Jubilee answers that one, “That’s because you don’t know when to let go!”
They all start laughing as Ororo gets off the back of the bike. The young men have to do a double take as they notice the subtle change in their usually stiff teacher; the proud lift of her head and the undeniable sensuality that exudes from her. They all have, in the past, tried not to look at her like she was one of the girls…feeling a little intimidated by the way she carried herself, almost like the goddess that she has been known to be at one time. And it’s not that they think she is unattractive…they just thought that it wasn’t right to think of her in that way.
But now, ever since Ms. Munroe has been with Logan…her haughty airs have been non-existent and she has become a complete knockout!
Bobby whistles low, but not low enough not to be heard by Kitty, who still has problems not staring hard at Logan. The two adults have to smile at the sudden uneasiness in the hormone-ridden teens.
To break up the awkwardness, Logan coughs before saying, “Look, we should check in with the Professor…ya’ guys finish ya’ game,” as he takes their bags off the back of the bike and heads into the mansion. Ororo smiles at the guys with the slack jaws, “We’ll see you all later…” as she follows behind. All six teens stare at them for a minute more before Piotr says, “Now, if you can pick your jaws off da ground…ve haf a game to finish!”
All of them start to blush as they head back out to the grounds to complete their game…the only one to lag behind is Kitty. Rogue heads back to her, “If ya’ don’t come on….Bobby’s gonna have a fit!”
“But, Marie…” she whines and Rogue laughs…she only calls her Marie when it’s serious to her.
“Don’t ‘Marie’ me! Ya’ know he’s taken…I mean really taken!”
“Lucky…” she murmurs as Rogue drags her back out to the game.
Logan leads Ororo to their room, throwing their bags on the floor…flopping out on the bed. She looks down at him with a wistful grin on her lips, “It does feel good to be home…”
He reaches up to grab her and pulls her down with him…flipping her to her back with him lying across her. “Anytime I’m with ya’…I’m home…”
She smiles at him, not being able to resist teasing him, “Oh, Goddess…are you really becoming, dare I say, sentimental?”
Logan rolls his eyes in his head, “Jeez, I hope not…I really have become a wuss!”
She flips him over to crawl on top of him now, “You are no more a wuss than I am…”
Ororo says as she leans down to pierce him with her clear blue gaze, “Besides, I love the fact that you can be so romantic…”
He groans, “Please…don’t let anyone know ‘bout that, I still have my rep to protect…”
She kisses him deeply, letting her tongue caress his...a deep growl rumbling in his throat. Logan pulls back to stare up at her, in awe of the feelings he has for her…praying that this can be forever.
“Duly noted, dearest…” she whispers.
“Ya’ think we should go see Chuck now?” he asks, slowly rubbing her back. Her eyes close and her body ignites…a pretty regular thing whenever he touches her, or is around her, or she’s thinking of him…
“We should go see him, but not take too long…” Ororo suggests in a deeply seductive tone.
He laughs as he kisses her one last time. “Darlin’, the more we stay here…the more I’m tempted ta’ tell him ta’ go ta’ hell…we’re busy!”
She laughs now too, sitting back to let him rise and remove his jacket. Taking hers off, she hands it to him so he can put it up for her as well. She reclines back against the bed, watching him move around the room, re-familiarizing himself with the surroundings.
“Still gotta get used to it?” she asks, observing him opening the balcony doors.
He glances back at her, smiling, “I really am gonna miss our weekend…there was no one around and we could do whatever we wanted, in whatever way we wanted…”
Ororo stands to cuddle with him, “Let’s make a deal…every other weekend we go there, to recharge so to speak.” She waggles her brows as he gets her meaning.
Chuckling, Logan whispers, “Deal…thirteen days and counting…” as he lightly licks her ear. She looks at him, marveling in how the sun highlights on his face…now that all of the facial hair is gone. The new look is so appealing that she still has to catch her breath.
“Wewe ni mzuri, mpenzi…” she says softly, running her fingers through his hair.
Logan closes his eyes…somehow, he has always known instinctively what she tells him…her language so natural that calls out to him. Her words tell him that he’s beautiful…something that he could never think about himself. But, in her eyes…he can see it and loves her all the more for it. His arms pull her closer, “Koibito...” he murmurs back, “…no one is as beautiful as ya’.”
The Nubian goddess smiles brilliantly as she snuggles into his embrace…loving his warmth, feeling safe. After everything…after knowing how close she had come to losing him to a fear that was so strangling, it could have killed her too…she can thank the Goddess for loving her enough to let her keep him. They both know that nothing about this is going to be easy…but they got through this…anything else would be a breeze.
“Una wangu moyo, Logan… milele.”
The feral’s throat constricts as the meaning of those words hit him… you have my heart, forever.
“Ya’ always had mine…even before I knew it…shit, I’m really gettin’ mushy, ain’t I?” he says as he kisses her forehead.
She giggles, mocking his voice perfectly, “Only with me, darlin’…only with me!”
Logan hugs her closer, “I think Xavier would be okay if we meet him later…I could really use some rest…” he says suggestively. Ororo has already had that idea as she is quickly removing his shirt, “I’m sure he won’t mind…it was such a long ride…”
“About ta’ be even longer,” he finishes as he unbuttons her shirt, pushing it to the floor before he picks her up and carries her back to the bed. As Logan places her down gently, his muscular body moves lithely across hers…his face sliding upwards so he can kiss her passionately…making them both forget everything around them for the next few hours.
Xavier sits in his office, staring out the window…having seen Logan and Ororo return. He did think they were going to check in, but was not disappointed when they didn’t come down. Smiling, he thinks of the journey they have had to take to get here, in a place where they can feel safe enough to explore their relationship…now they have a bond even stronger than what Jean and Scott has. In such deep thought, he doesn’t notice when Hank comes into the office and sits on the sofa, “I thought Logan and Ororo were going to be here?”
“They’ll be down soon enough…let’s let them enjoy this, what we have found can hold for a little while. This is more everyone’s problem than theirs.” Xavier explains.
“True, but you know how Logan is when he’s left in the dark.”
Xavier looks sternly at him, “He will not be in the dark, neither will she, but we cannot continue to keep this as their situation…it affects all of us, especially now that Magneto is involved.”
Hank shakes his head, “We have to stop this before it gets out of hand…”
“I know, but we’re going to need a lot of help on this one…I may have to call in some favors…”
Hank looks at the folder on Xavier’s desk that reads “Top Secret: Clone Project X-211360.” He stands to leave the professor to his thoughts.
Xavier looks out at the kids still playing flag football outside…let them have this time of peace; they’ll have enough to deal with soon enough.
Well, that is because this is the last one. I want to thank all of those that have left wonderful reviews for this story and I truly am glad that so many have enjoyed reading as much as I did writing it. I want to thank my beta Mertz for putting up with the monster length chapters to edit.
