The Letter
"Dear Remy,
My sweet darlin' boy. I don't remember when or how it
happened, but all I know is that these feelin's exist.
I can't deny 'em anymore, but I've gotta clear my head and try
ta understand it myself. But I can't leave without tellin' ya how I
feel about ya.
I'm in love Rems. I'm in lovth yth you. Like I said, I dont'
know when or how it happened, but it did, and I can't say I feel
ashamed about it.
My feelin's are so strong, but I've never been able ta show it
to ya. I'm sorry. I've never been able ta show or say how I feel
easily, but here it is. Right in front of ya.
Please. If ya love me back, find me. I'll be in my cabin up
in Alberta. Right now, I don't know if I could deal with the idea of
face-to-face rejection. I just hope ya feel the same.
I love you, mon diable. My devil, my angel, my everything.
Most importantly, my heart, my lovely one. I'd die fer ya. I pray
you will come find me.
Faithfully yours forever,
James Logan Howlett"
He looked at the words he had written down and sighed. Sealing it in
it's envelope, putting his lips to it, he grabbed his bag of stuff
and went to Remy's room.
Rogue treated the boy like shit, but he still stayed with her. He
didn't know why when she didn't love him.
It hurt him to see Remy like that. Depressed. Guilty. Hurt. He
had heard Remy cry at night and it made him ache. Made him angry at
Rogue.
He deserved better than that. Much better. He didn't know why he
didn't know that, or why he put up with the abuse.
He put the letter on the boy's dresser. Remy had a black eye, his
long hair covering it, deep asleep with the still fresh smell of
tears, cigarettes and booze on him.
Shaking his head, he closed the door quietly and went to the garage,
starting his bike. He left the mansion and his love behind.

When Remy awoke the next morning, he went about his morning routine
of showering and changing clothes. As he got dressed, he noticed the
letter with his name written on it. It was Logan's hand writting.
Biting his lip, he picked the letter up in curiosity and read it.
Rereading it twice more, he let the letter fall from his fingers,
just as a tear rolled down his face. Logan loved him.
He knew the way to the cabin. He'd been there before with Logan as a
vacation. Quickly, he packed a couple of clothes and grabbed the
keys to his own bike.
It wasn't as if anyone at the mansion would miss him anyways.
Runnning to the garage, he starts his bike and drives off to Logan's
cabin.

Logan got to the cabin at about 4:00 in the morning. he was tired
but he couldn't sleep. He couldn't stop thinking of Remy. The boy
was always on his mind lately.
He just lay in bed with a pair of pajama bottoms, staring at the
ceiling or the wall. Would eve even show up, or would he yet again,
face rejection?

Remy had noticed that Logan's feelings towards him had changed a
little, but he didn't know to what exstent.
It was 9:15 right now and he would be to the cabin in 30 minutes. He
had always loved Logan, but never told the older man of his
feelings. He didn't know if he could have handled the rejection, or
the pain of loosing someone so close to his heart.
Now he knew and would tell him so. He was happy.
Lost in his thought, he didn't notice the car behind him as it was
going faster. They were drunk and hit him from behind.
The bike flew up and he was thrown off, landing a few meters from the
bike. His helmet cracked, his legs, ribs, collar bone, broken and
bruised.
Lying motionless, a dazed look on his face, he heard sirens. Blood
was running down his face and he whimpered for Logan. He had listed
Logan as his emergency contact if ever in Canada.
The hospital admitted him and called Logan. Logan was shaken up when
he came to the hospital, and became nearly breathless from the pain
of hearing that they had nearly lost him twice.
Remy had a punctured lung from 2 of his broken ribs, his wrists
broken as well. He looked and felt like hell. When he awoke, he saw
Logan hovering over him...smiling.
"Welcome back to the world of the livin' darlin'," he said stroking
Remy's hair.
He couldn't talk being as he had a tube down his throat, but he
opened his empathy to Logan and he knew he was appreciated and
loved. Both Remy and Logan had tears stream down their faces.
"I love ya kid. I'm just sorry it took me so damned long ta figure
it out. It's my fault ya got hurt. If I'd just have told ya how I
felt, and hadn't left, ya'd be alright," Logan said quietly.
Logan stayed with Remy during the night, claiming him to be his son.
Though no one saw the resemblance, who would argue with a love
starved, crazed-looking Canadian?
Remy slipped into a coma that night, but wasn't afraid. If he died,
he thought, at least he would die happy, loved and safe.
He stayed in a coma for two weeks. Logan never leaving his side. On the last day that they would be keeping him on the life support at 11:55 five minutes from pulling the plug the still body of Remy moved. Logan jump up and ran to grab a doctor.
He was fighting this. He wanted to be with his love. He wasn't going to lose this without a fight.
The doctor came in and checked Remy out and he told Logan he was stable. Didn't know how it happened but it did.
Logan stayed by his side all that night eyes glued to his love. Hoping and praying he would wake up.
