My dark passenger
“Anthony, you really need to stop this.” Bruce said in a pained voice.
For the third time that week, he had gained consciousness laying beneath Anthony and hard. It seemed to be his friend’s new favourite way of trying to coax aggressive sex out of him.
“Afraid your dark passenger will break me?" he said, a bit haughtily.
“Don’t even joke.” Bruce said, the look on his face making Anthony regret he had said it.
Hurt and angry, and pained over it, did not cover it. Anthony leaned in and tried to kiss him, to distract him.
Bruce interpreted this as an attempt to push his luck, push Bruce’s buttons, and in general get his way. He pulled him back by the hair, ready to give him an earful. It was meant to be uncomfortable, but whether or not he succeeded in that, it only made Anthony give him a glazed look over his cheekbones, from under heavy lashes.
“Damn it, Anthony!" he said, wanting to let go but gripping tighter.
“This isn’t a game." he said concern mixing with his angry tone.
“I could hurt you." he said, his tone softening, becoming more pained than angry, as he released his hair and rubbed his fingers into it in apology.
He hugged him tightly and suddenly felt like crying against the hard light in his chest, his very much too fragile chest.
Anthony felt compelled to point out that Bruce had been rougher with him as himself than he had ever been as his alter ego, but he knew that would be cruel, so held his tongue for once. He would get his chance, eventually, to make his point. He always did.
