Chapter 20

            The funeral, as Thor promised, was beautiful. They were the only people in attendance, but it was beautiful, nonetheless. Thor had a boat carved, just to Loki’s liking, and as it set off into one of Asgard’s glorious rivers, Thor lit up the sky. The thunder boomed proudly, and lightening streaked throughout the sky. One streaked through the sky and hit the boat dead on, lighting it on fire on contact. The blaze lit up the night.

            Loki sat beside Thor, who stood with a hand on his shoulder.

            Months passed. Loki and Thor only shared a bed to sleep. Even that took convincing, but eventually, Loki allowed Thor to cuddle him. His sleep was always fitful. He would wake, screaming or sobbing, and clutch to Thor until he fell back to sleep. Thor stroked his back and kissed his forehead. He was always there.

            Loki did not experience torture from the Other. He went unbothered, thanks to Yfulen’s power and magic.

            Eventually, Thor courted Loki into bed. He touched and kissed every inch of skin while Loki blushed and squirmed. He complimented him on the curve of his calf, the cute indention of his knee, the delicacy of his ankle bone. He pressed kisses over his hipbones and ribcage. He tickled his stomach with his hair and then kissed each of his knuckles on his long fingers. He made Loki close his eyes and kissed each eyelid. He whispered ‘I love you’ several times, his breath tickling Loki’s ears.

            Thor held Loki close while they made love. He hooked an arm around his back, pressing their chests together as he rolled his hips. Loki keened and squirmed, arching each time Thor managed to brush and massage that one spot inside of him.

            Loki came. He came so many times that he lost count, and that was before Thor reached his own climax.

            Loki began to understand love, and finally, opened himself up without a mask of lies and betrayal.
