Chapter 2: Flirtation, Falling in Love (Literally)
6 minutes later, Scott came out with the food and the root beer float.
Logan was talking to his teenage daughter of how many places and things to do in Dallas, Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Antonio, etc.
"Here you go, sir. Here is your root beer float." Scott places the drink on the table. "And he's your burger." He placed the plate of foodinfront of the middle age man.
"Thanks, kid." Logan saidin a low voice, as he ate a fry.
Scott blushed by the voice of Logan. How deep it was. He got back down to earth, once again. "Oh, if you need anything, you guys, just give a shout out."
"Cool, thanks" Logan gruffed.
Scott smiled and walked away.
Marie noticed how Scott was reacting around her father. She sipped her soup. "Hey, dad." She ate a fry.
Logan took a big bite before he can answer his daughter. He swallowed. "Yeah?" He wiped his mouth with his napkin.
She ate another fry. "I think that waiter likes you." She took a bite of her Wrap.
"Hmm?" He looked to see the young, male counting out the change for one of the local customers.
Scott noticed that Logan was staring at him, but he didn't make eye contact with him though. He started to blush and show a small smile.
Logan gave a small smile then looked to his daughter. " Well, that kid ain't bad looking. He looks like he's in his 20s. Why would he like a middle age old man? Mostly I attract them. Instead of women." He sipped his root beer float. "Mmm."
"Well, dad, I have seen you with guys before. Well I mean plenty of guys. But you know, I have never seen you with a woman before." She continued to finish her cheese and bacon soup.
"Well, I dunno. I'm not attracted to women then men. It's weird, though. But it's my life stylr. I live by it." He crossed his arms, making the dog tags he wore jingle together. " But I'm not all 'gay gay'.
"That's my dad." Marie giggled as he she took another bite of the wrap.
Scott continued to go around to table to table to take orders and deliver the best service a customer would want.
He gathered some rather ravishing tips from them. He walked past the Howlett table on his way to the bathroom.
Logan watched him as he walked into the bathroom. Then he turned to face his daughter. He sighed in a low gruff. He looked outside to see his Chevy 4x4 still parked infront of the gas station / mechanic's.
"Um...dad?" Marie said as she waited for her dad to respond.
Logan returned his gaze to his daughter. "Yeah sweetheart?"
"...Nothing. Forget it." Marie shook her head.
"No, tell me what's up?"
"Um, well, you know... You've been single for awhile now."
Logan's left eyebrow lifted to show that he was listening.
"And you know....Well I overheard that there'a drag race tonite. Maybe we can, stay awhile for it. We can go to Dallas tomorrow. If that's ok with you..."
"Mmmm... I dunno, kiddo. Where will we you know, get some shut eye?" He unfloded his arms and laid them to his side.
"Well, I saw a motel down the road. It's walking distance so it won't be far."
"Hmmm......Fine. But I'm joing the drag race."
"Dad, that's why I brought the subject up. Duh!"
Scott rushed out of the bathroom in a flash. But all of a sudden, he slipped on wet floors.
"Hey!" Logan got out of his booth and caught Scott in a flash.
When Scott was saved by the middle age man, he felt the muscles of Logan touching his back. His breath touching his skin. He blushed badly at Logan. He felt so safe in the arms of the muscled man.
"You all right, kid? You can't run when there are wet floors. You could've gotten bruised up." Logan helped him to his feet. He held the back of his waist. Seeing how short he was compared to a 6'3''. Well, Scott was 5'10''. Not so short but the normal size of a man.
"I'm fine, sir. Thank you. I'm sorry, it's just that I'm blind and usually I can't see or feel what's infront of me." 'Except for you...' His left hand was on Logan's chest. Then his right hand was around his neck.
There was a sudden spark going through both men. Logan felt it going through like thunder struck. Scott was the same.
"Um, well." Both backed off one another, slowly, though.
"Thanks for saving me from that fall."
"No problem..." Logan was now so quiet and steady as ever. But he knew somthing inside him wanted to get to know more about the blind man.
"Um..." Scott went back to work. But this time, he was so happy inside. He was so close to Logan. He started cleaning off the table with a dirty cloth.
Logan stood there for a moment then retreated back to the booth. He sat there in silence for a few seconds before Marie broke the silence.
"Well, dad. It seems you like Scott, don't you?"
Logan sat and stared down to his lap then looked back up to face his daughter. "Yeah..." He began to stare at the blind waiter.
Scott noticed again he was being stared at by Logan. He looked up a little to meet eye to eye with Logan. (Well you know, mind to mind. Like you know in the movies, Cyclops can't open his eyes because he doesn't want to cause trouble. Yeah. Um yeah i'll shut up now.)
Logan gave a small smile as Scott was giving a small look at him.
Marie noticed the two staring at one another. She knew something was going to stir up between the two.
"Um, hey, Scott!" Logan called out as he drank that last of his rootbeer float.
Scott walked over to the howlett booth. "Yes? What do you need?" He blushed so hard at Logan.
Logan noticed. "Well, the bill would be nice." He said in a gruff, taking out his leather wallet, out of his worn out jeans.
"Oh, sure." Scott ripped out the bill and placed it down on the table. "Here you, sir." He said as he picked up the emptydishes and glasses.
"Hey, call me "Logan". Sir makes me feel all fancy shmancy." He looked at the bill and looked up to Scott, who was still blushing.
"Oh, ok." He smiled and left the booth. He put all the plates and glasses into a large square bin.
Logan opened his wallet to find one $20 bill, one $10 bill, and one $5 bill.
"Dad, give Scott a nice tip." Marie said as she stood up from the booth. "I'll be waiting out by the truck." She waved goodbye to Scott getting a wave bye back.
"I will." He stood up, fixed his collar, and took the money and check to the cashier counter. He also put in his hand $20 as the tip for the young blind man.
Scott stood behind the cashier ready to take the bill.
"Hey, Scott. Thanks for feeding my daughter and I. You really know to show some hospitality 'round here." Logan gives the check to Scott.
"It was no problem at all, sir. Ehrm, I mean Logan." He smiled as he takes the bill counts out the money. "Well, um, here you go Logan." About to give some money back to Logan.
"No, you keep it, kid. Oh, and here's a little somthin' for you." Logan refused as he gave a $20 bill to Scott.
Scott was in complete shock. "Um...Thank you, Logan. But you really didn't need to do that."
"But I do." He gave a grunted smile.
Scott couldn't help but blush and smile as he was being stared at by the handsome, middle age man. He looked down
Logan was trying to find the words in his head to ask him out. "Um, Scott. Uh..."
"Yeah, Logan?"
"Um, well...I was wondering..." He sighed in shame.
"What is it, Logan? You can tell me." Scott thought to himself. 'I think I know what he's going to ask me.' He blushed once again.
"Um, Scott, uh.... Well, I heard there's going to be a drag race tonite... And um..well I was wondering if...If you would go with me. I wanted to you know, try it out. So, maybe if you would like to join me...That would be great..." Logan was very nervous when speaking. He hasn't been out with anybody since the death of Remy. He sighed in relief that it was over.
"I would love to, Logan." Scott smiled.
"Really? That quick. Well, I guess um Ahem! When does your shift end?" Logan fixed the dog tags hangong around his neck.
"Well, my shift ends in about a few hours so I guess around 4:30, 5:00." He walked around the cash register and walked infront of Logan. Standing in the man's presence, made him feel all the emotions inside start to react diffrently.
Logan looked down. "Well ok, then. I'll pick you up at your house....Exactly where is your house?"
Scott leaned in closer to place his hands the muscular chest. "I live not too far from here. Down the road, next to that motel."
Logan felt how cold Scott's hands were even if it was 69 degrees outside. "Well, that's good, actually. 'Cuz my daughter and I are staying over at the motel. Wouldn't even be a problem getting to you early." He chuckled as he wrapped hia arms around Scott's waist. Pulling him closer to the handsome, muscular man.
Scott couldn't believe how close they were to one another. He wished that they can be this close forever. He blushed like crazy. "Great. I guess I'll see you around 5:15 this afternoon?"
"Sure why not."
Scott smiled. He knew he was going to have a fun time with Logan. So he laid a soft kiss onto Logan's stubbled cheek. Then, pulled away. "I'll see you soon, Logan." He gave a small smile then went back to work.
Logan stood there for a moment. Thinking to himself how warm and sweet that kiss was. He smiled in excitement then left the diner. Scott watched Logan go as he took a customer's order. He smiled softly.
"Hey, dad. I saw little something there. A kiss, huh?"
"Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Get in the truck, kiddo." He chuckled as he got into the truck.
Marie was happy that her father found somebody nice and basically her father's type.
Logan started the truck as his daughter held somthing under her jacket. He didn't notice. Typical.
"So, dad. YOu asked him out to tonite's drag race?" MArie said as she tried to hold down the moving thing that;s under her jacket.
"Yeah, I did. He said yes."
Somthing whimpered under the jacket making Logan turn to hs daughter. "Marie, what is that?"
"Nothing, dad. It was me I just want to get to the motel, so that I can watch t.v. while you go out with Scottie boy."
"Ok, then." Logan turned his gaze back to the road and continued to drive the couple more miles before reaching the motel.
Another whimper came frm the jacket. Logan turned to his daughter and lifted her jacket.
"Arf! Arf!" The puppy panted. Sticking his tongue out at Logan.
Logan looked at the puppy then at his teenage daughter. "Marie..." He stops the car. "Why is there a puppy in my truck? Explain that to me..."
Marie held the puppy up to Logan's face. "Because he had nowhere else to go, dad." she says in a puppy voice.
"Sweetheart, you know we can't keep him. His owner might be scared to death about him."
"But, dad. He has no collar. And look at his belly." Marie turned the puppy over to show how the ribs showed right through the fur. The puppy whimpered. "He hasn't eaten in like days, dad."
"Marie, no." Logan said in a fatherly low tone.
Marie then again held the puppy up to Logan's face. The puppy whimpered then licked Logan's nose.
"Dad, please? I promise I'll take care of him. Please?"
Logan looked at his daughter with a straight but was defeated and gave in. "Fine, but he's your responsibility. You are to take care of him, feed him, play with him, all that stuff, alrite?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes, dad! I will." Marie petted the dog and cuddled it into her arms.
Logan started the Truck continued to drive the last mile. "So, what are you going to name him?"
Marie wrapped the puppy in her jacket, making it look like a baby. "Well, it's a pembroke corgi. I guess I'll name it C.J."
"What's C.J. stand for?" Logan turned into the empty parking lot of the motel
"Cornelius Jarse." (My dog in real life)
"Hmm. Cool." Logan turned off the car and unlocked the car doors.
Marie got out of the car and entered the Motel. "I'll get us a room, dad. Wait here with C.J."
"All right." Logan got out of the car and walked over to the passenger seat. He saw the lil pup wrapped like a baby.
The puppy whimpered.
Logan carried the pup in his arms. "What do you want, pup?"
C.J. looked over the the bag of groceries. "Arf! Arf!"
Logan was confused for a moment then went into the back of the trunk to pull otu a box of doggy treats? He put the puppy down on the grond but unraveled the jacket that he was wrapped in. "What the? When did I buy doggy treats? Oh, well." He opened the box of treats and threw ait to C.J.
"Ok, dad. Our rooms are 5 and 6. I couldn't get us a two bedroom cuz they're remodeling the entire motel."
"Oh, ok then. Well here are some dogy treats for the pup. I dunno when and why I bought them so here you go." Logan handed Marie the box of Doggy treats, while she traded him his room key.
"You get room number 6 dad because that one is a smoking room." She grabbed the puppy and ran up the stairs to her own room.
"All right, then." Logan said as locked the truck and took out his cigar and lighter out of his worn out jeans. He lit the cigar and started heading upstairs to his room. He jingled the keys, unlocking the door, then entering. "Wow. For about $36 a nite. This ain't bad." He closed the door and opened the light. The room looked so clean. No bugs, vermin, nothing! It was spotless. It had a nice kitchen, a couch, a nice king size bed, a view of well the...wow... he can see Boulder Rock clearly. It was like a postcard moment. Logan was in awe... Anyway he puffed his cigar and continued his tour around the room.
"Arf! Arf! Arf!"
Logan heard the puppy bark behind the joining door. He chuckled gracefully. Then atlast he gave into his legs and fell right on the bed. Logan was so comfortable that he kicked off his shoes and just laid there in the moment. Then was interrupted by more yip tap of the dog. He puffed his cigar and closed his eyes. Thinking about how Scott would like without his sunglasses. How Scott would cuddle into him for warmth and safety. Scott wanting to be so close to him.
Then all of a sudden he didn't know that he had fallen asleep. He looked at the time find it was 4:20.
"Oh, whew. Still got time." Logan laid back onto bed. But then he sat back up, His ear twitching because he now heard a car pulling into the house next door. He stood up from the bed and walked over to the side window that was closest to the door by about 3-4 feet wide. He looked out to see Scott pull out of blue convertible. He saw him enter his house. Then Logan shifted tothe last window that was close to the Boulder Rock window on the side wall. He saw Scott enter his room. Logan puffed his cigar as he stared at the young, hot male. He crossed his arms.
Scott sat on his bed and began taking off his work shoes. (heads up: Scott's bedroom window is open. This will be a great strategy for Logan) Scott then began to take off his work clothes. Then Scott was basically naked.
Logan dropped his jaw to see the naked man right across from him. 'Damn. He's hot.' His cigar fell down into Logan's finger, which he caught.
Scott didn't change into his clothes yet. Instead he did something that kept Logan staring at the hot, young waiter.
"Damn" Logan leaned against the window sill in awe. He puffed his cigar while watching Scott well you'll see in the third chapter.
Logan was talking to his teenage daughter of how many places and things to do in Dallas, Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Antonio, etc.

Scott didn't change into his clothes yet. Instead he did something that kept Logan staring at the hot, young waiter.
"Damn" Logan leaned against the window sill in awe. He puffed his cigar while watching Scott well you'll see in the third chapter.
