incredible...absolutely incredible.
I love how you handle the characters, Kat is great and you manage to show a kinder, gentler side of logan without turning him into a wuss.

also, it is a relief to read an x-men fanfic in which...
1) there is good spelling and grammar
2) the author has a decent amount of knowledge about the x-men

oh, and 3) the author knows that logan is supposed to be short (creed is notorious for calling him "runt")

Nice angsty love story. Got a question; in the beginning you said something about Logan being short of stature? Is that from the comics? He's not short in the movie and HJ definitely is not short.

I just fininished reading this story. It's great! I love it :) I really liked the way you portrayed Logan, it totally fits.
And what about people saying "hey, you know how old he is, right?"... pfft! The age-factor does not count for Logan. What's he supposed to do? Wait for a woman his age? Yeah, right... good luck :) I say he can be with whomever he want's to be! And you described a wonderful relationship between him and Kat in your fic very well done! :)
Keep up the great work! No need to be unsure about revealing your work to the public, it's great stuff! A pleasure to read :)

Hey! :)

I've just finished reading all 17 chapters of "Running to Stand Still", and there's so much I want to say about it. This review might be a little long, heh. (A thought: I might send it to your email too on the offchance you don't see this, because there're things I want you to know...)

First of all, you've done a great IC Logan. I love him, he's my favourite character, and I think you've done an awesome job of capturing his personality here. As for what you said about making him "understanding, compassionate, and articulate"...damn, I've wanted to do that myself, so kudos to you for doing so!

The other characters were also well-written. Congrats on getting around Rogue's killer skin to make a Scott/Rogue scenario possible--I haven't read any other fics yet that've taken that route.

Now, about your flamers.

The one who said, "You do know that Logan is like 120 years old" is the kind of person I've been glaring at for years now--first because of Logan, then also because of Spike from BTVS, and now Johnny Depp's been added to the list. "You're aware he's ___ years older than you, right?" So? Who gives a damn? Some people just don't get the point of obsession. It's not meant to be rational, for god's sake. *grin* Whoever left the age-mentioning review shouldn't be reading Logan fanfic at all if they're going to be that sensitive about it. (If they really want to take the whole "120 years old" thing to heart, then why is it acceptable to pair him with anyone? Jean isn't exactly a century old, herself.)

And as for the "ff sff sniff* I smell a Mary Sue"... that brings me to something I've been wanting to say since I finished chapter one.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WRITING A DECENT OC!

I'm serious. No sarcasm intended, no subtle flaming going on, no nothing. I've been toying with my own Logan/OC fic for--god, almost a year now?--but I've been a little ashamed about the process from the beginning, because I kept worrying about people who would take one look at the summary and say, "Ugh, Mary Sue." And I don't want to write a Mary Sue. I hate Mary Sues.

But this fic of yours...wow. You've made me realize it *is in fact possible* to write an OC without her falling off the edge of the MS cliff, and I owe you a bundle for doing it. [I feel all inspired again. :) Whee!] Kat is by no means a Mary Sue, the reviewer is a complete idiot, and thank you SO MUCH for writing Kat and giving me the courage to go on and keep writing my own. *applauds*

Thanks for the inspiration, the motivation, and the fantastic reading you've given me. *grin* I'm hoping there's more soon.
