I happen to like the footnotes. I get all sorts of obscure tidbits to irritate my friends and
relatives with. So nyah!
I'm gonna go now. I have a headache the size of China and a nasty head cold to boot. If
I didn't know it wasn't possible, I'd claim symptoms of the plague.

Decent effort. I like some of your touches, but I'd like your stories more if you didn't flag every reference you made to an outside source with a footnote. It distracts me from your story. I'd rather find them on my own, honestly.
Your better readers will already notice your Alice in Wonderland references. Trust me. If they don't, that's fine too!
