Acceptance
like a dream
Anthony entered his room first and led the way to his dresser. He pulled out a set of black satin pyjamas for himself and tossed a pair of pants at Bruce made of dark blue flannel. Somehow, it felt more awkward to be putting pants on than it had to take them off.
Bruce saw that the arc reactor shone brightly through this shirt too. Apparently, Anthony did not want him wearing a shirt, or did not think he wanted one. He honestly did not care either way. He watched Anthony cross the room and toss himself onto the bed. The crisp sheets and fluffy bedding looked really comfortable. He walked over and watched, still amused, as Anthony stretched indulgently and made no motion to move over for him to have room to lie down. He honestly felt it was a pleasure to get to see this side of his friend; Anthony being flirtatious, playful and very -even desperately- physical. In one night, he had gone from objectively attractive close friend, to adorable boyfriend. Normally Anthony seemed to put up a wall of decided independence, and now he was letting himself show his need for affection; telling Bruce, without doubt, that he was trusted. Bruce was not quite sure that ‘heart-warming and adorable’ could cover it; still, he also was not sure that five in the morning was the best time for flirtatious games, especially considering why they were already up that late.
“Are you… going to make room for me?” asked Bruce, raising one eyebrow.
“There’s room.” Anthony shrugged, thought he obviously knew what Bruce was talking about.
Bruce rolled his eyes, still smiling, and climbed onto the bed over him. He cooperated when Anthony wrapped his arms over his shoulders and kissed him, until the kiss started to get too heated, and he pulled away.
“Tony, we’re supposed to be sleeping." he said, watching Anthony bite his lip.
Anthony rolled his eye at him in a really exaggerated way, as if to mock him.
“Very funny.” He kissed him once more and lay down next to him.
Anthony curled up against his chest and fell asleep fast enough for it to be funny; not that Bruce was awake much longer.
