Settling In (or The Clock)
Disclaimer: Yeah, you know.
By the time the two girls found their hotel and got checked in, night had fallen. After making their way to their room and unpacking, the clock on the side table read ten o’clock. Jean had grabbed some clothes and made for the bathroom while Rogue laid down on her bed and watched the ceiling tiles begin to spin. Every now and then the goth girl would glance at the clock, not sure if she trusted its bright, glaring face.
*That can’t be normal,* she thought as the clock changed to 10:06. *Must be some kinda demon clock, just waiting to make its move....*
In the bathroom, a freshly dressed Jean heard a loud smash and rushed into the room. The first thing she saw was Rogue sitting on the edge of her bed, breathing heavy and glaring at the far wall. Turning her attention to the wall, she saw a small black object that she had the feeling once resembled a clock.
“What happened, girl?” were the only w she she could manage to form. Rogue turned to look at her with unfocused eyes.
“It was sent by the devil. I had to stop it before it came after us in our sleep,” she said as if it was the most logical explanation in the world.
“Oh,” Jean said, accepting it as the most logical explanation in the world. “Well, you can have the bathroom now.” Rogue simply nodded and moved to get her stuff as Jean got the last of her things together and sat on her own bed. Rogue stopped just inside the bathroom and turned to look at Jean.
“Why are we changing?” she asked in obvious confusion.
“To go out,” Jean replied while putting on a necklace.
“Oh,” Rogue said and turned back into the bathroom. Taking a step further inside, she stopped and turned around. “Where are we going again?”
“To the club to meet that guy from that place we’re here to check out,” Jean supplied while slipping in her earrings.
“Oh,” Rogue said, “right.” She shut the bathroom door.

A/N: Yeah, I know the chapters are short. It's just easier to get this out. Maybe they'll get longer soon. Or not. Anyway, please Review!!!
